1. INTRODUCTION
Your new clip is a universal service device that can be updated to perform various functions. At the moment these functions are: Ericsson Unlock Code Reader Nokia DCT3 Unlock Nokia DCT4Unlock Code Calculator Your device is supplied with SW and a data cable that will enable you to update your device with new SW as and when released. Updates may be to cover new SW versions, new handset models or even new handset manufactures!!
Battery & Charging
You must remove the battery from the data 1 for charging, you can use a desktop charger or simply put the battery in a 3310, 3330, 3410 or equivalent phone to charge.
Please remove the battery from the Data 1 to charge, your warranty will be void if you do not !!!!
Through Out This Guide Certain Terms Will Be Used To Avoid Confusion: TARGET PHONE: the phone being unlocked DEVICE: data1 Universal Device, the unlock clip ADAPTOR: cable that connects the DEVICE to the Phone connectors and to its Data Cable
Technical Support & Help: Important Information!!!!
Please before phoning for help or technical support check first that you have the latest update installed on your Data 1 !!!! 1. Go to settings > SW Version (only available after V4.24) this will display the version of the update/SW installed on your clip. 2. Go to http://www.fonefunshop.co.uk/Unlocking/dataone.htm#downloads and check your SW version against the latest available. 3. If the version on our website is newer then please download and update your clip, check to see if your issues have been resolved before phoning.
Ericsson Unlocking
All Ericsson (new Sony-Ericssons) phones are unlocked by reading the codes from the target phone to be unlocked then entering them back into the Target Phone via its Key Pad. Reading The Codes. 1. Connect the Adaptor to the Device and attach the Ericsson Connector. 2. Make Sure The Target Phone is switched OFF and the SIM Card is removed. 3. Switch on the Device and select Ericsson 4. Follow the Prompts and the unlock codes will be displayed on the Device LCD Entering The Codes Switch on the Target Phone. 1. Enter < * *< (left menu, star, star, left menu) using the joy stick or menu buttons. 2. Personalise With MNC2 will be displayed, Press the yes key 3. Unlock and the lock type below will be displayed (NCK: NSCK: CCK: SPCK:) 4. If more than 1 is displayed scroll down to the one with the closed padlock. 5. Enter the corresponding code type displayed on the Device. 6. You may need to enter more than 1, once you have entered the codes the Target Phone will revert back to displaying insert sim
Entering The Codes on P800 Switch on the Target Phone 1. Use the Jog Dial on the side of the phone JOG DIAL ROLL DOWN, *, *, JOG DIAL ROLL DOWN 2. Follow instructions above as from step 2. The Target Phone is now unlocked. T610 Important. As from update V4.25, the Data 1 will unlock nearly all T610, However the very latest version can not be unlocked via codes !! So if you try to read it with the data 1, You will not see anything !! DO NOT ENTER WRONG CODES MORE THAN 3 TIMES !!! IF IN DOUBT STOP !!! Some people are having trouble getting Some Ericsson phones to do anything when entering < * *< (left menu, star, star, left menu). You may find it helps to insert an incorrect SIM in the phone first. (Incorrect as in 1 that the phone will not accept)
Newer Models And Newer SW Versions (T610, Z600, P900, T230 etc.)
These require the DV 2mb Module to unlock, see DV module section
Nokia DCT4
(3510, 6310, 6100, 6610, 7210, 3650, 7650, 8910, 6910 etc.) All DCT4 phones are unlocked by generating the Unlock Codes using the DEVICE and then entering them into the Target Phone via its keypad.
You will need 3pcs of information before you start:
1. The IMEI number of the Target Phone (enter *#06#) 2. The network code of the network the Target Phone is locked to. 3. The ASIC, type. (2 or 5)
Generating The Codes.
