Good price with everything PRO: I am sure you know better than I do. Everything works fine. Price is low and come with all functions, ie: Bluetooth. Great Product This is a great product. I like the fact that I can talk hands free using the integrated microphone. It works well with my blackberry. Great Stereo Its a great stereo and I love that it has a remote if I dont feel like pushing a bunch of buttons on the actual unit.

The Power of Sony

Sony started with sound.

For the moment, forget about BRAVIA televisions, Handycam cameras and PlayStation consoles. Before any of that, Sony was an audio company. Weve been breaking sound barriers for 60 years. And weve been advancing audio technology all the way from the recording studio to your ears.
1950 Japans first audio tape recorder. The Type G changed recorded history.
1979 Worlds first mobile PWM amp. The PWM switching power supply was far more efficient than conventional amps, as Sony demonstrated with the XM-1.
1982 Worlds first mobile diversity reception tuner. Two FM antennas can do what one cannot minimize multipath distortion. Sony proved it with the XR-100.
1979 Worlds first Walkman player. Sony sets music in motion with the worlds first headphone personal stereo, the TPS-L2.
1981 Worlds first mobile frequency synthesis tuner. Before Sony, tuning a car radio meant turning a knob connected to a sloppy, imprecise variable capacitor. The Sony XT-1 changed all that.
Milestones along the road.
Sony has an amazing track record.
1984 Worlds first mobile CD player. It only stands to reason that the company that co-invented the Compact Disc was first to bring the wonders of digital audio into the car, with the CDX-5 CD player and CDX-R7 CD/tuner.
1986 Worlds first Mobile A/V system. This included the XTV-5 and XTV-8 monitors, the EVX-S8 8mm video deck and the XVM-9 TV tuner with diversity reception.
2010 Sonys first receiver with Tune Tray The DSX-S100 Digital Media Receiver.
1984 Worlds first mobile full-logic cassette deck. Before Sony, the Stop, Play, Fast Forward and Rewind buttons operated clunky levers and rods. Sony replaced them with electronically operated touch-buttons in the XR-740 and XR-780.
1986 Worlds first CD changer. Before it came into homes, the CD changer actually appeared in cars first with the CDX-J10 DiscJockey 10-disc changer.
1991 Worlds first Mobile digital preamplifier. Part of the legendary Mobile ES system, the XES-P1 included digital volume, balance, fader, parametric equalization and sound fields.
2010 Sonys first receiver with TomTom navigation The XNV-770BT in-dash AV receiver.

Hype and hoopla doesn't impress equipment reviewers. Gut-kicking performance does. So we are particularly gratified by all the rave reviews we've been getting.

Navigation Technology

Integrating movies, music and TomTom navigation.
Sony A/V receivers already had some of the most gorgeous displays ever put into a dashboard. So it was only natural that we partnered with TomTom navigation. Not only can Sony entertain you with stunning pictures, incredible sound, and connect your handhelds with USB 1-Wire 6 and Bluetooth technology,5 but we can help you find your way in more places than ever. TomTom maps feature a million more miles of US roads than other GPS brands. Amazing entertainment joins comprehensive navigation, thanks to Sony.

Connectivity Technology Tune Tray
The integrated Sony Tune Tray is the brilliant way to hide the wiring and hide your iPod 2 , Walkman player, or USB device.6 Your digital music player is tucked away behind the fold-down faceplate. With your digital music player in the Tune Tray, you can recharge the players battery, control playlists and select songs via Sonys USB 1-Wire interface. A convenient iPod to USB adapter (XA-50IP) is included so no additional cables are required for connecting an iPod. Not only does the Tune Tray hide unsightly wires, it also places your player safely out of sight, a great way to deter would-be thieves. It even has an alert that reminds you not to leave your player behind when you leave the car.

Connectivity Technology Twice as nice: Dual USB

> Connect compatible players with a pure, digital-to-digital link, bypassing the players D/A converter and headphone amp. Sonys 24-bit D/A converter typically results in 10 dB higher signalto-noise ratio compared to conventional aux inputs. > ontrol your digital music player from the receiver's front panel, C with access to artist, track and album names, playing time and more. > Recharge your music player battery over the USB interface.6 > Works with most iPod music players,2 iPhone mobile phones,2 most Sony Walkman players and select additional devices. (iPod and iPhone devices require a USB cable, such as the one supplied with the device or the optional Sony RC-100IP or RC202IPV cables, sold separately.) > Also compatible with many USB drives and devices, including Sony MicroVault drives.

