PowerShaper PS3300
Tunable Dispersion Compensator, Small Form Factor
Features:
Small Form Factor - Compact Footprint Flexible Substitute for Fixed DC Software Configurable Optics Compensates All DWDM Channels Colorless - On or Off ITU Grid. Broad Dispersion Pass-Band Low Group Delay & Phase Ripple Flat, All-Pass, Low Loss Fully Integrated Flexible Control With Monitoring & Alarms Continuous, Hitless Tuning Precise, High Resolution Control Flexible Pass-Band & Dispersion RS232 or I^2C Command Interface Set & Forget or Closed loop Small Form Factor for Line Card Integration (90 x 70 x 12 mm)
The PowerShaper PS3300 tunable dispersion compensator (TDC) enables cost-effective and rapid provisioning of high-data-rate optical channels with one standard module. Flexible software controls of the Oasis control architecture speed TDC module integration and reduce design and unit costs. Whether the channel being configured will operate at 10G or 40G, there are specific operational advantages. At 10G, dynamic tuning eliminates the need for carriers to stock multiple lengths of dispersion compensating fiber. Flexible dispersion control reduces operational expense as optical-link lengths and dispersion budgets are reconfigured at add/drop and ring interchange nodes. Dispersion tolerances are even tighter when provisioning a 40G system. Environmental factors can introduce signal-limiting dispersion extremes. Real-time agile adjustments trim excess chromatic dispersion from any channel to meet the specifications for error-free 10G, 40G or higher-speed network traffic. The PowerShaper TDC manages dispersion continuously over a wide optical pass-band using patented, thermally tuned, solid-state optical etalons. The PowerShaper family of products combines low phase error, low group delay ripple and all-pass amplitude performance with precise, stable control electronics and a feature-rich control language in a compact form factor. The smaller footprint of the PS3300 TDC yields more space and placement flexibility on a network line card.
Applications:
Dynamic compensation of 40 & 100Gb/s Networks 10GB/s Dispersion Management Rapid Network Upgrades Simplifies Deployment and Sparing Eliminates Installation Errors Aggregation at Router Interconnects Multi-Reach - Metro Regional, LongHaul, Submarine Networks Single-Channel or DWDM Networks
