The company successfully achieved this milestone by the end of the 2006 calendar year, just six weeks after the product was introduced on November 17, 2006. PS3 has been selling-out at retail outlets across North America since it was launched. This high consumer demand drove PS3 to reach the one-million mark before its predecessors, the PlayStation2 computer entertainment system and the original PlayStation game console both systems combined have shipped more than 200 million units of hardware and more than two billion units of software worldwide. Seamless integration.

Nippon Video System Co. Ltd. feels that the NIPROS/1 kit provides the SMPTE fiber optic interface, camera controls and all necessary inputs and outputs needed to network your camera into a professional studio infrastructure. Nippon Video System Co. Ltd. says that it has made the integration simple and efficient by requiring only one SMPTE fiber optic cable between the PS-270 Camera Adapter and the PS-570 Camera Control Unit. It eliminates the problems and additional crew that come with running multiple cables to each camera setup. Depending on your production requirements, the SMPTE fiber optic cable can be extended up to 1.2 miles.

Nippon Video System Co. Ltd. explains that while the NIPROS/1 kit set up with the HDV camcorder is almost identical to that using the PMW-EX3 camcorder, it requires the use of a third-party HD analog component / HDSDI converter to output embedded timecode and audio to the PS-570 camera control unit via the SMPTE fiber optic cable.
NIPROS/1 for the PMW-EX3 XDCAM EX Camcorder
According to Nippon Video System Co. Ltd., the NIPROS/1 kit makes the Sony PMW-EX3 a full HD XDCAM EX camcorder at home in the field or in the studio. The PMW-EX3 camcorder provides full raster 1920x1080 resolution, interchangeable lens capability and file-based recording in multiple formats including 1080P ,1080i and 720P. The PMW-EX3 camcorder and NIPROS/1 kit are available from Sony as a combination package PMWEX3NPAC providing a comprehensive studio solution for small to mid-sized production facilities. For broadcast quality remote control capability, Sony recommends adding an RM-B150 or RM-B750 remote controller to your NIPROS/1 configuration.

NIPROS/2 for Shoulder Mount Camcorder
Nippon Video System Co. Ltd. says it also has developed the NIPROS/2 Studio Configuration Kit to adapt the HVR-S270U shoulder mount HDV camcorder to the studio production environment by utilizing the rearattached NIPROS PS-470L camera adapter. Nippon Video System Co. Ltd. designed the system functionality of PS-470L very similar to the PS-270 bottom mount camera adapter included in the NIPROS/1 kit. The recommended remote controller for the HVR-S270U with NIPROS/2 kit is RM-1000BP.
The rear-attached NIPROS PS-470L camera adapter easily converts the HVR-S270U shoulder mount HDV camcorder for studio applications.
