The Pioneer in Control Technology
MX-5000 - Two Way Wand!
Form Follows Function.
Personal Browsing
The MX-5000 is a 2-way wand-style touch screen color remote that provides network control of many popular IP-based components. In addition to its stunning design it offers a fully customizable GUI on a large color screen that sends vibrating haptic feedback confirming each button selection.
Haptic (Touch) Feedback
The MX-5000 revolutionizes touch screen operation for all time! Its the first remote control utilizing haptic technology, which confirms button presses with a click you feel.
2-Way via Networked Audio Video Receivers
The MX-5000 is the master of IP (Internet Protocol) over your home network. Via a comprehensive 2-way database of the most popular IP controlled Audio Video Receivers from B&K, Denon, Integra and Yamaha, your MX-5000 can display the current status and browse the media options of networked Audio Video receiver. In operation, its incredible. Now, you can see the actual volume setting no matter what you are listening to or whether the TV is on or off. No more peering into the equipment rack just to make sure the volume isnt set too high! Whenever you touch the Volume Up, Down or Mute buttons on the MX-5000, a pop up display, connected real time with your AVR, displays the current volume as you adjust it. Once youve stopped adjusting volume, the popup display conveniently disappears!
Engineered to delight both the eye and the hand
The MX-5000s bright, vivid color touch screen is mounted in a remote control where every surface, every contour, and every button has been designed to feel right. Since WiFi 2-way delivers so much more fun, youll need twice the battery life of other products and the MX-5000 delivers it invisibly, without excess weight or bulk. The weight is perfectly positioned to balance in your hand. Contours are shaped and molded into the back so that your hand can find the perfect position. The entire rear is covered with a soft texture that feels perfect against your palm.
2-Way RS-232 via MRX-1 Network Base Station
The MRX-1 is a true bridge between the network and IR, RS-232 and relay-controlled devices. In addition, it provides 2-way status and feedback via RS-232 and a voltage/video sensor to network keypads and remotes. The MRX-1 serves as a converter to RS-232 controlled devices, enabling your MX-5000 to communicate over the network to an equipment rack located anywhere in your house. Since the conversion is both ways, your RS232 device can be both controlled and can update your

Browse cover art, artist, album and titles from your iPod via the PSX-2 or a PC on your network
The revolutionary wand MX-5000 brings the power of WiFi networking to the home theater, without compromising simplicity. The high speed of the built-in 802.11 B/G WiFi transceiver enables the MX-5000 to display lists of artists, albums or songs and to display the cover art of the selected album on the Now Playing screen of the remote control from the PSX-2 Personal Server. The MX-5000 offers two independent communications and control methods simultaneously. It provides both a narrow band 418 MHz transmitter for instant control of conventional home theater components and a WiFi transceiver for high speed transfer of cover art, artist, album and title metadata.
The high speed of the built-in 802.11 B/G WiFi transceiver enables the MX-5000 to display lists of artists, albums or songs and to display the cover art of the selected album on the Now Playing screen of the remote control.
Internet Connection Provides Real Time News, Sports, Weather and Stocks
When the MX-5000 is connected to the Internet, pre-programmed modules enable instant access to personalized news, sports, weather and stocks. Unlike other devices, the MX-5000s news, sports, weather and stocks modules are user-configurable without a programmer or a PC. On a whim, you can check out the opposing teams scores, or get the weather forecast for a vacation destination.

Real Time Volume Display on the MX-5000 Screen
Whenever you adjust the volume or press the Mute button, the MX5000 pops up a dynamic link to your IP controlled Audio Video receiver (the URC 2-Way database includes popular IP controlled products from Denon, Yamaha, Integra and B&K) and displays a bar graph on the screen of the MX-5000. If you need to adjust the sound before the movie starts, you can check the actual setting in real time, by simply touching one of the Volume buttons.
2-Way Display and Control of AM, FM, XM, and Sirius Radio
Browse the radio stations available to your IP controlled home theater receiver on the screen of the MX-5000 (the URC 2-Way database includes popular IP controlled Audio Video Recievers from Denon, Yamaha, Integra and B & K).
Native URC Lighting Control Touch the Screen to Set a New Scene!
