CONFIGURATION NOTES:

No special BIOS settings necessary. This notebook is shipped with Windows XP by default. The Pinnacle tests were performed with Service Pack 1 (manually installed). Display:
The original display resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixel is the native resolution of the LCD panel. For the purple test it was changed to 1024 x 768 pixels. Under this resolution, the video inlay windows are comparatively small, as they are non-scalable. For larger video inlay display, switch to 1024 x 768 pixels. The overall picture quality of the notebook monitor, however, is considerably poorer then.

Preinstalled interVideo Win DVD 4.0 for VAIO cannot playback SVCD files created with Liquid field. install interVideo Win DVD 3.0 or CyberLink PowerDVD XP 4.0. If a CD-RW is used, the command "Quick Erase/Erase" will not completely delete the content of the CD-RW. DVMatics DVD player displays error "Failed to open file" if you try to load *.mpg files burned on CD. The temporary *mpg file written to the hard drive is playable, though.
