| Watch out for online downloads from PSN which are not full resolution. I have only run into one so far. Wing Commander was a conversion I think. Aside from the lacking of PS2 support, this system is amazing, I love everything about it, I have no words to describe this beautiful game console. | |

On rechargeable battery and charger
The battery charger and the rechargeable battery may become warm during charging, but it is not a problem. If the rechargeable battery is new or has not been used for a long time, it may not be charged completely until you use it several times. The nameplate indicating the operating voltage, power consumption, etc. is located on the bottom exterior of the battery charger. Certain countries may regulate disposal of battery used to power this product. Please consult your local authority.
On the wireless receiver
The main unit and the receiver are transmitting the following signals; 1) Operation signals from the receiver to the main unit 2) Sound signals and status information from the main unit to the receiver As these transmission are done through radio signals, be careful to follow these precautions; Never use the wireless receiver in an airplane because there is the risk of interference with communication frequencies. Listen to the Walkman using corded headphones or earphones (optional). Do not use the wireless receiver near metallic objects or use cassettes with metallic labels as this may impair sensitivity and sound quality. Do not place the receiver on top of the main unit as this may cause poor reception. Keep the receiver within about one meter from the main unit when in use. Keep the receiver especially close to the main unit in inferior receiving conditions such as the following; places with great electrical noise such as near computers or wordprocessors places with strong electromagnetism such as near television or radio towers in cars or trains near other people listening to a radio or using a wireless Walkman Do not lump the cord of the receiver when in use. Rotate the main unit to obtain optimum reception when reception is poor. The LCD display may become unstable under poor receiving conditions. In this case, rotate the main unit and/ or receiver to obtain optimum reception. When the receiving condition is poor and the - - - - display continues for more than 10 minutes, the receiver will shut off automatically. To shut off the receiver manually, press p on the receiver for 4 seconds or longer. In this case, press p on the main unit as well to stop the tape. The supplied wireless receiver is to be used only with this unit.
Troubleshooting
The cassette holder does not open. If the tape is playing, stop and then slide OPEN. This condition may occur when you remove the power sources during playback, or when you use exhausted dry battery. Set the power sources again or replace the exhausted battery with a new one. The sound contains noise. Use the unit away from radioemitting devices such as cellular phones. The volume cannot be turned up. If AVLS is on, press and hold SOUND/ AVLS until in the display disappears. The tape fast-forwards by itself during playback. Set BL SKIP to off. The sound contains noise when using the wireless receiver. The LCD display is unstable or displays . Extend the cord of the wireless receiver, which acts as an antenna. Keep the receiver away from metallic objects. Replace the dry batteries and/ or recharge the rechargeable batteries. Keep the receiver within about a meter from the main unit. If the unit is interfering with another wireless Walkman, switch the transmission channel by pressing CH for 2 seconds or longer. Cannot operate/receive on the wireless receiver.* Switch WIRELESS switch to ON. Unplug the optional corded headphones or earphones if connected. Insert a cassette. Release HOLD by sliding the switch to the opposite direction of the arrow. Replace the dry batteries and/or recharge the rechargeable batteries. No sound comes out from the receiver when operating on the main unit. The power of the receiver may be off. Operate from the receiver; this will automatically turn the receiver on. Cannot operate the Walkman although batteries on both the main unit and the receiver have been replaced. Remove the batteries and insert them again after 15 seconds or longer. Cannot operate the main unit on a dry battery. The battery case may have been attached before removing an exhausted rechargeable battery. Remove the exhausted rechargeable battery first.
* If these measures fail, the main unit is not able to recognize the receiver. Register the number of the wireless receiver with the main unit as follows; 1 Replace/charge the batteries on both the main unit and the receiver. 2 Set the WIRELESS switch on the main unit to OFF. 3 On the main unit, press REWAMS while holding down p and wait until the BATT indicator lights up. You should exercise extreme caution or discontinue use in potentially hazardous situations.
To cancel the AVLS function
Press and hold SOUND/AVLS for two seconds or more again. Notes
If the sound is distorted when you listen to the bass-boosted sound with the AVLS function, turn down the volume. The setting is stored as long as the battery of the receiver is not replaced.
To clean the exterior
Use a soft cloth slightly moistened in water. Do not use alcohol, benzine or thinner. If you use optional headphones or earphones
Clean the headphones/earphones plug periodically.
Preventing hearing damage
Do not use headphones/earphones at high volume. Hearing experts advise against continuous, loud and extended play. If you experience a ringing in your ears, reduce volume or discontinue use.
Caring for others
