Enhanced Route & Sound with Car Radio
Route & Sound enables listening to MP3-files whilst being navigated to the selected destination via voice, pictogram and map guidance. Therefore the PN 2050 is equipped with a 3.5 mm stereo jack to access an audio signal. Hence, navigation indications and the sound of MP3-files can be transmitted to the cars entertainment system simultaneously and thus can be played via the speakers of the sound system.

Planning and Simulation

Even without an active GPS signal a route can be planned and displayed. In the navigation mode the starting point is calculated automatically via GPS signal and only the destination needs to be entered into the system. Whereas independent route planning (simulation) enables selection of a simulated starting point. This feature thus provides the opportunity to calculate a route between various positions, and can be fixed at home before the start.
Antiglare Coating to Reduce Reflection
In order to keep the map readable at anytime, the 3.5 touch screen monitor is optically coated and effectually backlit. Even in bad lighting conditions the antiglare coated display of the PN 2050 has good readability.

Safe & Easy Handling

Easy handling via touch screen functionality: the PN 2050 can be operated by one finger only. The device offers easy, simple and therefore safer handling. Easy handling of the system is achieved by a selfexplanatory menu on a 3.5 touch screen and an optional wireless steering wheel remote control, which communicates via an infrared connection with the navigation device. The remote control can be clipped to the steering wheel in a few grips and therefore ensures safer driving, as hands stay on the wheel and eyes on the street.

How to perform the update The files required for the update are stored as compressed data in a Zip file for free download from our internet presence. Once unpacked the files provide a so-called card image which shall be copied to an empty SD card. Important note: There are three different update files available: "Update_PN2050_S_070731.zip" ; "Update_PN2050_070731.zip" and Update_PN2050__070731.zip It is important that you only use the version that corresponds to your PN 2050!! Update_PN2050_S_070731.zip PN2050S Update_PN2050_070731.zip PN2050 PN2050_ Update_PN2050__070731.zip You will find the version number on a white label under the battery pack of the PN 2050 (see pictures).

Please follow the below-mentioned steps: Download the file corresponding to your System from the Internet (Update_PN2050_S_070731.zip", "Update_PN2050_070731.zip or Update_PN2050__07031.zip) to the HDD of your computer
o Extract the zip archive and copy all files 1:1 onto an empty SD card (do not add or leave out any files)

Note: Do not use other decompression software than WinZip since it may cause errors. If necessary, format the SD card with option Format "FAT". Before formatting make sure that there are no more files on the SD card which you still want to use later on. Minimum required capacity is 128 MB, max. 2 GB Connect the PN 2050 to the 12 / 24 respectively 110 / 230 volt power supply Switch off the PN 2050 by pressing the on / off button for longer than 3 seconds Take out the SD Card containing the map data and insert the update SD Card
NOTE: The write protection of the update SD card must be disabled (unlock)
Switch on the PN 2050 by pressing the on / off button for longer than 3 seconds The software update starts automatically and will take about 4 minutes The update has finished when both bars of the SD upgrade screens shows 100% Switch off the PN 2050 by pressing the on / off button for longer than 3 seconds Note: The "Exit- button" in the SD Upgrade screen does not work! Take out the SD card and insert the map data SD Card again Switch on the PN 2050 by pressing the on/off button for longer than 3 seconds. If this does not work, please press the reset button of the PN 2050 The update process is now finished. PN 2050 System identification should show now GUI B40-070731r1
