(GB) Instructions UR Zap 2 remote control for TV sets, satellite receivers and cable boxes 1 Inserting the batteries Open the battery flap on the back of the remote control and insert 2 alkaline AAA batteries. Check that the polarity markings on the batteries and in the battery compartment are correctly lined up (+=+), then close the flap carefully. Always use undamaged, fully charged batteries. 2 Adapting to appliances In order to control your appliances you must adapt or set the remote control to them. There are two ways of doing so: direct control code entry or code search. 2.1 Direct control code entry using the enclosed list Example: setting to control a Panasonic television set: 2.1.1 Using the TV button, select to control a television set (TV). 2.1.2 The enclosed list gives, for example, the Panasonic Code 241. Please make sure you have selected the correct list for television sets (TV). 2.1.3 To prepare code entry, keep the Mute (sound on/off) button and the PWR (appliance on/off) button pressed simultaneously(!) until the lamp (LED) lights constantly. 2.1.4 Then enter the code numbers as follows: 2.1.4.1 1st number of code (hundreds = Volume -): Press the VOL(volume down) button- twice for 2 of 241. Press as often as the number indicates. (1=once, 2 = twice, etc.) 2.1.4.2 2nd number of code (tens = Channel+): Press the CH+ (channel up) button four times for the 4 of 241. 2.1.4.3 3rd number of code (ones = Volume+): Press the VOL+ (volume up) button once for the 1 of 241. 2.1.4.4 Finally, press the Mute button again briefly. The lamp (LED) goes out. To enter a 0, do not press any button. If incorrect entries are made the remote control blinks for about 3 seconds. 2.1.5 Then test the control code setting by trying to control (in this example) your television set. If it does not work at all or not correctly try a different code from the list or code search (see below). 2.1.6 To make the setting for a satellite receiver or a cable box, press the SAT button instead of TV and enter a satellite code accordingly. 2.2 Code search If the brand of your appliance is not in the list or none of the codes given fits, we recommend a code search. 2.2.1 Switch on the appliance to be controlled. Program is running. A channel number, for example, appears in the display of your satellite receiver. 2.2.2 Press the TV or SAT appliance button according to the appliance type to be controlled, e.g. SAT. 2.2.3 Keep the ON/OFF PWR (appliance on/off) and Mute buttons pressed simultaneously(!) until the lamp lights constantly. 2.2.4 Press the ON/OFF PWR (appliance on/off) button once briefly. 2.2.5 The UR Zap 2 emits a different signal every 1.3 seconds. When your appliance reacts, very quickly press the Mute button to confirm a functioning control code. It is advisable to have your finger already placed on the Mute button so that you can react quickly enough. Otherwise the UR Zap 2 emits the next signal before you have reacted. 2.2.6 Finally, test the control code setting by trying to control your SAT appliance. If it does not work correctly, please try the code search again. Note: Remember to switch your appliance, e.g. SAT, back on again if you wish to continue searching.

2.3 Code Identification You can identify the codes you have set at any time: 2.3.1 Select the appliance to be controlled using the TV or SAT button. 2.3.2 Keep the On/Off PWR and Mute buttons pressed simultaneously(!) until the lamp lights constantly. 2.3.3 Press the Ch- button briefly once. 2.3.4 Then count off the code. First press Vol briefly and count the number of times the hundred blinks, then press Ch+ briefly and count the number of times the ten blinks and finally, press Vol briefly the number of times the one blinks. No blink means 0. You can note the numbers on the back of the battery compartment, e.g. for quick code entry after replacing the batteries. 3 Operation You operate the basic functions of your appliances in the same way as if you were using the original remote controls. Select device to be controlled by pressing TV or Sat button. 