1. Switch on the DEVICE, select Nokia. 2. Select DCT4. 3. Enter the IMEI of the Target Phone (you only need to enter the 1st 14 digits) 4. Enter the Network Code (see list at the back of this User Guide) 5. Enter the ASIC type, (7650 & 3650 type 5. Everything else type 2) 6. Press calculate 7. The 1st of 7 codes will be displayed, you can scroll through the rest. Entering The Codes
1. Switch on the Target Phone (no sim)
You will Get p by pressing the * (star) key 3 times quickly You will Get w by pressing the * (star) key 4 times quickly You will Get + by pressing the * (star) key 2 times quickly The best code routine is as follows:Code Code Code Code Code 1 then try sim (if you get code error stop, the other 6 codes will be wrong as well) then try sim then try sim do not try sim try sim
Note. You can also use the DEVICE to read the IMEI, Network Code & ASIC from the target phone by using standard DCT4 connectors attached via the Adaptor. If you do use connectors to read codes you can then hit UNLOCK and the Device will also Unlock the Target Phone !! Even if you have entered incorrect codes more than 5 times. This is very handy if you do not know which network the Target Phone is locked to.
Nokia 3100, 3200, 6230, 7600 can only be direct unlocked via the Memory Module
Nokia DCT3
(51X0, 3210, 6X10, 3310, 3330, 3410, 5210, 7110, 8210 etc) You must connect the Target Phone to the Device using std. Flasher/clip/data cable connectors (available separately) 1. Connect the Target Phone (no sim) to the Device 2. Choose Nokia, then DCT3 from the menu on the DEVICE 3. Switch on the Target Phone. 4. Press read on the DEVICE 5. The Target Phone will reset after about 3 seconds. 6. The Device will display the message ok The Phone is Unlocked. ISSUES. The timings of the Data 1s software has been altered, this can cause some people to get an error message when unlocking DCT3 phones. Use the following technique. 1. Connect phone to the Data 1 (phone switched off) 2. Select Nokia > DCT3 3. Switch on phone 4. Press unlock within 2 to 3 seconds off turning the phone on.
ASIC Types
ASIC 2 ASIC 5 ASIC 6 ASIC 3200, 3510, 5100, 6310, 6800, 8910, 6100, 8310, 7200, 6610, 7210, 7250 etc. N-Gage, 3650, 6600, 7650 etc. 6230 (not supported for code calc) (3g phone)
DV-Module Nokia Direct Unlock
LG phones
As from update V10, the Data 1 comes with an Unlock code calculator for LG phones as standard. To Calculate the code simply enter the IMEI number, as soon as the last digit is entered the codes will be displayed. Entering The Codes LG510. Switch on the phone with an accepted SIMCARD inside, then press these: 2945#*5101#Menu 555 > Network > Off (Enter Unlock Code) then "OK". LG B1200. Switch on the phone with an accepted SIMCARD inside, then press these: 1945#*5101# Network > Off (Enter unlock code) then "OK". LG 70xx. Switch on the phone with a accepted SIMCARD inside, then press these: 2945#*70001# Setup Menu > Security >Sim lock > Off (Enter unlock code) then "OK". Simlock menu (LG B1200): 1945#*5101# Simlock menu (LG 510W, 5200): 2945#*5101# Simlock menu (LG 7020, 7010): 2945#*70001# Simlock menu (LG 500, 600 ): 2947#*
Panasonic X60
As of Version 2.27 update for the DV module, Panasonic X60 unlock has been added, this is a free unsupported update, not all SW versions of the X60 are supported. Use the T191 connector for the X60.
Licence Keys
As options are made available to add facilities to unlock new makes and models of handsets to the Data One, You will need to purchase a Licence (or activation key) Each Licence key is unique for each Data One device (the key is generated from the Data Ones Device ID, a 24 digit serial number)
Checking The Data One Device ID
On Devices before update V4.25 Goto the main menu. Enter *#06# The Device ID will be Displayed
On Devices With Update V4.25 or Later Go to Settings Select Device ID The Device ID will be Displayed
Entering Licence Key
Simply goto the first new Function on the clip, and follow the instructions, enter the code when prompted. You will only need to enter it once.
Data 1 Basic Info !

Panasonic GD67/87, Sharp GX1/10 & Motorola T191
Panasonic GD67 & 87 Unlock
Select Panasonic from the menu. Power on the Phone when prompted (short press of power button, otherwise phone will power on) Phone will briefly say test mode The unlock codes will be displayed on the data one LCD Disconnect the phone and turn on. Enter 746 MENU MENU (press centre menu button twice) You will now see the network lock menu Select the correct one and enter the corresponding code. Enter all required codes. The phone is now unlocked.
