HI, I have a Yaesu FT-8000R dual band radio that I would like to help get supported in CHIRP. I can loan the radio and cable. The radio is modified for wide RX/TX. If useful, I can provide a PDF of the user manual & 23 pages (only) of the service manual. The USB FTDI cable is from Valley Enterprises "Yaesu USB FT-7800 FTDI 10 feet". Also known as part#: RPC-Y7800-U-3M. You may already have a similar cable. I believe that this is the right cable, and it does fit into the back of the radio. What are you asking? 8800R is already supported. If you want to start on the FT-8000R, do a download using any of the Yaesu drivers. It'll undoubtedly be the wrong length, but will give you something to start with. Save the.img and open it in a hex editor. You should see some patterns that look like frequencies, and it'll repeat 55 times.
