High Speed Digital Interface, IEEE1394
The DKC-FP3 is built with a powerful IEEE1394 digital interface (Digital Camera Command Set). This high quality computer interface links the camera to your computer with one simple connection and is ideal for studio and event photography. When you need to quickly load images to your PC, the IEEE1394 digital interface easily transfers your digital camera files without disrupting your shooting schedule.
*Note: An optional PC Card or the supplied PC Card Adaptor with Memory Stick has to be installed to transfer data via IEEE1394.
Optical Viewfinder and 2.5-inch Color LCD
An SLR-type optical viewfinder gives you total photographic control when framing and composing your photographs. As a professional, you understand the benefits of an optical through the lens viewfinder and the DKC-FP3 delivers. The 2.5-inch color LCD (viewable area measured diagonally) located on the back of the camera is used to review captured images, assists in focus, and display image information.

Histogram Feature

A properly exposed image is very important to the professional photographer. To help you evaluate your images, weve built a histogram feature into the DKC-FP3. The histogram feature quickly displays a graphical representation of an image on the LCD making it easier to set exposure. This method is useful in choosing the best overall exposure setting and optimizing image quality from the brightest highlights to darkest shadows.

Auto/Manual Operation

The DKC-FP3 has both automatic and manual control settings to make the most of your picture taking experience. When set to Automatic, the camera offers a Program setting, Aperture Priority, and Shutter Priority controls for fast, reliable imaging. In manual settings, you can manually control shutter speed and aperture settings, and focus on the subject to achieve exactly the shot you need. Zoom operation is also manual for quick, accurate framing.

Sony has also incorporated a convenient function in the DKC-FP3 to assist with framing and composition of your images. Two alignment markers, used for reference and alignment, can be displayed on the LCD preview screen and video monitor. These markers are very helpful in setting vertical and horizontal alignment, image size and providing picture consistency. Each marker can be moved independently on the screen and up to three pairs of markers can be saved as camera defaults.

Fast and Continuous Operation
The DKC-FP3 has a 3 MB buffer memory for fast and continuous shooting. You can capture two images within a second*, shooting the next shot while recording the image into the PC card. The Quick Review function provides instant review of the last captured shot by simply pushing the REVIEW button.

High Performance Wfine CCD
The DKC-FP3 features a high performance Wfine CCD. The Wfine CCD has been especially developed to maximize the performance of digital still cameras. Equipped with 1/2-inch Progressive Scan Wfine CCD, the high resolution of 1,344 x 1,024 pixels is achieved. Other advantages include realistic color reproduction with an RGB filter and a square pixel construction that is suitable for loading to a PC.

InfoLITHIUM Battery

The Sony InfoLITHIUM battery system is incorporated into the DKC-FP3 making location and field photography enjoyable. With up to 2.5 hours of operation (1,700 consecutive shots*), the NP-F550 battery offers the power you need to meet your busy shooting schedule. The battery communicates with the camera so that the remaining battery capacity is displayed on the LCD monitor to an accuracy of one minute.

5x Optical Zoom Lens with Fast Aperture
Since a camera is only as good as its optics, the DKC-FP3 incorporates an outstanding manual 5x zoom lens. Professional photographers will appreciate the photographic control of this fast F2.0 lens. Even more impressive is its wide angle of view. In 35 mm equivalency, the DKC-FP3 offers a 28 mm to 140 mm field of view. The lens, made up of 13 elements in 10 groups, provides high resolving power, appropriate contrast, and accurate color reproduction. A special anti-reflective coating is applied to all surfaces to minimize flare and increase overall image quality. The DKC-FP3 also has a 2x digital zoom, extending the overall zoom range to 10x.*

*Note: When the digital zoom is used, only 640 x 480 pixel images are captured.
Removable PCMCIA Card and Memory Stick Media
The popular storage media PCMCIA (ATA Type II) card* can be used for storing images. The Sony Memory Stick** is also accepted, when used with the MSAC-PC2 Memory Stick / PC Card Adaptor. The camera holds up to 40 images*** on the supplied 8 MB Memory Stick. *Note: Some type of PC card may not be used. **Note: Memory Stick is a new type of recording media from Sony, based on

Splash on a Concavity

The surface allowed the milk to drain and also widened the diameter of the splash compared to the width it would have had on a level surface.
