| over-priced Not much better - if at all - than the MDR NC60, which is now much less than half the price. Sony MDR- NC500 does exactly what it says on the can I purchased the NC500 as a replacement for the Sony NC6 that I purchased back in 2004. Worth every penny. Bought these for a long haul flight to Australia. Cancelled out engine and cabin noise brilliantly. Good sound quality. | |

| Consumer Reports Was Wrong On This One I am a big believer in Consumer Reports. Annoying intermittent thump Bought this to replace my Bose noise cancelling headphones whose headband broke. Sounds like a whisper at full volume I recently drove myself, after a lot of careful consideration. | |