Dynamic Loudness

A conventional Loudness circuit improves sound by boosting the frequency extremes whenever the volume control is turned down. However, it doesnt take the program dynamics into account. Sonys Dynamic Loudness goes one better by considering both the volume setting and the dynamics of the content. You get powerful, natural sound at all settings of the volume control.

Audio Technology

CSO OFF
CSO downmixes the Center channel to the Left-Front and Right-Front speakers.

CSO ON

The result is a high-performance virtual Center channel speaker.
Other channels not influenced by CSO (independent)
4.1ch + CSO = Virtual 5.1ch

Center Speaker Organizer

Now you dont need a Center channel speaker to enjoy proper playback of 5.1-channel DVD sound tracks. Sonys Center Speaker Organizer (CSO) performs downmixing. The circuit decodes the Center channel and mixes it into the Left-Front and Right-Front, creating a virtual Center speaker of high performance.
full range full range bass

Listening Position

At home, youre free to sit where youll hear the best sound. In the car, youre not free at all. For example, the driver has no choice but to sit way too close to the front-left speaker. Sony compensates with the digital delay system we call Listening Position. By selectively delaying the channels, Sony aligns the arrival time for ideal sound. Independent settings for subwoofer and full-range speakers put you in complete control.

Rear Bass Enhancer

If your system doesnt include subwoofers, Sony has the next best thing. The Rear Bass Enhancer will direct the bass to the rear speakers only, then give that bass an extra boost, to deliver sound with authority.

6 dB/oct.

12 dB/oct.

18 dB/oct.

Built-in HPF/LPF Crossover
Full-range speakers may be okay for factory radio systems, but they have major limitations. For one, full-range speakers cant produce really low bass the way subwoofers can. And as the amplifier tries to push bass through full-range speakers, the treble distorts. Thats why advanced audio systems use multiple, specialized speakers, including subwoofers, mids and tweeters. And thats why Sony receivers have built-in active crossovers. The high-pass filter (HPF) strips out the bass and connects to an amp just for mids and treble. The low pass filter (LPF) sends just the low bass to a subwoofer amp.
Adjustable crossover Slope

Sonys Advanced Sound Engine takes the concept even further with a crossover thats not only active, but digital as well. For maximum impact, you want separate amplifiers for your subwoofers and full-range speakers. For maximum sound quality, the sophisticated Digital Sound Processing (DSP) built into the Advanced Sound Engine circuit provides you with a choice of mild, moderate or aggressive crossover slopes (6, 12, or 18 dB per octave). You can precisely divide the frequency range with the digital high-pass filter (HPF) and low-pass filter (LPF) with selectable frequencies at 50, 60, 80, 100 or 120 Hz and set the adjustable crossover slope to perfectly match the needs of your speakers. Theres even a selectable subwoofer phase mode to optimize your subwoofers presence. Selectable crossover slopes are available on select 2011 models (CDX-GT450U, CDX-GT550UI, CDX-GT650UI, DSX-S200X, DSX-S300BTX and MEX-BT3900U).

EQ3 Equalization

In the old days, your only way to adjust tone quality was the bass and treble knobs. Sony equalization goes light years beyond, with discrete bands of equalization. The result is far more sensitive, supple control. Parametric models even let you select the frequency bands, for even greater sound control. EQ3 Stage 2 Three frequency bands (60, 1,000 and 10,000 Hz) with 10 dB adjustment. Models: CDX-GT250MP, CDX-GT350MP, CDX-GT35U, CDX-GT700HD, CDX-HS70MW, CDX-H910UI, CDX-M10, CDX-M30, CDX-M60UI, DSX-MS60, and DSX-S100 EQ3 Parametric Three frequency bands with 10 dB adjustment and band selection (low 60/100 Hz, mid 500/1,000 Hz, high 10,000/12,500 Hz). Models: CDX-GT740UI, CDX-GT930UI, and MEX-BT5700U
EQ7 Parametric Equalization
In the beginning, you could only control the frequency balance of your music with simple bass and treble adjustments. Threeband equalizers were a big step forward, adding control over midrange frequencies. Sony has gone even further with EQ7 and EQ7 Parametric. EQ7 provides 7 independent bands of adjustment while EQ7 Parametric provides 7 selectable bands of equalization. And enjoy six factory preset EQ curves, plus a seventh custom curve for your own settings. EQ7 Seven frequency bands (63, 160, 400, 1,000, 2,500, 6,300 and 16,000 Hz) with 6 dB adjustment. Models: CDX-GT450U, CDX-GT550UI, CDX-GT650UI, MEX-BT3900U, MEX-DV2200, XAV-622, XAV-62BT, XAV-72BT, XNV-660BT, XNV-770BT EQ7 Parametric Seven frequency bands with 6 dB adjustment and band selection (40/63, 100/160, 250/400, 630/1,000, 1,600/2,500, 4,000/6,300 and 10,000/16,000 Hz. Models: DSX-S200X, DSX-300BTX

Comprehensive Codecs

How's this for peace and harmony? Sony builds receivers that accept just about every digital audio codec and format you'd want on the highway. This most certainly includes MP3, WMA and AAC the codecs popular in most digital music players.

