I bought this as a replacement for a Sony DSC-P93 that is virtualy the same feature wise. This camera has a larger LCD and a smaller overall size.

The Cyber-shot DSC-W5 is an affordable yet high-performance 5-megapixel digital camera that offers a Carl Zeiss 3x optical zoom lens, large 2. This relatively new line, the Sony W5 has a more rangefinder-style than the original Cyber-shots, with a compact size for easy travel.

I bought this camera back in 2005 when it was a bit more expensive and I still have not had any problems with it.

After receiving first Sony digital camera, we discovered it was defective. First contacted Sony (assuming operator error), then Newegg.

The bottom line is that the camera is a "a go...  Small , user friendly, Nice size screen, takes very good videos 8 out of 10 pics are blurry I bought this camera in January 2006 and have...  Big LCD, very good lens especially for macro shots, good color reproduction.
