State of the art 15 minute TURBO CHARGE system for fast, intelligent battery charging. The Sprint 15 minute LCD will charge AAA & AA size batteries, controlled by a microprocessor. Due to an intelligent charge control inside, the charger will switch to trickle charge after charging. V-MAX technology protects against damage from using with non rechargeable technologies e.g. Alkaline. Charge Ni-MH only. Independent cell charging, will charge 1, 2, 3 & 4 batteries of the same type at the same time.

CHARGE AND END OF CHARGE FOR AA AND AAA LCD INDICATOR
When the charger is plugged via the adaptor into the mains, the charge begins on its high current charge setting. The end of charge occurs automatically at a detection of -AV, at maximun voltage limit or at thermal criteria events. For safety reasons, the charger is equipped with a safety timer adjusted at 15 minutes for high current charging and 1 hour for low currents. The LCD indicates the state of charge when a battery is inserted. Each slot is referenced on the screen with a battery position number. When the charger is powered up without any batteries, a Uniross logo is displayed on the screen. When batteries are placed, the referenced symbol will be displayed according to the state of charge as described below:
SLOW CHARGING After a high current charge, the charger switches to a low current charge setting; the icon displayed is almost full with only the last segment blinking.
END OF CHARGE End of charge is shown by a full battery icon.
FAST CHARGING While the charger is in a high current charging mode, the battery icons are continuously scrolling.

PROTECTION

The charger is designed so that when a battery (AA or AAA) is inserted upside down, there is no contact between the charger and the battery, therefore the charge cannot begin. When a faulty or un-rechargeable battery such as alkaline is placed in the charger, the charge will not begin (Vmax detection will occur). An empty battery icon will be displayed blinking:

CHARGE AND END OF CHARGE FOR AA AND AAA
When the charger is plugged via the adaptor into the mains, the charge begins on its high current charge setting, the LED will blink green. The end of charge occurs automatically at a detection of -AV, at maximun voltage limit or at thermal criteria events. For safety reasons, the charger is equipped with a safety timer adjusted at 15 minutes for high current charging and 1 hour for low currents. In the latter case the LED indicator slowly blinks green at the lower rate. When the end of charge is detected, the LED indicator remains on continuously.

PROTECTION

By the design of the charger, when a battery (AA or AAA) is inserted on the wrong way, there is no contact between the charger and the battery. That is why the charge does not begin and the charging LED indicator does not illuminate.