At last, you can fully control the lighting in your home without expensive black boxes and exotic wiring. A lighting system can be as simple as a single URC RF lamp dimmer on a lamp that youd love to control without getting out of your chair. The MX-5000 directly controls lights connected to URC RF Dimmers and Switches. You can brighten, dim, and recall scenes, and you can store new scenes whenever you like, without a PC or a programmer. Simply manually adjust each dimmer to the new setting, then press and hold the scene button on your MX-5000 (just like storing radio stations in your car).
PSX-2: Personal Audio Video Server for the MX-5000
Advanced Personal A/V Server: PSX-2
CE Pro editor Julie Jacobson called it the best product of CES 2009. The PSX-2 turns any iPod into an advanced A/V server with onscreen GUI. It provides 2-way on-TV content browsing and selection with cover art plus hundreds of discrete IR commands that enable one touch to music programming. It also offers on-remote GUI when installed with URCs award winning MX-6000, MX-5000 or KP-4000 keypad.
Shortcuts to Any Content Instantly Without Menus
The Shortcuts button makes navigating from videos to musical genres a simple process. Example: Touch the Artists button on the shortcuts screen to jump directly to the Artists menu. Unlike other iPod docks or traditional music servers, you are not forced to constantly navigate up, down, left and right through a maze of menus to access new audio video content.
Explore Your Content: Shuffle Exactly What You Feel Like Listening To
With other music servers, shuffle is a frustrating mix of too many kinds of music. With the PSX-2, shuffle becomes a powerful tool for listening and exploring your music collection. Imagine shuffling just your jazz, or just the songs of a particular artist. You can shuffle play any genre, any artist or any album at any time by simply accessing the MX-5000s shuffle screen.
Play More From
Imagine exploring all the hard rock albums of your youth with Shuffle Genres. When you hear a song you love, instead of having to browse through the hundreds of artists in your collection, you simply touch the Play More From button. By then selecting the More from this Artist button, all the songs from the current Artist will be played in sequential order.
PC Server for MX-5000
Powered by
Converts any PC with iTunes or Windows Media Player into a Powerful Music Server with an Intuitive, Friendly User Interface
Instead of purchasing an expensive Media PC or dedicated music server, any PC with iTunes and/or Windows Media Player can be connected to your audio system to act as a high powered music server with the most engaging, intuitive user interface youve ever seen. Up to now, the complexity of having to deal with a keyboard and a mouse in your listening room has made this an uncomfortable choice. You know the frustrating feelingsome of your music was downloaded via iTunes and some of your music via Windows Media Player, youve had to keep separate libraries. Finding the music you paid for was difficult. MX-5000 Server is a software application that, once installed on a PC, combines your iTunes library with your Media Player library. The MX-5000 utilizes its network connection via WiFi to communicate with the server software on the PC. Since all communication happens at WiFi G speeds, there are no lags or delays displaying the information or lists on the screen of the MX-5000. All your cover art, artist, album and song title metadata appear on the screen of the MX-5000. Lists are navigated via the integrated Up and Down buttons on the remote without ever connecting a keyboard or mouse to the PC. You build a queue of whatever music in on your PC and shuffle or sequentially play it, just as you like. At last, you have access to all the music youve paid for. all the music you want without the hassles. the music simply plays.
The MX-5000 can control all the PCs connected to your system as long as each is accessible via your home local area network.
No Rules, Instant Control of Standard AV Components
Unlike other WiFi remote controls, the MX-5000 uses a second RF (Radio Frequency) transmitter to control conventional gear instantly, without the frustrating delay of waiting for the remote control to join the network when you simply want to turn the system on. This provides you with instant no rules control of AV receivers, flat screen TVs, projectors, cable and satellite receivers, DVD players and changers.
Narrow Band RF in either 418MHz or 433MHz
Narrow Band ensures that broadband RFI (Radio Frequency Interference) will be ignored. However, RFI can also be site specific and centered on a particular band. For this reason, the MX-5000 can be specified in either the standard 418MHz version or the MX-5000i 433MHz Narrow Band version.
Narrow Band RF Transmission
Ensure reliability with the Narrow Band RFX-250 or RFX250i (433MHz). The RFX-250 is included with both the RFX-250 for MX-5000 RFX-250i for MX-5000i MRF-350 Routing Base Station and the MSC-400 Master System Controller (specify i series for 433 MHz versions).
