Harmoney One - Brilliant! Bought this when I finally got fed up of using 4 different controls for TV, Cable V+ box. Overpriced and will slow you down big time! At nearly three times the price of a 555 this is simply not good enough.

I have no idea what the previous reviewer was doing, but the Harmony remotes by Logitech are the best universal remotes made. The interface is simple,...

It is a great product for home entertainments per Logitechweb-site it has 225,000 devices in its database. I have own two previous Harmony remotes and this model is by far the best one yet! The touch screen is terrific and the button layout is fantastic.

I tried quite a few universal remotes, at no small expense, and each was a disappointment. With many the setup process was painstaking.

Good remote If I had to do it all over again I would probably spring for the RF feature. Whitetail This remote is a replacement for an 880 that developed contact problems under the buttons. The setup was very easy.

I replaced my old Harmony remote that stopped working after 3 years (actually I just wanted an excuse to buy a new remote). The only con is sometimes you have to be directly in front of your equipment but thats because all my equipment is in a corner. Durable.
gharris 2:00am on Saturday, July 31st, 2010
Before I purchased this remote this remote I had to use a minimum of two remotes just to watch tv and I had to be home before anyone could watch a DVD... I like the remote - the feel, the features, the button layout. It is easy to program.

Logitech Harmony One is my second Harmony remote, and the best one I have ever used. This is our second Harmony remote. As with the first, I got this one set up in under an hour. I am not a tech whiz.

KP-900 OWNERS MANUAL

Congratulations!
Youve purchased a unique wireless control. The KP-900 can be used as both a wall mounted keypad and as a hand-held remote control. The KP-900 achieves a magnificent combination of power and flexibility, simplifying and automating operation of even the most complex home theater system. Wall Mounted Keypad and Hand-Held Remote Control Once the wall bracket is securely installed on the wall, simply place the KP-900 into the bracket. Magnets snap the KP-900 into place. To use as a hand-held remote control, grasp the KP-900 from the top edge and pull it away from the bracket. One Touch Multi-Colored Backlighting Press any button to backlight the screen and the hard buttons. Integrated Sound Signaling The KP-900 incorporates a small speaker for beeps. Anytime you press a button, the KP-900 signals that it has understood your command with a beep sound.

Custom Labeled Buttons

The KP-900 is equipped with a bright, easy to read LCD screen which labels the six buttons to the right of the screen. These button labels change based on what you are watching or listening to. Thus, if you have selected Watching TV, you will see a list of buttons that are useful to that activity, while if you select DVD, the buttons will control the DVD.
Pressing the MAIN button displays the Main Menu pages of the KP-900. When you select one of the activities listed, the entire functionality of all the buttons changes to operate the selected device.

Page 1

Optional RF No Rules Operation
In combination with a Complete Control RF Base Station, the KP-900 can control your system without being in line-of-sight of the equipment. On the wall or off, that means that you never need to point the KP-900. The MSC-400, the MRF-350 or the MRF-260 RF base station are compatible with the KP-900. All incorporate RF addressing. RF Addressing gives you the ability to control equipment locations throughout your home, even if they are concealed in other rooms or are behind closed doors.
1.The KP-900 sends radio waves in every direction, so you dont have to point the remote anymore!
2.The RFX-250 RF Sensor can be freely positioned for optimal reception. 3.The base station routes IR commands to the correct IR Flasher.
4. Self-adhesive Flashers affix to the Infrared sensors on the front panels of your components. The Flashers relay commands to components. The flashers plug in to the base stations rear flasher line outputs via their 10 foot cables. Uniquely, URC base stations can also connect to rear panel IR Inputs via their adjustable IR Line Outputs.

Page 2

Securing the Wall Bracket
The KP-900 includes a wall bracket, four screws and four plastic caps to conceal the screwheads. Consult with a professional installer before attempting to secure the bracket to your wall. The included screws may not be appropriate for your walls. Before making a hole in your wall, gather the family and evaluate the best height. Like a thermostat, the KP-900 should be at comfortable eye level for most of the family, typically between 54 to 62 from the floor to the top of the bracket (60 is typical). Use a bubble level and a pencil to draw a line on the wall, then hold the bracket in place. Screw in the four screws and cover the screw heads with the included self adhesive caps. Magnets in the bracket and the keypad keep the KP-900 securely in place, yet make it easy to remove when you need a hand-held remote control.

