Hi. Due to financial difficulty, I am forced to sell my 1966 VW Beetle. I bought this car in 2004 and have done a lot of work to it and sunk a ton of money into it, over $6,000. It's got new floorboards and front end, new brakes all around, a suped up 1835cc engine with oil filter bypass, dual dellorto high performance carburators, and 12v electrical system. It's got the original interior, including lowback seats, that needs some serious work. I've got two new competition style black seats that I bought but never installed that I'll throw in as well. I've also got an external oil cooler radiator and fan that I never installed that you can have as well. The car runs, but the tags are expired. Local pickup only. I will accept paypal or cash in person.
On Feb-03-11 at 21:28:03 PST, seller added the following information: The engine is in the car, and it runs. Some of these pictures were from the restoration process and from when I was putting the engine into the car. Shown for detail of engine and the new floorpans.

Hello Thanks for loooking: Up for sale is our beloved 1966 VW Beetle Convertible, light blue in color with a Buckskin top with black interior. We hate to have to sell but we are in the process of opening our new business, so we need the extra cash. The car runs great and turns heads everywhere we go. People often ask to take photos with the car, it seems everyone has a Beetle story. We purchased this Vw a couple of years ago from a semi colector. He performed a mild restoration a few years ago and it looks great still today. This is not a show car or 10 point trailer queen. It is a very cute driver and runs and drives great. I have installed a new battery and new White wall bands "port-awalls", old school cheap style.The tires are almost new and all the mechanicals work, and lights all work including interior dash lights. The top is in perfect shape. There is some surface rust under the car but nothing effecting safety or structure. Car leaks a few drops of oil everytime we come home from driving, but don't they all.nothing serious. Have alot of paperwork from previous owner of the things replaced with new. Here is a few: Master cylinder,left/right front wheel cylinders,Inner wheel bearings,rear wheel bearings,rear drums are new, New 6 volt generator and regulator, replaced front and rear brake lines,new 6 volt coil,new plugs,rotor, dist cap, new points,2 new window winders,new convert top,new convert frame, lots of new rubber not installed. There have been new body panels intalled front and rear, Floor pans were replaced, Repaint in 2003 still looks good but are a few blemishes and scratches, remember it's a driver. There are $100s of dollars in receipts for miscelanous parts I have a folder full of them. I am not a VW pro or collector but will try to answer any questions or concerns..This is a nice Daily driver that has little left to do to make it great. We have put it in many local car shows and it always draws a crowd. Good luck and happy bidding. I will help with transport logistics but cost is buyers responsibility
