B Overview
Features
High brightness, high picture quality
High brightness Adopting Sony's unique new optical system that incorporates newly developed LCD panels provides a high-efficiency optical system. It allows the 165 W UHP lamp to give a light output of 2000 ANSI lumen. High picture quality VPL-CX20: Three super-high-aperture 0.63-inch XGA panels with approximately 790,000 effective pixels, produce a resolution of dots (horizontal/ vertical) for RGB input, and 750 horizontal TV lines for video input. VPL-CS20: Three super-high-aperture 0.63inch SVGA panels with approximately 480,000 effective pixels, produce a resolution of dots (horizontal/ vertical) for RGB input, and 600 horizontal TV lines for video input.
Short focal lens The projection distance is very short, approximately 2.3 m (7.6 feet), when projecting an 80-inch image, which allows projection on a larger screen even in a limited space.
Off & Go feature
The cooling fan built into the projector will work even after the power is turned off and the power cord is disconnected. This enables you to move the projector to another location immediately after turning it off.
Security Functions
Security lock This function makes it possible to prevent projection of a picture on the screen unless the required password is entered when the projector is turned on. Panel key lock This function locks all the keys on the control panel of the projector, allowing use of the keys on the Remote Commander. This prevents the projector from operating incorrectly.
Compact and lightweight
The projector is light because the weight is only about 1.9 kg, and the body is designed to be thin. This makes the projector convenient for carrying.

Before using the Remote Commander
Pull out the clear film from the lithium battery holder.
To replace a battery
Release the lock of the lithium battery holder by picking it, and pull out the holder from the Remote Commander.
Notes on Remote Commander operation Make sure that nothing obstructs the infrared beam between the Remote Commander and the remote control detector on the projector. Direct the Remote Commander toward the remote control detector. The operation range is limited. The shorter the distance between the Remote Commander and the remote control detector is, the wider the angle within which the commander can control the projector becomes.
Install the lithium battery.
Face the + side up.
Put the lithium battery holder back into the Remote Commander.
Notes on the lithium battery A button type lithium battery (CR2025) is used in the Remote Commander. Do not use batteries other than CR2025. Keep the lithium battery out of the reach of children. Should the battery be swallowed, immediately consult a doctor.

They enhance the quality of business presentations with their superior image quality, user-friendly functions and stylish design. Their auto setup capabilities also allow for quick and easy setup procedures, saving users valuable time. Hassle-Free Setup Both the VPL-CX20 and VPL-CS20 come with Advanced Intelligent Auto-Setup functions that enable users to set up the projector by simply pressing the power button to automatically recall the previous settings in its memory. The Auto Focus, Power Tilt Adjuster and Keystone Correction settings in both models allow for the concise vertical keystone adjustment of picture geometry, giving an accurate representation of images even in cramped environments. Razor-Sharp Clarity Under Any Lighting The VPL-CX20 and VPL-CS20 are outfitted with the innovative 3-LCD panel system, an advanced projector technology that reproduces a wide gamut of colours to project dynamic, vibrant and beautiful images, which are gentle on the human eyes. Both models are capable of projecting a wide range of colours and the smooth movement of the microscopic liquid crystals in the LCD panels allows for natural colour gradations, especially in darker shades, so that images are faithfully reproduced and dither noise is reduced significantly. Each projector comes with a 125W lamp that offers up to 2000 ANSI lumens. It projects clear and vivid images even when the room lights are left on. Its low wattage lamp also means lower power consumption for the user. The top-of-the-line VPL-CX20 model offers an XGA resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels and 750 TV lines while the VPL-CS20 model gives a true SVGA resolution of 800 x 600 pixels and 600 TV lines for clear display of text and important details.

Lightweight, Stylish and Professional Both models measure 273 (l) x 52 (h) x 210 (w) mm and weigh just 1.9kg, making them among the most compact 2000 ANSI LCD projectors in the market. The small size means that each model fits easily into a briefcase, making it highly portable for the executive on the go. Encased in a sleek, durable aluminum exterior and stylish curves create a minimalist and professional look for corporate meetings and presentations. Enhanced Technological Features The VPL-CX20 and VPL-CS20 are fitted with a highly efficient cooling system, exclusive only to this series of LCD projectors. Its Off & Go function allows the projector to be unplugged and kept away without waiting for the lamp to cool down as it incorporates a builtin circuit that continues to run its cooling fan after the power is cut. The low fan noise means less distraction during meetings. Both projector models feature a short focal-length lens of 2.3 m, which makes it possible for users to project a full-size approximately 80-inch image in small meeting rooms. The multi-scan converter capability allows the projection of images from multiple interfaces, such as all HDTV formats, as well as video (component, composite, S-video and RGB) and digital computer (VGA up to SXGA+) signals. Other features include a password-authentication system, control panel key lock, security lock, Image Freeze function and a 4x digital zoom function. Both the VPL-CX20 and VPL-CS20 are available from early August.