Double Capacity Lithium Ion Batteries and Charging Base
The demands of WiFi and high speed transfers coupled with a large color touch screen raise the demand for power to a new high. The MX-5000 is equipped with a unique double capacity Lithium Ion battery, providing over 4 hours of continuous use before recharging is necessary. Should the MX-5000 be left on a table, it will remain in standby mode for 9 days without requiring a recharge. The attractive charging base offers an ideal angle to use while charging, so may be placed on or near your chair. In addition, the MX-5000 offers a power input at the base of the remote, so that it can be hand held while charging directly from the power adapter.
Automatic Backlighting
The integral motion sensor detects any movement of the touch screen and automatically backlights the screen. The user does not have to press any button to display the screen. Any movement of the MX-5000 renews the backlighting. Without movement, the touch screen stays lit for 1 to 99 seconds (programmed by the installer).
Not Just Color, Animated Color!
Powered by a 533MHz ARM9 microprocessor, the MX-5000 is designed for animation. The powerful central processor enables quick, fluid page transitions and animated macros.

MSC-400 Compatibility
The MX-5000 is compatible with the ultra-reliable MSC400 Trigger protocol, which enables complex macros, stored in the MSC-400, to be individually triggered with a single button push on the MX-5000 regardless of the interference and noise in the environment. The combination of very narrow transmission of digitally encoded packets sent THREE times at digital speeds in milliseconds assures that every button press on the

Full description
The MX-5000 is a 2-way wand-style touch screen color remote that provides network control of many popular IP-based components. In addition to its stunning design it offers a fully customizable GUI on a large color screen that sends vibrating "haptic" feedback confirming each button selection. Haptic (Touch) Feedback The MX-5000 revolutionizes touch screen operation for all time! It's the first remote control utilizing haptic technology, which confirms button presses with a click you feel. Not Just Color, Animated Color! Powered by a 533MHz ARM9 microprocessor, the MX-5000 is designed for animation. The powerful central processor enables quick, fluid page transitions and animated macros. Engineered to delight both the eye and the hand The MX-5000's bright, vivid color touch screen is mounted in a remote control where every surface, every contour, and every button has been designed to feel "right." Since WiFi 2-way delivers so much more fun, you'll need twice the battery life of other products and the MX-5000 delivers it invisibly, without excess weight or bulk. The weight is perfectly positioned to balance in your hand. Contours are shaped and molded into the back so that your hand can find the perfect position. The entire rear is covered with a soft texture that feels perfect against your palm. Browse cover art, artist, album and titles from your iPod via the PSX-2 or a PC on your network The revolutionary wand MX-5000 brings the power of WiFi networking to the home theater, without compromising simplicity. The MX-5000 offers two independent communications and control methods simultaneously. It provides both a narrow band 418 MHz transmitter for instant control of conventional home theater components and a WiFi transceiver for high speed transfer of cover art, artist, album and title metadata. Advanced Personal A/V Server: PSX-2 CE Pro editor Julie Jacobson called it "the best product of CES 2009." The PSX-2 turns any iPod into an advanced A/V server with onscreen GUI. It provides 2-way on-TV content browsing and selection with cover art plus hundreds of discrete IR commands that enable "one touch to music" programming. It also offers on-remote GUI when installed with URC's award winning MX-6000, MX-5000 or KP-4000 keypad. Internet Connection Provides Real Time News, Sports, Weather and Stocks When the MX-5000 is connected to the Internet, pre-programmed modules enable instant access to personalized news, sports, weather and stocks. Unlike other devices, the MX-5000's news, sports, weather and stocks modules are user-configurable without a programmer or a PC. On a whim, you can check out the opposing team's scores, or get the weather forecast for a vacation destination. Native URC Lighting Control -- Touch the Screen to Set a New Scene! At last, you can fully control the lighting in your home without expensive black boxes and exotic wiring. MX-5000 Server is a software application that, once installed on a PC, combines your iTunes library with your Media Player library. The MX-5000 utilizes its network connection via WiFi to communicate with the server software on the PC. Since all communication happens at WiFi "G" speeds, there are no lags or delays displaying the information or lists on the screen of the MX-5000.
