this tv is awesome. This baby is simply a wonderful addition to my setup. I actually took out a couple molex 3-ways because this fit my needs better all by itself.

The installation process is simple; however, please read all of the following instructions and notices prior to installation. This software update is intended solely for use with the TOSHIBA Models indicated above.
Notice (Read Prior to Beginning the Software Upgrade)
The following events may interrupt the upgrade process and result in an inoperative unit. 1) DO NOT unplug the Power Cord during the software update procedure. 2) Avoid loss or interruption of power during the software update procedure. 3) DO NOT Press the power button on the unit during the software update procedure. If you are experiencing problems or have further questions: Customers should contact Toshiba Customer Service at 800-631-3811. Toshiba Authorized Service Providers should contact Toshiba Technical Support Group.
Use the following procedure to update the Television software version: 1) Disconnect AC Power from the Television. 2) Locate the Service Card Reader Slot for your model version. Refer to Step A. for LCD Models 32CV510U, 32RV530U, 37CV510U, 37RV530U, 42RV530U, 46RV530U, 52RV53U, 52RV530U or refer to Step B. for LCD Models 40XF550U, 46XF550U, 52XF550U, 42XV540U, 46XV540U 52XV540U
STEP A. LCD Models 32CV510U, 32RV530U, 37CV510U, 37RV530U, 42RV530U, 46RV530U, 52RV53U and 52RV530U
1) Connect the AC power to the TV receiver and turn On the TV receiver. 2) Locate the Service Card Reader Slot located on the side control / jack assembly. This slot is identified as Service Only and is located on the right side of the cabinet. Insert the provided media card into the Service Card Reader Slot with the top of the card facing the rear of the TV as shown in Figure 1.

STEP B. LCD Models 40XF550U, 46XF550U, 52XF550U, 42XV540U, 46XV540U 52XV540U
1) Disconnect AC Power from the Television. 2) Carefully remove the Service Port Access Cover located on the back panel near the AC Power Cord, by removing the phillips head screw. Refer to Fig 2 & 3.
A correctly seated card inserts only way into the TV. DO NOT PUSH CARD FULLY INTO THE CARD READER SLOT

3) Connect the AC power to the TV receiver. Turn the TV receiver On. 4) Insert the provided SD media card with the software update into the Service Card Reader Slot on the rear of the TV receiver. USE CARE TO CORRECTLY ALIGN THE CARD INTO THE READER SLOT. INSERT THE CARD WITH THE TOP OF THE CARD FACING OUTWARD FROM THE REAR OF THE SET. DO NOT PUSH THE CARD FULLY INTO THE CARD SLOT. A CORRECTLY SEATED CARD WILL BE 1/2 EXPOSED OUTSIDE THE SERVICE CARD READER SLOT AS SHOWN IN FIGURE 4. 5) Refer to Step C to complete the firmware updating procedure.
STEP C. Updating the TV Firmware
1) After insertion of the SD card into the Service Card Reader Slot completed in Steps A or B an information window should appear as shown in Figure 5. If the window is not present, remove the card and try reinserting the card into the Service Card Reader Slot. 1) Start the software update by using the right arrow key of the user remote to highlight OK. Press enter to begin the update. See Fig 5.

1) The software updating process will begin. During the software update the TV receiver will display Software Upgrade in Progress, please wait Do not to remove power to the Television during the update process or press any keys on the remote or local keyboard on the TV receiver. See Figure 6. 2) Upon completion of the software update, a message will be displayed on the screen advising, Please remove your media card as shown in Figure 7. Remove the media card from the reader. The TV will reboot by turning Off and then back to the On condition. 3) Reset the TV receiver by turning Off the set and removing the AC cord from the AC outlet. Replace the Service Card Reader cover if removed in Step B. 4) Re-Apply AC power to the TV receiver. 5) The LED indicator will flash while the set is booting up. When the set has completed booting up the TV may be turned On. 6) Some personal settings and preferences may need to be adjusted upon completion of this upgrade. 7) Discard the SD Card upon completion. This firmware update is only intended for use with the Toshiba models indicated. Use in any other model, product or brand may result in damage to the device and/or attached equipment. 8) This completes the firmware update TOSHIBA AMERICA CONSUMER PRODUCTS L.L.C.
