The lens is mated to a Sony A100 DSLR camera. It replaced the factory Sony 18-70mm lens. The flexibility of a zoom lens this size is just great. This lens is so close in optical quality to the Nikon - and I have shot with that lens as well - that all but the most discerning will notice.

get some good filter and flash. It does make a difference between a good picture and a great one. (just learned from trial and error. very good lens for beginners zoom range, pretty fast autofocus not sharp enough (sharpness I can compare just with my Canon EF Lens - 50 mm - F/1.

I bought the Tamron AF 18-200mm zoom for my Pentax K-7 thinking it would be a fallback for when I had to have only one lens for varied use.

Terribly soft, buy a pair of lesser ranged Nikons This lens is great in most respects, ie size and handling, but optically its not so hot. TAM AF18-200 This is a very good beginners lens, especially if you are into architecture, still life or portrait photography.

I purchased this lens after long and careful consideration: How often will I use it? What do I really need for the kind of photography I do? This lens is not aimed at the more intense user, and there for performs perfactly for its user type intended.

this lense stays on my camera all the time "Good Value","High Quality","Durable" "unexpected" I bought the Rebel XTi with a 35-135 about two weeks before a vacation to Yellowstone and the Tetons. I quickly realized I needed more zoom. Lens is slow and blurry. Use the 18-70 lens from the kit and crop pictures for better results. Had an old Tamron lens I liked so I bought this.

Nature/landscape photography Consistent Output","Durable","Easily Interchangeable","Fast / accurate auto-focus","Lightweight Great Focus not sharp and fast but it gets the job done.. shots are awesome. very light, small. I would recommend to buy this if your on a budget.. This is ok lens not the best i am going to stick with my L series. I am not impressed buy i must admire rebate, I got my rebate in One week.