Speakers

The tweeters create a soundstage that appears to float in midair. The midranges reproduce the human voice with the presence of a live concert. The subwoofers deliver the deepest bass drums with an impact you can feel on every kick. This is the way mobile audio ought to sound and does with our Xpl d Mobile speakers. o

Marine

Marine Series
Leaving the dock is no reason to leave your music behind. Sony Marine audio is ready to entertain you with equipment designed from the ground up to withstand sun, sea and salt air. The large buttons are easy to use. The big displays are legible even in bright sunlight. Sony gear is ready to deliver sound from
CD, AM, FM, HD Radio, iPod, iPhone, and Walkman players,
even satellite radio, if you have a subscription. Our DSX-MS60 Digital Media Receiver even includes the exclusive Tune Tray, to connect, control and contain your digital music player. Sony Marine Series makes the difference between simply boating and cruising in style.

Marine Audio Technology

Seaworthy entertainment.
Reliable operation on the sea is no accident. Its the result of detailed engineering in using silicone rubber, circuit board coatings, UV-resistant finishes and more.

Ergonomic design

When the throttle is open and the boat is bouncing, you'll appreciate Sony's front panel layout. Large, widely-spaced buttons make it easy to control your entertainment.

Resists UV Rays

Sony Marine Audio units are built to maintain their good looks, even after prolonged exposure to the sun.
Bright, easy-to-read display
The cockpit of a boat is not a living room. Sony displays are designed to remain legible in direct sunlight.
Hear all your songs on all your outings. Sonys USB 1-wire interface lets you connect, control and even charge your iPod, Walkman player, and other USB 6 devices.

Resists salt spray

Whether you're into freshwater or saltwater boating, Sony Marine Audio is built to take it.

Splash proof

We don't just claim splash resistance, we confirm it through rigorous IPx5 testing!8
Not just splash proof: Meets IPx5 requirements
Not all marine audio systems are as tough as this. Imagine pointing hoses at an audio component. Now imagine turning the water on and letting loose a gusher of gallons per minute for three full minutes. That's the requirement of IPx5, the international standard met by Sony splash proof Marine receivers and controllers.8 Compatible Models: CDX-HS70MW, CDX-H910UI, RM-X60M/L.
Rigorously tested to resist salt spray
If you live on the coasts, splashing is not the only threat to your equipment. Salt spray is amazingly corrosive. That's why the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) created the B117 torture test for salt spray. Select Sony Marine head units, controllers and speakers pass the test, for superb durability.
Also tested to withstand sunlight

The Power of Sony

The Power of Sony Mobile Audio

Sony started with sound.

For the moment, forget about BRAVIA televisions, Handycam
Milestones in Mobile Audio.
Sony has an amazing track record in Mobile Audio. You can see and hear this heritage today in every Sony component. 1979 - Worlds first mobile PWM amp. The PWM switching power supply was far more efficient than conventional amps, as Sony demonstrated with the XM-1. 1981 - Worlds first mobile frequency synthesis tuner. Before Sony, tuning a car radio meant turning a knob connected to a sloppy, imprecise variable capacitor. The Sony XT-1 changed all that. 1982 - Worlds first mobile diversity reception tuner. Two FM antennas can do what one cannot minimize multipath distortion. Sony proved it with the XR-100. 1984 - Worlds first mobile full-logic cassette deck. Before Sony, the Stop, Play, Fast Forward and Rewind buttons operated clunky levers and rods. Sony replaced them with electronically operated touch-buttons in the XR-740 and XR-780. 1984 - Worlds first mobile CD player. It only stands to reason that the company that co-invented the Compact Disc was first to bring the wonders of digital audio into the car, with the CDX-5 CD player and CDX-R7 CD/tuner. 1986 - Worlds first CD changer. CD changers actually happened in Mobile before they made it into homes. 1986 - Worlds first Mobile A/V system. This included the XTV-5 and XTV-8 monitors, the EVX-S8 8mm video deck and the XVM-9 TV tuner with diversity reception. 1991 - Worlds first Mobile digital preamplifier. Part of the legendary Mobile ES system, the XES-P1 included digital volume, balance, fader, parametric equalization and sound fields.
cameras and PlayStation consoles. Before any of that, Sony
was an audio company. Even the name Sony comes from sonus, Latin for sound. We've been breaking sound barriers for almost 60 years. And we've been advancing audio technology all the way from the recording studio to your ears.

