Safety Precautions
Do not disassemble, repair or modify the player by yourself. Refer servicing to qualified personnel only. Keep the player clean and never store it close to heat sources or dirty, humid or rainy places and avoid direct sunlight. If the surface is dirty, please clean it with soft cloth wet with clean water or soft cleaning fluids and never clean the case with alcohol or aggressive diluents. Never use the player in extremely dry environment to avoid static discharging. Never apply heavy impact on the player like dropping it or placing it on a magnet. Disconnect the USB cable from the computer when you do not use the player for a long time. Maximum output voltage150mV

Battery

The battery used in this device may cause a fire or chemical burn if mistreated. Do not disassemble, incinerate, or heat the battery. Do not dispose the player in fire to avoid explosion because the player has built-in battery. Do not leave the battery in a place subject to direct sunlight, or in a car with its windows closed. Do not touch the player with bare hands if the built-in battery is leaking. In this case, contact service center for help since the liquid may remain in the player. If your body or clothes has been contacted with the battery liquid, wash it off thoroughly with water. Also, if some of liquid gets into your eyes, do not rub your eyes but immediately wash them with clean water, and consult a doctor. Do not connect the player to a power source other than that indicated in this manual or on the label as this may result in the risk of fire or electric shock. The supplied batteries are subject to wearout. Their capacity and therefore their lifetime depend on the number of charge/ decharge cycles. rioration of capacity. Changes in temperature like high or low temperatures, mechanical stress (like dropping down) or other environmental influences may reduce the capacity of the batteries. So use batteries within the limits of the specification only and take them out of the device, if it is not used for a longer period of time or run from wall outlet. Prior to take batteries out of the unit, you have to switch off the device and disconnect it from the charging adapter. Check charging adapters for their model number prior using it for charging the device. Only use batteries, charging adapters, and accessories which were approved from TEAC for using it with a certain device model. Using other types of equipment may void the approval for use, and/or warranty claims. Furthermore there may be dangerous implications. Please ask in case your vendor for approved accessories.

Earphone

Never use the player during driving a car or using other vehicles to avoid traffic accidents. This is also content of the law of some countries. Even while walking it may be dangerous especially when crossing the street. Please do not listen in extremely high volume to avoid any dangers. Wherever potential risks may arise, please do not use the player to ensure your safety. Hearing experts advise against the constant use of personal stereos played at high volume. Constant exposure to high volumes can lead to hearing loss. If you should experience ringing in the ears or hearing loss, discontinue use and seek medical advice. Please insert the earphone prior to turn on the player, which can not only avoid damaging the earphone but keep the player in good condition also. Turn off the player when it is not used.

Connecting to a PC
Never disconnect the player from PC during downloading, uploading and formatting to avoid failures and losses of data. When the player is used as removable disk, please follow strictly the given file download and upload procedures. Our company does not resume any responsibility for any data losses due to misuse.

Important

Please charge the battery immediately when the display indicates low battery, or the device will be powered off automatically. In this case, all settings will be saved. Please disconnect the player from PC properly to avoid data loss. Battery service life may be various from different using conditions, manufacturer and manufacturing time. Avoid losses of data by regularly making backups of your data. In both power on and power off state, the player may be charged by the connection to PC via the USB line. Supplied or connected to units cabling is subject to wearout. Especially carrying it in trouser pockets or other insufficient carrying cases, bending it, strong pulling, or buckling it, may lead to premature failure and to damages. Please ensure correct handling and keep the cabling carefully furled in cases which will void stresses to it. Whenever cables are disconnected never pull the cable. Pull the plug instead.

Before Using

Driver

Windows2000/XP/ME/Vista This player is plug & play for WIN2000/XP/ME/Vista OS. Windows98SE Under Windows98SE drivers have to be installed. Do not connect the unit to your computer before the installation of the driver is finished. Insert the provided CD into your CDROM drive or download the driver from our web site. Double click on SETUP.EXE (USB Disk Win98 Driver Version xxx.exe) and follow the instructions on the screen. Connect the MP-375SD and the PC with the provided USB cable after finishing the installation.
Connect to a PC and Download Audio Files
To connect the player with the PC for transferring files: 1. Make sure that your computer has been started before you start.
2. Plug the larger end of the USB cable to the USB port of the PC,
and plug the smaller end to the USB port of the player.

3. When the

icon appears at the right bottom of the PC screen, double click My Computer on the desktop, you see a removable disk which indicates the player. Just use the removable disk as a regular local disk, copying files from or to it.

