1. 1.1-5 Environmental Policy and Management System The Ericsson Environmental Report is published on http://www.ericsson.com/environment/ and the Sony Environmental Report on http://www.sony.co.jp/en/SonyInfo/Environment/. These sites provide for example information on environmental policy and environmental management systems. The main part of the production sites for Sony Ericsson mobile phones has certified environmental management systems according to ISO 14001. At the other sites the current internal environmental management system are being developed to fulfil the ISO 14001 standard. Environmental Conscious Design Refers to substance levels, which do not exceed natural background levels. Required according to the Montreal Protocol. According to legislation in several countries mercury is prohibited for use in certain electronic components. Within the EU and OECD, work is going on to limit and ban the use of certain brominated flame retardants (PBB/PBDE). Electrical Safety, RF Exposure and EMC The product shall meet the applicable EU-Directives: 73/23/EEC, 93/68/EEC for electrical safety and 89/336/EEC for EMC, electromagnetic compatibility. The European pre-standard ENV 50166-2 and the corresponding Swedish Standard SS-ENV 50166-2 specify radio frequency exposure limits. For mobile telephones these limits are expressed as SAR (Specific Absorption Rate) values. The applicable SAR limit is 2 W/kg (10 gram mass in average). General
R600 has built-in GPRS bearer technology that is most often used as the connection type in a WAP session. Even if R600 is mainly used to and also designed for WAP connectivity it is still possible to use your R600 to establish a GPRS Internet session. After R600 is connected with your R600 to a PC/laptop or PDA with a RS232 cable it is possible to establish a GPRS Internet session. After being connected you can start surf the Internet, download files, check your E-mail account, etc, etc. This document gives you general instructions how to proceed to set up and configure your PC with Widows 98 or 2000 and Ericsson R600.
Windows 98
Setup a standard Modem connection:
Select Modems in the Control Panel Menu to install a new modem type. In the Menu Modem Properties select Add to install a new modem.
Next > / Select Dont detect my modem; I will select it from a list.

In the Windows menu go to: Start/Program/Accessories/Communications/Dial-Up Network/Make new connection.