3.1 Comfort buttons The Zap on One button (channel 1 button): Some appliances can only be switched on with this button and not with the PWR On/Off button. In addition, this button brings you back quickly to Channel 1 if you are able to watch many channels and are currently watching a channel with a long channel number. The lower channel number settings are frequently the most important channels. Scan: When you press this button a channel-up signal CH+ is emitted every 1,3 seconds and the following channels are shown one after the other without your having to press a button repeatedly. This function stops when you press any button and ends automatically after 2 minutes. Each understood entry is confirmed by blinking briefly. button Press the ON/OFF (appliance 5. on/off) button repeatedly, approx. every second, until appliance, reacts. - If you notice the reaction of your appliance too late and the next code has already been emitted you can go back by pressing SET and then ON/OFF again. If your appliance has switched itself off you must switch it back on again, e.g. on the appliance or with the original remote control, to continue searching. - When your appliance reacts you can also try out other buttons without interrupting the search. If some buttons do not work properly, simply continue searching with ON/OFF. 6. When your appliance reacts correctly, press the appliance button e.g. TV and end the search. The lamp (LED) goes out. - The search stops after approx. 30 seconds of inactivity. Automatic code search Your remote control finds the correct settings almost automatically in seconds: 1. Switch on the appliance to be controlled so that you can watch a TV program. 2. To start the code search, press the SET button, and then additionally the appliance button TV or DVB , for more than 3 seconds until the Power-key lamp (LED) starts to blink. 3. Then point the remote control at the appliance to be controlled while the remote control emits a different ON/OFF signal every 2 seconds. 4. When your appliance reacts, press any button, except SET, to end the search. If you ended the search too late, continue to search using the Manual Code Search (see above). 5. Finally, test the control code setting by trying to control your appliance. If it does not work correctly, please try the code search again. The code search then begins with the next code in the sequence. - Remember to switch your appliance back on again if you wish to continue searching. Code identification You can read off the 3-digit codes you have set at any time: 1. Press the appliance button of the appliance whose code you want to read off, e.g. TV. 2. Press the SET button and additionally 1,2 or 3, depending on the part of the code you want to read off. For example, if you press SET+1 and the code 153 (in this example) has been set, the lamp blinks once after SET+1 is released to show that the hundred figure is 1. All you have to do is count. The ten figure is indicated after SET+2 is released, e.g. it blinks

Dazu gibt es zwei Mglichkeiten: die direkte Steuerkodeeingabe und die Kodesuche. Wenn die UR 2 Sie nicht versteht, dann blinkt sie 2 Mal und Sie knnen danach die Eingabe wiederholen. Jede verstandene Eingabe quittiert sie mit einem kurzen Blink ihrer Anzeigelampe. und dann dazu die TV-Taste bis das Lmpchen (LED) in Powertaste dauernd leuchtet. 3. Dann drcken Sie nacheinander die Zifferntasten (z.B. 3). 4. Nach der Zifferneingabe erlischt die Lampe und die Fernbedienung ist bereit zum Steuern Ihres Gertes. 5. Zum Abschluss testen Sie den eingestellten Steuerkode, indem Sie versuchen Ihr TV-Gert zu steuern. Funktioniert es nicht oder nicht richtig, dann versuchen Sie bitte einen weiteren Kode aus der Liste oder die Kodesuche, s.u. Die Kodesuche Wenn die Marke eines Gertes nicht in der Liste steht oder kein angegebener Kode passt, empfiehlt sich die Kodesuche. Manuelle Kodesuche 1. Bitte das zusteuernde Gert einschalten. Programm luft. 2. Zur Vorbereitung der Kodesuche drcken Sie kurz die Tasten SET (Einstellung) und dann dazu die Gertetaste TV oder DVB bis das Lmpchen (LED) dauernd leuchtet. 3. Dann Fernbedienung auf das zu steuernde Gert richten. (Gert 4. Einmal kurz EIN/AUS ein/aus)Taste drcken. Das Lmpchen (LED) blinkt. 5. Wiederholt, ca. jede Sekunde, EIN/AUS (Gert ein/aus) Taste drcken bis Gert, reagiert. - Wenn Sie die Reaktion Ihres Gertes zu spt bemerkt haben und schon der nchste Kode gesendet wurde, dann macht das nichts: Sie knnen die Suchrichtung umkehren, indem Sie SET und dann wieder EIN/AUS drcken. Hatte sich Ihr Gert ausgeschaltet, so mssen Sie es, z.B. am Gert oder mit der Originalfernbedienung zur weiteren Suche wieder einschalten. - Wenn Ihr Gert reagiert knnen Sie auch andere Tasten probieren, ohne die Suche zu verlassen. Wenn einige Tasten nicht richtig funktionieren, suchen Sie einfach weiter mit EIN/AUS. 6. Wenn Ihr Gert richtig reagiert, drcken Sie die Gertetaste TV oder DVB, und beendenden so die Suche. Das Lmpchen (LED) geht aus. Die Suche wird nach ca. 30 Sekunden Unttigkeit abgebrochen. Automatische Kodesuche In wenigen Sekunden findet Ihre Fernbedienung fast automatisch die richtigen Steuereinstellungen: 1. Bitte das zusteuernde Gert einschalten sodass ein TV Programm luft.
