Before use, read the instructions and warnings given in this handbook carefully and keep the handbook in a safe place. Digital thermometer with a large LCD display for easy reading. Fast and accurate fitted with a sound signal when the temperature reading has been taken. Stores the last read temperature, to evaluate any variations. Extremely easy to use, it is kept in a practical case to avoid risk of breaking. The flexible probes can be washed, and it turns off automatically.
GENERAL WARNINGS 1 - Self-measuring means control, not diagnosis and treatment, any unusual readings must be discussed with your doctor. Under no circumstances must you change the medicine doses that have been prescribed by your doctor. 2 - Do not squeeze, bend, drop or break the thermometer. 3 - Keep it out of the reach of children. 4 - Do not expose to sunrays or direct sources of heat. Keep in a dry clean place. 5 - Do not immerse the thermometer in water or other liquids, only the probe is waterproof. 6 - This thermometer reads only the armpit, rectal or oral temperature. Do not use it for reading auricolar temperatures. INSERTING/REPLACING THE BATTERIES If the display shows the battery signal, it means they need replacing. 1 - Pull the battery cover in the direction shown on the arrow. 2 - Use a pointed object to remove the old batteries. 3 - Place the new batteries with the positive pole (+) pointed upwards and the negative pole pointed downwards. 4 - Replace the cover. 5 - Never dispose of batteries with ordinary rubbish. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE 1 - Press the ON/OFF key. For a few seconds all the function symbols light up on the display. After the thermometer displays 36.5C. When the C symbol starts flashing, the thermometer is ready for use. 2 - Place the probe as follows: IN THE MOUTH: place the probe under the tongue and keep the mouth closed for about 10-15 seconds, until the temperature stabilises. The standard temperature for this type of reading is 37C. UNDER THE ARM: place the probe under the armpit and keep the arm well pressed against the chest for about 10-15 seconds, until the temperature stabilises. The standard temperature for this type of reading is 36.7C. IN THE RECTUM: lubricate the probe with a water-soluble gelatinous solution. Do not use Vaseline. Insert the probe into the rectum for about 1 cm., until the temperature stabilises (about 1015 seconds). The standard temperature for this type of reading is 37.0C.

3 - When the thermometer gives off the sound signal, remove it. The reading is terminated and shown on the display. The thermometer turns off automatically after 10 minutes without use (in the meantime the reading is still displayed) otherwise you can turn it off by pressing the ON/OFF button. If the temperature is above 44C, the display shows HC; if it is below 32C, the temperature shows LC. MEMORY FUNCTION The thermometer stores the last reading in its memory, to evaluate any variations. To recall the last reading, press the ON/OFF button for a few seconds until the reading appears on the display; in the bottom right corner of the display, M appears. Release the ON/OFF button to continue with measuring the actual temperature. The thermometer stores the memory of last 5 reading, to evaluate any variation. To recall the last 5 reading, keep pressing the ON/OFF button and LCD displays 188.8 [*], following by indication 1M, 2M~5M while pressing the button each time. CHANGING THE UNIT OF MESUREMENT Press the on/off button. The screen shows 188.8 ( ) and then 1M. When the screen displays disappears, select the unit of measurement C or F by pressing the button. MultiThermo Lights infrared sensor detects and measures the heat on the forehead or generated by the eardrum (it shares the same blood supply with the temperature control centre in the brain and accurately reflects the bodys core temperatures). It can also measure the rooms ambient temperature. With 512 scans per second, it is fast and accurate. The highest temperature reading is displayed after one second and up to 10 measurements can be saved under its memory feature. Practical and hygienic, its reusable lens is perfectly washable, no more disposable lens filters. Easy to use, it can be automatically adapted for measuring forehead or ear temperatures just by removing the protective cap. Its liquid crystal display with large numbers is easy to read. When not in use, it can be discretely stored on its base for easy access while displaying the time and room temperature.

READ BEFORE USING Important
1. Temperature will vary depending on the part of the body. This is why you should not compare axillary (armpit), rectal, auricular (ear) or forehead temperature readings. 2. Temperature will also vary depending on the person, age, and time of day.

Recommendation

Determine your normal temperature range by taking your temperatures when healthy. These readings can be used as a form of reference to compare with future readings when ill. Is your temperature abnormally high or low in comparison to your normal temperature? Contact your physician immediately to be sure.

MEMORY

To display the last temperature taken, press the " " button, the temperature will appear along with its memory number. To display the previous; memories, press the " " button and the memory numbers will appear.
Memory Number Important: To make an accurate reading, make sure that the sensor is securely positioned in the ear canal so that the sensor lens registers heat generated by the eardrum. To do this, gently pull your ear to straighten the ear canal and fit sensor snugly by turning lightly. (The thermometer should not be used as an ear thermometer on babies between the age of 0-12 months.)

CHANGING BATTERIES

When the symbol " " appears, this means that the battery is low. When the display shows the symbol " " as well and you hear a warning beep, this means that the battery no longer works and should be changed. Press any button to stop warning beep. Button to open battery compartment - Open the battery case by sliding off the cover on the back of the unit. - Remove used battery. - Replace with a lithium 3V CR2032 battery in designated area. The larger part of the battery should be facing up. You should still be able to see the "+" sign when battery is installed. - Slide the cover back on. Unit is ready for immediate use.

MAINTENANCE

Clean thermometer sensor with a cotton swab moistened with alcohol before and after each usage. Do not use abrasive cleaners. Do not submerge thermometer in water or any other liquid because only the sensor is waterproof.

PRECAUTIONS

Keep thermometer away from direct sunlight and store well away from any source of heat in a clean, dry location. 5. Do not submerge thermometer in water or any other liquid because only the sensor is waterproof. 6. MultiThermo Light is only meant for taking temperatures in the ear, on the forehead and in the room. Do not use for taking rectal, oral, or axillary temperatures. 7. Do not touch the sensor lens with fingers. 8. Do not take temperature within 30 minutes of eating, exercising, or taking a bath. 9. Wait one minute between each temperature reading. Two readings right after each other can give slightly different measurements. Should this occur, use the average of the two.

STAND BY MODE

The thermometer goes into standby automatically after 30 seconds of inactivity.
How to choose the temperature measuring unit (Fahrenheit F or Celsius C)?
When the appliance is turned off: press button " " to start it up. The F and C symbols will appear on the screen. Rapidly press button " " (before the last recorded temperature comes onto the screen) to change from one measuring unit to the other. The thermometer is ready for use.
