Dear Customer, Thank you for purchasing the Terraillon infrared electronic thermometer. We hope you will be entirely satisfied with your purchase. To ensure your satisfaction, please read the information leaflet thoroughly before using this product.
MultiThermo Lights infrared sensor detects and measures the heat on the forehead or generated by the eardrum (it shares the same blood supply with the temperature control centre in the brain and accurately reflects the bodys core temperatures). It can also measure the rooms ambient temperature. With 512 scans per second, it is fast and accurate. The highest temperature reading is displayed after one second and up to 10 measurements can be saved under its memory feature. Practical and hygienic, its reusable lens is perfectly washable, no more disposable lens filters. Easy to use, it can be automatically adapted for measuring forehead or ear temperatures just by removing the protective cap. Its liquid crystal display with large numbers is easy to read. When not in use, it can be discretely stored on its base for easy access while displaying the time and room temperature.

READ BEFORE USING Important
1. Temperature will vary depending on the part of the body. This is why you should not compare axillary (armpit), rectal, auricular (ear) or forehead temperature readings. 2. Temperature will also vary depending on the person, age, and time of day.

Recommendation

Determine your normal temperature range by taking your temperatures when healthy. These readings can be used as a form of reference to compare with future readings when ill. Is your temperature abnormally high or low in comparison to your normal temperature? Contact your physician immediately to be sure.

When the protective cap is attached, the unit is automatically in forehead measure mode. It is easily adapted for the ears by removing the protective cap. In both modes, if the temperature is above 38C, the temperature measurement button turns red for five seconds.

2. Ear Mode

(fig. 4) - Fit the sensor probe into the ear canal until a beep signals the end of the measuring process. - Release the button. - Remove sensor from ear canal. Your temperature will be displayed.

MEMORY

To display the last temperature taken, press the " " button, the temperature will appear along with its memory number. To display the previous; memories, press the " " button and the memory numbers will appear.
Memory Number Important: To make an accurate reading, make sure that the sensor is securely positioned in the ear canal so that the sensor lens registers heat generated by the eardrum. To do this, gently pull your ear to straighten the ear canal and fit sensor snugly by turning lightly. (The thermometer should not be used as an ear thermometer on babies between the age of 0-12 months.)

CHANGING BATTERIES

When the symbol " " appears, this means that the battery is low. When the display shows the symbol " " as well and you hear a warning beep, this means that the battery no longer works and should be changed. Press any button to stop warning beep. Button to open battery compartment - Open the battery case by sliding off the cover on the back of the unit. - Remove used battery. - Replace with a lithium 3V CR2032 battery in designated area. The larger part of the battery should be facing up. You should still be able to see the "+" sign when battery is installed. - Slide the cover back on. Unit is ready for immediate use.

MAINTENANCE

Clean thermometer sensor with a cotton swab moistened with alcohol before and after each usage. Do not use abrasive cleaners. Do not submerge thermometer in water or any other liquid because only the sensor is waterproof.

DISPLAY SYMBOLS

PRECAUTIONS

1. Use of this thermometer is for monitoring purposes only and is not intended as a diagnostic tool. Make sure that any unusual readings are communicated to your physician. Under no circumstances should you change your prescribed medicine doses. 2. Do not drop or break the thermometer. 3. Keep out of reach of children. 4. Keep thermometer away from direct sunlight and store well away from any source of heat in a clean, dry location. 5. Do not submerge thermometer in water or any other liquid because only the sensor is waterproof. 6. MultiThermo Light is only meant for taking temperatures in the ear, on the forehead and in the room. Do not use for taking rectal, oral, or axillary temperatures. 7. Do not touch the sensor lens with fingers. 8. Do not take temperature within 30 minutes of eating, exercising, or taking a bath. 9. Wait one minute between each temperature reading. Two readings right after each other can give slightly different measurements. Should this occur, use the average of the two.

STAND BY MODE

The thermometer goes into standby automatically after 30 seconds of inactivity.
How to choose the temperature measuring unit (Fahrenheit F or Celsius C)?
When the appliance is turned off: press button " " to start it up. The F and C symbols will appear on the screen. Rapidly press button " " (before the last recorded temperature comes onto the screen) to change from one measuring unit to the other. The thermometer is ready for use.
