Models from Sony Europes Latest DAV Series feature new S-DIAT rear wireless technology for versatile installation
Hanover, 17 March 2004 The latest SR and SB Series within Sonys Digital Audio Video (DAV) family incorporate many operational, design and technology features that provide superb quality sound and pictures, making them perfect for the style-conscious contemporary home. Sonys unique S-DIAT wireless rear speakers enable the rear speakers to be positioned anywhere in the room, without worrying about cables from front to rear. Integrated technologies such as Sonys award-winning S-Master digital amplifier and its new Digital Direct Twin Drive subwoofer make for exceptional sound quality. Easy set-up menus and the Sony TV Direct Button make DAV the perfect sound system for musical and visual entertainment in the home. Key models in the new series are the stunning DAV-SR4W and the DAV-SB500W. Cutting edge rear wireless speaker technology Sonys unique S-DIAT wireless speakers do away with wires to the main system, so they can be placed in any position where there is a power outlet. This frees up the old restrictions on having to place the speakers according to the length or routing of speaker wire, and is particularly useful in larger rooms. S-DIAT operates through infrared transmission, which is proven to give a superior sound quality and be more stable than other solutions such as radio frequency waves, which can attract interference from a range of devices in your home. The Power of Pure Sound S-Master digital amplification technology is the cornerstone of the Sony DAV family, providing high-quality audio with a significantly purer sound. By overcoming the challenge of heat dissipation in amplification, S-Master has power-saving qualities. It also has much slimmer and more compact circuitry, allowing high quality audio to be delivered from a chassis that houses a DVD, SA-CD and CD player plus amplifier, decoder and RDS tuner. The Digital Direct Twin Drive subwoofer utilises S-Master technology to deliver maximum performance. In the main unit, Sony has integrated two S-Master digital amplifiers, with both providing dedicated power to the subwoofer. Thus, Digital Direct Twin Drive delivers a more powerful bass sound exceeding that of passive or active subwoofer systems. Ease of Use Getting started with a DAV system couldnt be easier as Sony has created a new interface that is graphical and simple to navigate. You simply choose from three different room sizes, select the distance of each speaker from the main system then input your TV screen ratio of either 4:3 or 16:9. If your DAV is installed with a Sony television, you no longer have to press a variety of buttons on different components to start the home cinema experience. Pushing the new Sony TV Direct Button brings the TV and the DAV to life, with the DVD function and the TV input automatically selected - you just press one button to start.