Removing the Player From the PC Safely
For Windows2000/XP 1. Left click the icon at the right hand corner of the taskbar. 2. Click the pop-up mini-window with message of Safely Remove the USB Mass Storage Device Drive (X:, Y:). 3. When you are prompted to remove the device, pull out the player. For Windows98 Please make sure the data transfer is completed before unplugging the media player. Special reminder: Do not disconnect the USB cable when data is being transmitted between PC and player, which may damage data or cause data losses in the player. Disconnection should be conducted only when device can now be safely removed from the system is displayed; When the USB is in operation, other button is inactive. If the player fails to power on due to data loss or I/O mistake reminder by mal-operation, please refer to the trouble shooting section for solution.

Charging the Battery
The device has a rechargeable built-in polymer ion battery. It is charged via USB connection. You are required to charge it when you use it for the first time. To charge the battery, connect the larger end of the USB cable to the USB interface of PC, and connect the other smaller end of the USB cable to the USB interface of this player. The device is connected to PC and being charged. You see an animating battery icon indicating charge progress. The battery of the player is 80-percent charged in about two hours and fully charged ( ) in about four hours. If you charge the player while loading files to the player, it might take longer.
Recommended temperature for battery charging is 0C to 35C. Fully charge it before you use the player for the first time or when you havent used it for a long time. Charge the player right now when the Low battery ( ) message is displayed. Do not over charge or discharge the player. Over charging or discharging will shorten the battery life. The battery could be over discharged if the player is not used for a long time (over three months). To avoid over discharge, fully charge the player every two or three month and always keep the voltage of the battery above 50%. If the player is not used for a long time, keep it under the temperature of 235C and the moisture of 6520% RH to maintain the performance of the battery.

Note: If it is the first time for you to turn on the player or turn on the player after default settings or resetting, you have to select a display language by pressing or buttons and then press button to confirm. While the player is connected to the computer, you can also press and hold the button to turn on the player.

Lock function

All buttons of the player will be locked after you do not use it in a certain time (you can set the time in setup menu). This prevents you from accidental pressing the buttons while using the player on the move. Press and hold the buttons to unlock all buttons.

Reset function

If the player cant be used normally for some reasons (should not happen in normal operation), please use a small cylindrical plastic stick to reset the player. In this case the player should not be connected to the PC or an adapter.

Using microSD Card Slot
After connecting the player to the computer, you will find two portable devices. One is the built-in memory device and the other one is the device associated to the microSDTM card. It enables you adding up to 8GB of additional memory to your player. The player supports direct playing of songs/videos on microSDTM cards. Insert the microSDTM card into the card slot with the metallic contacts facing towards the backside of the player. To take out the card, push the card slightly into the case. After it is ejected partially you can take it out. Note: Do not remove the microSDTM card when it is exchanging data with the computer. Do not remove the microSDTM card when the player is reading contents from the microSDTM card. Otherwise, it could cause the deadlock of the player, even lost of data. Please pause the playing first and then take out the microSDTM card safely.

Main Menu
The main menu offers eight functions: Music, Photo, Video, FM Radio, Voice, E-Book, File Browse, Setup. The buttons or allow to navigate to the desired function. Pressing activates it. Press and hold until you are back in the main menu.

Using the Music Function Menu
The music function menu allows you to manage all factors of listening, such as repeating tracks, selecting equalizers, and so on. Press the FUNC button while listening to music. The music function menu appears on the screen. Press the + or button to search a menu item. Press the button to confirm the selection. Press button to go back to the previous screen. Proceed as described in the section Basic Operation. Note: After finishing the music setting, press the FUNC button to exit the music setting menu.

Equalizer
Normal, Pop, Rock, Classic, Jazz, Bass, Custom EQ To customize EQ, select Custom EQ, and press button. The Customer the EQ menu appears on the screen. Press the + or button to navigate between value bars. Use the or button to adjust the value and press the button to confirm and exit. Classify songs by their genre, artist, album and title. If it is the first time for you to classify your songs, choose Classification and select Yes, and to refresh your classification. Using Music Finder

1. Insert the CD into the CD-ROM drive. 2. Execute the Mufin_MusicFinder_xxx.exe file in the CD. 3. Follow the instructions from the pop-up windows to complete the

installation.

4. Restart the computer. 5. Double click MusicFinder in My computer to open it. Once
opened, click on Import to have your database created automatically. Now select the folder from which a database should be created. Once this is done, all you have to do is click on Import. 6. After it is finished, connect your player to the PC, copy all the files on the folder to the Root folder of you player. 7. Turn on the player, then enter music playback interface, and play a song generated by MusicFinder. 8. Press FUNC button to enter music function menu. Press + or button to select All Songs, and then select Music Finder. 9. All songs relate to the song which is playing are displayed. Use or to select a song and then press to play it.

