Mission to Save Energy
The optimum solution for any situation
g avin
Energy-saving sensor technology from STEINEL can be used wherever light is needed. Whether indoors or out, spot lighting or illuminating large spaces: Using the sensor products from the brand and technology leader, environment-friendly lighting is achievable here and now. This way, everyone can help to make a better future.
Light only when it's needed.
About 19 % of the energy used world-wide goes on lighting. This equates to an annual demand of about 2,650 terrawatt-hours. Much of this gigantic amount is wasted partly by leaving lights switched 'ON' unnecessarily. With sensor technology from STEINEL, wasting this resource is a thing of the past: Light comes 'ON' automatically when you enter a room. And switches 'OFF' again when you leave. What's more, using low-energy lamps with our sensor lights is not a problem either. This way, lighting from STEINEL helps to save huge quantities of energy, CO2 emission and costs. Besides this: Lights that switch 'ON' automatically enhance everyday convenience, safety and security. That's "intelligent energy saving".

Motion Detectors for Outdoors IS LED
Infrared Sensor with LED Light
The world has never seen anything like this before. The IS LED combines timeless, aesthetic design with practical benefits. Just like any other motion detector, for instance, it switches an external light 'ON' and 'OFF' again. At the same time, though, the IS LED is also a house number illuminated by LEDs. This unique, practical and stylish combination can be used for all sorts of applications. This is how they work Three LED function programmes geared to practical needs: 1. 'ON' at twilight threshold, all night 2. 'ON' at twilight threshold to the middle of the night. 3. 'ON' when movement is detected When movement is detected, the light connected switches 'ON' and 'OFF' again independently of the programme. Manual override (4h) can be selected at a mains power switch connected to the light. Setting options Detection zone of motion detector can be limited using the shrouds provided. Easy, convenient selection of light 'ON' time, twilight threshold and programmes on removable sensor module.

All Steinel lights are suitable for use with low-energy lamps.
Light 'ON' and 'OFF' automatically
An innovation from STEINEL the original. STEINEL high-frequency (HF) sensors instantly identify movements without "sensitivity" being restricted by ambient temperature and the direction in which the object being detected is moving. The hi-tech sensors emit signals and receive the echo reflected off walls and surrounding objects a moment later. Responding to the changed echo image, the sensor registers any movement in the detection zone within fractions of a second and immediately switches the light 'ON'! The light switches 'OFF' automatically after a period you wish to select. STEINEL high-frequency sensors operate at 5.8 GHz. As these signals are not obstructed by glass and thin walls, the sensor can be installed inside the light where they are hidden from view. This means nothing spoils the design of STEINEL SensorLights. At approx.1 mW, their power output is about 1000 times less than that of a mobile phone.
Reach adjustment STEINEL HF-SensorLights can detect movements within a radius of 1 to 8 m. Reach is infinitely variable within this range.
5 sec. 15 min.
Time setting STEINEL HF-SensorLights are equipped with a timer that makes sure the light stays 'ON' for the selected period of time. The time you want the light to stay 'ON' for can be adjusted to any setting between 5 sec and 15 min.
Twilight setting Setting the response threshold to between 2 and 2000 lux, you can determine the level of ambient brightness at which you want the SensorLight to come 'ON'. While it's still light, at dusk or when it gets dark.
A matter of choice STEINEL HF-SensorLights can be set exactly the way you want at three infinitely adjustable control dials.
Elegant convenience Intelligence is something you can't see but notice. Hidden out of view on the inside, HF-technology from STEINEL switches the attractive light 'ON' "just in time". Modernisation in seconds flat STEINEL HF-SensorLights are installed in exactly the same way as conventional lights. They require no extra work and there are no additional cables to connect either. On the contrary: There is no necessity for complicated two-way double pole reversing switches and the wiring runs they involve. Investing in the future couldn't be easier or more convenient.

Intelligent Light Switches Light switches of today work automatically without having to touch them. The intelligent hi-tech switches from STEINEL are the ideal solution for all rooms in which practical lighting is important: corridors, stairwells, bathrooms, WC's, kitchens, basements, laundries as well as any room in which the need for light is only temporary. Security, convenience and energy saving because light comes 'ON' automatically. Suitable for retrofitting in standard backboxes as well as for installation in new build and contract work. Conventional switches easily replaced with SensorSwitches. Useful additional functions, such as permanent light 'ON' (4 h.) or permanent light 'OFF'. Available either in surface-mounted or concealed version. Attractive range of faceplates for combination with other switches and sockets.

Sturdy, tried and proven, long-reach sensor switch using infrared technology. In the concealed version, ideal for corridors, kitchens and guest WC's, in the surface-mounted version for basements, garages, carports and outside areas. The SensorSwitch responds to the heat radiated from moving persons. With a reach of 8 meters, they make the ideal choice even for large rooms. The IR 180 AP splashproof surface-mounted version with IP 54 enclosure protection rating is also suitable for installation outdoors or in rooms exposed to moisture.
Rapid-response, long-reach and versatile sensor switch using high-frequency technology. In the concealed version, ideal for stairwells, hallways and bathrooms, in the surface-mounted version for stairwells, basements and laundries. High-frequency detectors emit a nonperceivable signal and respond to changes in the echo pattern caused by movement irrespective of temperature. With its generous detection range, virtually instant response behaviour and a reach that can be infinitely varied between 1 m and 8 m, it is suitable even for difficult spaces.
The NF 50 UP close-range sensor switches light 'ON' or 'OFF' without touching. Ideal for kitchens, bathrooms, workshops, practices and all rooms where the emphasis is on hygiene, cleanliness and electrical safety. The NF 50 SensorSwitch is equipped with a close-range sensor that responds to hand movements close up to the sensor (within a distance of 5 cm). This makes it possible to operate lights safely and hygienically, even with wet or dirty hands.
Setting options Control dials for easy adjustment of light 'ON' time and twilight threshold are protected from accidental maladjustment behind the lift-up trim panel. Integrated pushbutton for switching to permanent light 'ON' (4 hours max.) or permanent light 'OFF'. A red LED indicates the function selected.