Panasonic GD55
Panasonic is unlocked via enteric the IMEI into the Data 1, the Data 1 then generates a set of unlock codes. Enter the codes as followed in full as they appear on the Data 1 !!! Enter code 32 in full with no SIM in the phone. (**00032*) Then enter code 12 (**00012*. ) Issues. Occasionally you will get Phone Locked message, then you will need to enter all of the codes 1 after the other. Then you may find the phone will not take the original SIM, this happens if 1 of the codes has been incorrectly entered, you must put the original SIM in the phone and leave until message disappears (can take 2 to 3 hours)
Sharp GX-1, GX-10 & GX10i
Select Sharp from menu Connect phone (turned on and no SIM) Press Unlock. Wait until phone powers off. Done If phone asks for Handset Code this is like security code, the default is 0000 There are some newer Firmware Versions of the Gx10/10i that the data 1 can not unlock, these can be unlocked by using the Gx1, GX10 option of the DV adaptor
Motorola T191
Phone OFF & no SIM card Connect to Data 1 Select Motorola Power on Phone when Prompted Phone will Power on aprox 2 to 3 seconds later. Done.
Samsung Function
You will need to purchase a Licence (or activation key) in order to use the Samsung option on your Data 1, You may have purchased this with you Data 1 already, Each Licence key is unique for each Data One device (the key is generated from the Data Ones Device ID, a 24 digit serial number) Please check your invoice on details how to obtain your Licence Key.
Unlocking Samsungs
Simply choose the model of the phone from the menu. Follow the on screen instructions!! Notes Some times you need to do the opposite of the instructions displayed (phone switched on, instead of off, this has been the case on Q200 for example)
Siemens Function
You will need to purchase a Licence key for Siemens (see the information above for Samsung for more details) As of update V4.25 Siemens covered are: A50 A55 C55 S55 SL55 More models are expected to be added.
The A60, C60 can not be unlocked by the Data 1 or any other solution with out cutting through tracking on the phone PCB !!!!!!!! We do not recommend or offer support for this !!!
2mb DV-Module
The 2mb memory module expands the capabilities of the Data 1, All options for the DV-Module appear under a separate menu (Ericcson > DV adaptor). Only options in the DV-Menu require the DV Module to be used !! All other normal options on the Data 1 require the phone to be unlocked connected directly to the Data 1
Your DV module requires a Licence KEY, to function, email your Device ID to sales@fonefunshop.co.uk, along with your invoice or number and name, your licence key will be returned, simply press ok, to enter the key.
Connections
The DV module requires power at all times !! The Fly lead must be connected for all operations (see next picture)
Updating DV Unit
The DV unit is updated with its own SW
1. Connect the unit to the computer using your DataONE Updater cable which then plugs into the Short Extension, then plug this into the port closest to the cable coming from the DV Unit. 2. Make sure your Nokia Charger is unplugged 3. Run the SW and Click Smart Update 4. When SW displays Waiting adaptor plug in the Nokia charger Then update your Data 1 in the normal Way. GX-30 Unlocking Instructions (please follow carefully)
(please note this function require the purchase of a licence key, you can purchase this update HERE !!)
1. Select Gx30 then you will be presented with unlock option, press this with the GX30 Connected and powered on.
2. You will see XXXX on the handset screen. 3. After 5 seconds Press 1 on the handset keypad. 4. Wait a further 5 seconds now Press 99 on the handset keypad. 5. Press Select on the handset keypad (Right Hand Button under screen). 6. Wait 5 seconds then press number 3 on handset keypad. 7. Wait a further 5 seconds then press the select button on handset keypad (Right Hand
Button under screen).
8. After 10 seconds the handset will display "Finished" 9. 9. Wait 5 seconds now power down the phone using top right button which you have to
press 3 times.
10. Wait 3 seconds and Power the handset back on, you may now disconnect the handset
once powered on.
DO NOT REMOVE FROM DATAONE UNTILL POWERED DOWN AND DO NOT REMOVE BATTERY TO POWER DOWN !!!
UPDATING THE Data-1 DEVICE
Install the SW on your PC, and unzip the new firmware to your machine. 1. Run the SW by going to C:\Dataone\ and clicking on dataone_uploader.exe 2. Select the desired file from the list displayed. 3. Connect the device using the Adaptor to the data cable provided to comm1 4. Click update and follow the onscreen prompts.
Each Update release will contain 2 update files, e.g v_24_1.upd and v_24_2.upd, these are the same update but for data
