over-priced Not much better - if at all - than the MDR NC60, which is now much less than half the price. Good but at a price I fly long haul quite regularly and felt the price was worth the investment considering what you pay for a business class ticket t... Sony MDR- NC500 does exactly what it says on the can I purchased the NC500 as a replacement for the Sony NC6 that I purchased back in 2004. Worth every penny. Bought these for a long haul flight to Australia. Cancelled out engine and cabin noise brilliantly. Good sound quality.

These head phones compete directly with the Bose noise cancelling head phones, and at half the price. They are lightweight, effective.

I cannot use these headphones anymore! There is a consistent thumping noise when I put them on. I cannot believe Sony would still be selling these.

Consumer Reports Was Wrong On This One I am a big believer in Consumer Reports. Sounds like a whisper at full volume I recently drove myself, after a lot of careful consideration.