Installing Batteries

There are two battery compartments on the rear of the KP-900. Each compartment holds two AAA batteries for a total of four AAA batteries. Open each battery cover by pressing the release and pulling back the cover on the back of the control. Remove the cover. Observe the + and - polarity indicators on the batteries. Place a battery into the compartment with the positive (+) terminal facing the bottom of the KP-900. Slide the battery up into the top position and insert the second battery into place. Now, replace the battery cover by inserting the hinged end in first, then snapping the cover back into place. Repeat the process with the second battery compartment.

Page 3

Programming the KP-900
The KP-900 is programmed via a Windows PC equipped with a USB port (programming cable included), using our proprietary software, KP-900 Editor. You can download this software from our website: www.universalremote.com Basic setup takes only a few minutes with this software. However, to fully automate an audio/video system the user must have a detailed knowledge of each component, you the user (and your preferences), and how the system is connected and operated. We highly recommend that you use a professional audio/video installer to program your KP-900 so you will be able to enjoy all the benefits of the KP-900 as well as one touch operation via macros.

An Elegant Way to Enhance Your System
Three Sets of Keys Enable Customized Installation
Each KP-900 includes 3 different sets button options.
KP-900 Narrow Band RF and MSC-400 Compatible
Any audio video system, by its very nature, includes components with high speed microprocessors which produce wide band localized RF interference. The combination of the KP-900 Narrow Band RF Transmitters with the RFX-250 provides ultra reliable RF via the extraordinarily specific narrow band reception of the RFX-250.
RFX-250 Narrow Band RF Receiver (Included with the MRF-350 and MSC-400 System)
Options for the Volume and Mute Buttons for Systems with In-Wall Volume Controls
The KP-900 is equipped with options for the Volume/Mute positions. In systems with in-wall volume controls that really have no remote controlled volume and mute, you can opt to install one of the other choices. To install buttons: 1. Place the button over the desired spot. 2. Push the button into place. The button snaps into place. Note: Buttons are not designed to be removed once installed.
Windows Based PC Software
The KP-900 Editor is completely text based, a custom configuration for the most demanding client can be set up in a fraction of the time it takes with many other remotes.

Your Walls are Sealed Up

You dont want the expense or inconvenience of construction or running wires through your walls. Adding a wireless KP-900 solves this problem and provides better control everywhere you need it. The RFX-250 is included with both the MRF-350 Routing Base Station and the MSC-400 Master System Controller. The KP-900 is compatible with the new MSC-400 Trigger protocol, which enables complex macros, stored in the MSC-400 to be individually triggered with a single button push on the KP-900 regardless of the interference and noise in the environment. The combination of very narrow transmission of digitally encoded packets sent THREE times at digital speeds in milliseconds, assures that every button press on the remote will be received by the MSC-400. Narrow Band The MSC-400s sophisticated error RF Transmission correction circuitry stores all three packets and compares them. Once two packets are identified as identical, the MSC-400 goes to work. This new technology not only increases range, but increases reliability by a vast margin. The KP-900 is equipped with both the new Narrow Band Transmitters and the new RF Protocol for the MSC-400.

Volume Control

One Touch Multi-Colored Backlighting
Press any button to backlight the screen and the hard buttons.
The KP-900 Mounts Anywhere
The mounting plate encloses the keypad. The keypad is removed from the mounting plate by lifting it out. Keypad is magnetic and locks to metal inserts inside the bracket. The keypad can mount to any surface, even most refrigerators and easily removes from mount for hand-held use.

Upgrade Your System

Adding a KP-900 enables you to operate your Home Theater from any room in your house, even outdoors. You can: turn the system ON/OFF; select what you listen want to (or watch); change songs, CDs, channels; control the volume; and much more!

Transport

Leverage What You Already Own
Second zone outputs are readily controlled with the KP-900. Its like adding new system in another room.
MSC-400 Master System Controller
Integrated Sound Signaling
The KP-900 incorporates a small speaker for beeps. Anytime you press a button, the KP-900 signals that it has understood your command with a beep sound.
