Make sure you have all the items shown. You should have received a Matrox Parhelia HR256 graphics card, LHF60-USB cable, LHF-60 cable, and CD-ROM.
Removing your old graphics card
Uninstall the display drivers for the graphics card you currently have installed in your computer. Restart your computer for the changes to take effect. After your computer has restarted, the Windows Installation Wizard will prompt you to install drivers for the new graphics hardware detected. Cancel the Wizard and shut down your system. Open your computer and remove the currently installed graphics card from your system.
Inserting your Matrox Parhelia HR256
A. B. Insert your Matrox Parhelia HR256 card in the first PCI slot (preferably) on the motherboard of your computer. In your motherboard's CMOS settings, make sure PCI is selected for the primary display. (For information on how to access and change your motherboard's CMOS settings, see the documentation for your motherboard.) Connect your monitor to your Matrox graphics card (there are 2 cables to connect): Connect the monitor end of the cable labelled A to the corresponding connector (labelled 'A') on your monitor. Connect the other end of this cable (labelled #1/#2 MG200) to the main connector (labelled #1/#2) of your graphics card (this is the connector closest to the motherboard). Connect the end of the cable (labelled B) to the corresponding connector (labelled 'B') on your monitor. Connect the other end of this cable (labelled #3/#4 MG200) to the secondary connector (labelled #3/#4) of your graphics card (this is the remaining connector on the graphics card, and the one furthest from the motherboard). DON'T CONNECT THE USB CONNECTOR JUST YET. THE USB CONNECTOR IS USED ONLY WHEN UPDATING THE FIRMWARE ON YOUR MONITOR.

Restarting your computer
You are now ready to restart your computer and install your Matrox display driver, as well as other software updates for your display. After your computer is restarted, Windows detects your graphics hardware and prompts you to install drivers for this new hardware. Do the following: A. B. When the installation is completed, you will be prompted to restart your computer for the changes to take effect; please do so. After your computer has restarted, right-click your Windows desktop, then click Properties. Go to the Settings tab and move the slider to the right to get a 1920 x 1200 or 3840 x 2400* display resolution. Note: If you're unable to select a display resolution of 3840 x 2400, you may not have the necessary or required firmware update for your monitor. In this case, continue to Step 5.

Updating your panel firmware
If you have a ViewSonic VP2290 monitor: go to http://www.viewsonic.com/support/drivers2.htm and download the VP2290b_UpdateTool.zip file to your desktop. (This is an archive file that contains the necessary software to update the firmware on your VP2290 22.2-inch color monitor.) *If your panel is not listed above, please refer to our website for latest version of this document.

AND THEN. A. B. Change your display resolution to a single display mode (such as 800 x 600, 1024 x 768, 1600 x 1200, etc.) to be able to properly run the setup for the file you downloaded. Run the setup.exe from the downloaded file (if the downloaded file is zipped, as in the case of the ViewSonic model, you need to extract the files into a folder on the desktop first) to install the firmware update software. Restart your computer if/when you're prompted. C. While Windows is running, connect the USB cable (on the Matrox monitor cable) to the computer's USB connector and let Windows detect and install this USB device. Run the now-installed program (firmware update software you just installed) to update your monitor firmware. Restart your computer if/when you're prompted. For step-by-step installation screenshots of the IBM Firmware Update Utility (fwupwik.exe) please see Appendix A (p.4). For step-by-step installation screenshots of the ViewSonic Firmware Update Utility (fwupwvj.exe) please see Appendix B (p.10). NOTE: When you run the application to update the firmware, you may be prompted to select the graphics card installed in your computer and, depending on the software you're using, the refresh rate. Any additional settings, such as whether your monitor is DG3 (supporting refresh rates up to 41 Hz) or a DG5 (supporting refresh rates up to 48 Hz), are automatically updated by the firmware update software.
Appendix B: Step-by-step installation of the ViewSonic Firmware Update Utility (fwupwvj.exe)