2 Line Display

Receiver Technology CDX-GT240 at a Glance
With Sony, "affordable" doesnt mean "compromised." The CDX-GT240 delivers AM, FM, CD, MP3, and WMA playback plus the ability to connect outboard sources through the front panel aux input. 52 watts x4 power leaves factory radios in the dust.
Driving always takes top priority. That's why Sony supplies big, widely-spaced, easy-to-operate buttons and controls.

Built-in HPF/LPF Crossover
Full-range speakers may be okay for "factory radio" systems, but they have major limitations. For one, full-range speakers can't produce really low bass the way subwoofers can. And as the amplifier tries to push bass through full-range speakers, the treble distorts. Thats why advanced audio systems use multiple, specialized speakers, including subwoofers, mids and tweeters. And thats why Sony receivers have built-in active crossovers.

EQ Tone Controls

Sonys EQ is way beyond traditional bass and treble controls > full 10 dB boost and cut range. A > preset EQ curves and a customizable seventh curve enable Six you to adjust the equalization to your liking. > Parametric EQ (on select models) even enables you to adjust the center frequencies for super precise tonal optimization.
The high-pass filter (HPF) strips out the bass and connects to an amp just for mids and treble. The low pass filter (LPF) sends just the low bass to a subwoofer amp. Xpl d o Vocal Edge Cruise

Gravity

Station Information Artist Name Album
Dynamic Soundstage Organizer (DSO)
While the car is an ideal place to crank up tunes, a car's speaker locations don't make for ideal stereo imaging. Door-mounted speakers tend to be too low and too close to your ears. Sony comes to the rescue with Dynamic Soundstage Organizer (DSO). This digital process elevates and widens the stereo soundstage for a bigger, better listening experience. Three levels enable you to optimize the effect for your specific car.

Radio Data System (RDS)

MP3 players have artist and album title displays. So does Sirius / XM satellite radio. Now FM stations can have it too. The Radio Data System (RDS) enables artist and title information to accompany the FM broadcast. Selected Sony receivers automatically display the information.

Tuner Technology

Sony receivers are known for exceptional tuning. And weve made them even better. Our latest generation of receivers boasts better signal-to-noise ratios, lower interference, better multipath rejection and better stereo separation. It all adds up to immaculate reception.
Sources & Connectivity USB search Technologies
Sonys USB 1-Wire connection6 not only makes for superior sound, it also makes for superior ergonomics. Clever Sony features enable you to search for songs without looking at text readouts. Dynamic Distortion Suppressor
When conventional amps are driven too hard, they "clip" off the signal peaks, sending masses of distortion to the speakers. The Dynamic Distortion Suppressor of Sony's XM-ZZR3301 reduces peaks without clipping them harshly. So distortion is substantially reduced.

Active Thermal Control

When the going gets hot, conventional thermal control simply shuts your amp down until it's cool. Sony's XM-ZZR3301 has a better way. Active Thermal Control automatically lowers the output until it's safe to return to normal operation.

Speakers

The tweeters create a soundstage that appears to float in midair. The midranges reproduce the human voice with the presence of a live concert. The subwoofers deliver the deepest bass drums with an impact you can feel on every kick. This is the way mobile audio ought to sound and does with Sony Xpl d Mobile speakers. o

That's the requirement of IPx5, the international standard met by Sony Marine head units, controllers and

8 speakers.

Rigorously tested to resist salt spray
If you live on the coasts, splashing is not the only threat to your equipment. Salt spray is amazingly corrosive. That's why the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) created the B117 torture test for salt spray. Sony Marine head units, controllers and speakers pass the test, for superb durability.
Also tested to withstand sunlight
Just as you can get sunburned, the finishes on your equipment can fade, crack and peel after prolonged exposure to sunlight. And just as with sunburn, ultraviolet (UV) light is the biggest culprit. The finishes on Sony Marine head units, controllers and speakers are specifically designed to withstand another ASTM test: G154 for UV resistance.
Anti-corrosion coated circuit boards
You can't see inside Sony Marine products. But when you're out on the water, humidity can get inside, causing rust that can undermine reliability. That's why Sony uses conformal coated circuit boards. All Sony Marine products, including amplifiers are safeguarded by HAYA high humidity resistant vinyl resin. It's the same compound that protects the circuit boards of outdoor traffic safety equipment.
