Multiformat Music Compatibility
What music file format to choose? No problem. All major formats are accommodated: ATRAC3plus, ATRAC, MP3*, WMA*, and WAV*. User-friendly SonicStage Ver. 2.1 software for Windows is supplied for importing, sorting, searching and transferring music files to the VAIO pocket via the supplied cradle and fast USB 2.0 link**.
*Transcoded to ATRAC using supplied software. **VAIO Music Transfer is also supplied for use with other music management applications.
High-capacity storage with stamina and style
The internal 20GB hard disk has enough space for 13,000* songs, so you can carry a whole music library and still have room to store your personal album of digital photographs. It can also be used as an external hard disk for data backup or transfer. Whats more, you get to enjoy up to 20 hours of continuous play on a single charge of the lithium-ion battery.

Full disclosure remote controller with 3-line LCD
You can pick and play your favourite songs using this multifunction remote controller even when the VAIO pocket is tucked out of sight in your pocket or bag. In addition to standard volume, play, stop, FF and RR controls, it features an easy-to-read 3-line LCD screen with backlighting to display the artists name, track title and play time.

In a design that seamlessly blends style and durability, the VAIO pocket sports an elegant aluminium chassis that matches the smart black nickel plating of the grip.
ATRAC3plus is a high-compression codec that maintains superb quality sound, so even at 64Kbps it rivals MP3 at 128Kbps.
Compact cradle for simple data transfer
As well as charging the battery, the cradle connects the VAIO pocket to your Windows computer for the transfer of music and other data. It also has a miniUSB connector for transferring JPEG photographs directly from a digital camera*, and a line-out facility to connect a pair of stereo speakers.
*For transfer, the digital camera must comply with USB Mass Storage Class specifications. Compatibility with the VAIO pocket has been confirmed for all Sony Cyber-shot cameras sold after September 1999. (Information valid as of October 2004)

Capable of reproducing 260,000 colours and fine detail, the beautiful 2.2" QVGA+ (320 x 256) colour display is bright enough to use outdoors. You can view album art while you are searching for or listening to music, and it can also be used to run a simultaneous slide show of digital photographs.
