B. The most significant ene11\Y cont:~ct during the month was the capture of a V.C. lulmlet guerilla {j)ne Tha.i Viet HAN from Dit;n iJien hamlet,.in the Ba Long Valiey. on 12 Jan 1967. Interrog.s.tion by 15th CIT prod\.ced that there w~r~ 15 v.V. guerillad and 7 V.C. cadre living in th~ hamltt. Acting on this intelligence, Buttalion Command GrouD "A" with Cos. I and K. conducted a search and destroy operation of Dien Dien Hamlet. Co. I on 29 Jan 67 killed 2 V.C. captured 9 confirmed V.C., along with 11 ChiCom Carbines, 1 Thompson 45 o<~l. Sub-nlP.chine Gun, 1 French 9nun Sub-I![.chine gun, 16 ChiCom grenndos, aOOlbs. of rice., a enlllll amount:. of medical supplies and equipment, assortt:Jd uniforms, NJlA Sneo.kers and 400 rounds sm:\ll e.rms ammunition.
