FRAGFX 3.0A FIRMWARE UPGRADE

General:

The FragFX firmware upgrade software is designed for an IBM compatible Personal Computer (PC). This software will not run directly on the Sony Playstation 3. The FragFX is a USB device that can be plugged into a computer system. Our FragFX firmware software is designed to update via a PC to compensate for tweaks, and upgrades that have been suggested to us from the FragFX gamers.
Before you start: The FragFX needs a USB driver for your PC to recognize the FragFX and allow the upgrade software to communicate with the FragFX, before you are able to upgrade. You need to download and install the driver. For more information about the driver, please refer to the driver instruction. If you have successfully installed the new driver, continue to the upgrade process. Firmware Upgrade : 1) Start the FragFX firmware upgrade program by choosing "FragFX Upgrade Vxx.exe" (the xx is the version number, it may be different from version to version) from the folder where you saved it from the download. Click on the FragFX Upgrade Vxx.exe to start the upgrade software. You should have your FragFX plugged in the USB port before starting the upgrade. Make sure the FragFX is plugged into the USB port that was used when you installed the driver. Note: Each USB port may need to install the driver individually for the PC to recognize the FragFX.
a) You will be prompted with a dialog box indicating your current FragFX firmware version, and asked if you want to upgrade to the new version. b) If you want to continue with the upgrade, select Yes, or Select No to Exit. c) Wait for the blue status bars to complete to the end, and a message that indicates the upgrade is complete and successful. DO NOT un-plug the FragFX or do any operation until the upgrade processing is complete, otherwise your FragFX may be damaged and cause an unknown result.
Trouble Shooting: PROBLEM: Some of the PCs may have USB compatible issue that causes the FragFX not to be recognized, when you plugged into the computer USB port. In this case you would see a pop-up window with unknown device message. SOLUTION: Try another PC to see if the FragFX is recognized on that computer or contact our technical support.

IMPORTANT The FragFX will work without the firmware upgrade, the upgrade is designed to add more features, improve the unit performance, tweak the hardware and fix bugs or programming issues. Any hardware related support issues that are non programming related, please email the support team explaining your issue. FragFX firmware upgrades are to be done at your own risk and are not guaranteed to work for everyone. There are many possible reasons why your PC may not load the driver correctly. FragFX Driver Installation
For New users: Preparation: If you have never installed the FragFX driver and Utility, you can follow the steps below: Download and unzip the FragFX firmware upgrade package from our web site www.splitfish.com. Extract the files into a folder, we suggest creating a directory called FragFXdrivers. (You may need to download winrar to extract these files if you do not have it) You can download the Winrar Utility at http://www.rarlabs.com/rar/wrar371.exe www.rarlabs.com , select download, and choose your desired language. Driver Installation: 1. Plug your FragFX into a USB port on your PC, 2. Click the FragFX_DriverInstallerV3.exe to start the install. 3. A message window will pop-up saying the installation is complete. Press OK - to confirm and finish the driver installation. 4. Check the FragFX driver is installed successfully by going into the Control Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Device Manager, you will have the following in the Device Manager window: Human Interface Device (+)FragFX(TM) The FragFX(TM) item indicates that the driver is installed successfully and the FragFX is recognized. Now you can use your FragFX Pro Setup Utility V30 to setup the FragFX or upgrade your FragFX firmware by running the Upgrade software downloaded from our website. Note: You can install the driver without your FragFX plugged in, but the process may be different than what you install driver with the FragFX is plugged in. We suggest you always install the driver with your FragFX plugged in. This simplifies the installation process. When you install the driver without the FragFX plugged in the driver installer will finish as normal, but when you plug in the FragFX into this USB port, there will be a message window pop-up Found new device and then it may follow with the New device driver install Wizard. or go to
If this happens, please do this: Select the Install from a list or specific location -> Dont search, I will choose drive to Install -> Have disk -> Install from Disk, locate the FragFX.inf file downloaded in the fold you have copied the driver files. Press OK to confirm and finish the driver installation. For The User Who Has Installed An Older Driver: This new FragFX driver V3 is designed for better USB compatibility. The user who has installed our older driver needs to replace the older driver with our new V3 driver to be compatible with the firmware upgrade and our new FragFX Pro Setup Utility V3. To replace the drive, you can follow the following steps: 1. Plug the FragFX into your USB port. 2. Click on the FragFX_DriverInstallorV3.exe.