Lyrics

The player supports MP3 lyrics display. Note: The lyrics format has to be.LRC. The name of the lyrics file and the name of the music file have to be equal. Lyrics files have to be in the same folder as the associated music files.

Viewing Photos
To view photos: 1. Press and hold the button to display the main menu. 2. Use the or button to select Photo and press the button to confirm. 3. Use or to select a folder or photo and press to open the folder or view the selected photo. 4. Press to return to previous screen. This player supports pictures in JPG and BMP formats. Press or button to skip to previous/next photo.

Playing Movies

Converting Video to MTV Format (VideoConverter.exe)
This player supports the playback of videos in MTV format. Other formats (AVI, WMV, MEPG1, Quick Time, MPEG2, RealMedia, MPEG4, 3GP) must be converted to MTV format. The MTVVideo Converter is supplied on the CD to enable you to convert the other formats to MTV format.

1. Insert the provided

CD to the CD-ROM drive of your computer. 2. Double-click the file Video Conveter. exe in the folder MTVVideoConverter of the CD. The Video Converter window appears.

Open dialog box.

Note: If your video files (e.g. MP4 file) cannot be found in the Open dialog box, select All Files (*.*) in the File of type box.
4. Click Output Video to select an output directory. 5. Click Start Conversion.
For detailed operations, click Help. Note: You have to install relevant codec package before running Video Converter.exe. If not, the system will prompt Load Video Failed! when you attempt to convert the video files. Click OK and follow the prompt to download and install codec from the web sites.

Auto Scan: Automatic Searching and Storing the Frequencies

press the button to start searching. The player automatically searches for all radio stations with the strongest reception and save them in the 20 memory locations (CH01-CH20). 2. The player will start from the first channel automatically after finishing searching. Use channel.

Use the or button to select a FM region from US (87.5-108.0), Europe (87.5-108.0) and Japan (76.0-90.0), then press the button to confirm. Note: Once you return to the FM radio mode after changing the FM Band, the player will search automatically for all radio stations in the region and save them in the 20 memory locations.

Note: The recorded files are saved in the FM folder of the MP3 player as WAV files (format: FM000001.WAV, FM000002.WAV) and can be listened to in the Voice mode. FM recording is automatically stopped when the memory of the player is full or the battery power is no longer sufficient. Data that has been already recorded is automatically saved. The volume adjustment is not available during recording.

Voice Recording

Recording can be stopped and resumed at any time by pressing. Press to save the recording and return to voice recording interface. Note: The recorded files are saved in the VOICE folder of the MP3 player as WAV files (format: MIC0000X.WAV). Voice recording is automatically stopped when the memory of the player is full or the battery power is no longer sufficient. Data that has been already recorded is automatically saved. Before starting the recording, you can set the recording quality (SETUP/Recording Setting).

Using voice function menu
While in standby mode of voice mode, press FUNC button to enter voice function menu.

Start recording. Use + or button to select Record, and then press button to start recording. or button to select Select a voice and play it. Use button to play it. a voice, and then press Exit and return to recording interface.

Reading an E-Book

This player only supports E-Book in TXT format. Other formats must be saved as TXT format before transfer. 1. Press and hold until the main menu is displayed. 2. Use oder to select E-BOOK and confirm with. The E-book list appears on the screen. 3. Select a folder or a.txt file with the or button and confirm the selection with to open the folder or view the selected file. 4. Press button to return to the previous screen. While reading an E-Book, you can: Auto paging: Press button to start auto paging for every 4 seconds. Page Up/Down: Press or button to page up/down. Fast browse Press and hold or button to fast browse. Exit: Press button to go back to the previous screen. E-Book function menu: Press FUNC button to enter E-Book function menu. Use or button to choose a percentage, and then press , it will move to approximate page of the E-Book according to the percentage.

Save and Load a bookmark

This function helps you to save the page you have read and recall it to continue reading next time. While reading an E-Book, press and hold FUNC button to enter Bookmark List.

Customizing Settings
To customize the player settings: 1. On the main menu, select the SETUP item and press the button to enter the system settings mode. 2. Press the + or button to select setting item and press the button to confirm. Use the or button to select a value. Press to return to the upper level menu. To change the current time. or to navigate between Press setup field. Press + or to adjust the date and time. Press to confirm and exit. To change the time zone. or to select a time zone. Press Press to confirm and exit. Time Zone Auto off To set how long it will power off automatically after it does not used for a certain time. Yes: The player will be always on while playing. However, it will power off automatically in standby mode if no button is pressed after the set time. No: The player will power off automatically if no button is pressed after the set time.
