2. DSP Through

In the DIGITAL input mode, AC3/PCM AUDIO signal is automatically identified. There are 3 sub-menu items. YSS908-SRAM The main L/R signal is sent through AC3D2av into DSP. After passing through SRAM, the main L/R signal is output through L+R and C/LFE and RL/RR signals through (L+R)/2.

(L+R) (L+R) /2 (L+R) /2

YSS908-SRAM The main L/R signal is sent through AC3D2av into DSP. The main L/R signal is output through L+R and C/LFE and RL/RR signals through (L+R)/2.
DSP FULL BIT The main L/R is input through AC3D2av to DSP and then output through all channels. The head margin is eliminated and the digital data is output in digital full bit. The same applies as YSS908 except that the digital data is output in full bit at D/A.
AUX IN VOLUME : : 20dBV, Both ch MAX
MAIN L (1kHz) MAIN R (1kHz) LFE (30Hz) REAR L (1kHz) REAR R (1kHz) : : : : : 11dBV 11dBV 13dBV 17dBV 17dBV
Full bit: The digital data is normally output with a head margin for each of C and RL/RR channels. In this menu, no head margin is used and the digital data is output in full bit so as to obtain the A/D and D/A characteristics fully. Note that this means the analog gain after D/A is larger as compared to L/R. Also, the LFE channel also outputs the signal in full bit.

3. AC-3 Through

Only the signal of the digital system is input. The AC3 signal is decoded and reproduced according to the input source. The AC-3 signal in each channel is AC-3 decoded and output through AC3D2av. The combined status information of the sampling frequency and the number of channels of the AC3 signal appears on the Fl display.

As signal identification is executed in normal AC-3 reproduction, the source (DAT, CD-ROM, etc) without digital data bit of IEC958 cannot be reproduced even when it is AC-3 encoded. On the other hand, as this menu does not execute such digital data bit identification, these sources can be AC-3 reproduced. (To measure characteristics during AC-3 reproduction, use the AC-3 decoded sine wave.) However, note that with the sources that have not been AC-3 encoded, a decode error occurs and muting is applied. In addition, by displaying the combined status information of the sampling frequency and the number of channels of the AC-3 signal on the FL display, malfunction of the decoder can be detected.

4. Pro Logic

The sub-menu items include selection of Pro-logic (The auto input balance is off.) and EFFECT OFF.
CENTER LARGE When the analog, PCM audio or AC-3 2/0 mode is used, L, R, C, S signals are prologic decoded and output. When the AC-3 mode other than 2/0 is used, the pro logic function does not work and the signals are AC-3 reproduced.

Waveguide Horn

3cm Aluminium Dome Tweeters with DC-Diaphragm and New Frame (525 A-PMD and 325 A-PMD Series) The high-performance tweeter features a dome made of an aluminium, with a DC-Diaphragm that integrates the diaphragm and voice coil. The magnet is an new extra-powerful neodymium type. As a result, the tweeter is extremely light to minimize sound loss, yet is highly durable. It is capable of reproduction all the way up to 100kHz, which is exceptional performance for a 3cm dome tweeter. Highs are crisp and clear even at high power levels. High-Performance Crossover Networks (525 A-PMD and 325 A-PMD Series) The crossover networks use high-performance Solen capacitors with extremely low loss characteristics, ensuring fast response. Innovative Two Separate Chambers with Vertical and Slanted Partitions (NS-525F) The cabinet has two separate chambers for the three drivers. The interior has vertical and slanted partitions to decrease standing waves. This

Only the RX-V861 and RX-V661 SCENE buttons can power on source units, and they can only power on Yamaha DVD and CD players. The RX-V461 and RX-V361 SCENE buttons can not turn the receiver power on.
A new level of operating ease (RX-V861, RX-V661, RX-V461 and RX-V361) With Yamahas new AV receivers SCENE feature, at the touch of a button you can be watching a DVD within seconds! Conventional start up of an AV receiver requires you to turn on components such as a DVD player, select the source (i.e.: DVD player) you need to ensure it is on the right DSP programme and then you can press play. However, with Yamahas SCENE feature all you need to do is press one button which will automatically turn on the DVD player, it will ensure that it is on the right DSP setting and it will even start the movie for you! So how does it work? The new series of AV receivers from Yamaha all come with four SCENE buttons and each one is preprogrammed to perform a different function. The default settings of these SCENE buttons are DVD Movie Viewing, Music Disc Listening, TV Viewing and Radio Listening. If however, you have different preferences

Advanced PMD Woofer and Midrange Cones In order to provide very fast attack time (sound rise and fall), as well as excellent midrange clarity and bass response, Yamaha developed Advanced PMD (Advanced Polymer-injected Mica Diaphragm) cones that are extremely light, rigid and sturdy. They employ a low specific gravity material called PMP (Poly-Methyl-Pentene) that is much lighter than either paper or polypropylene. Precisely determined amounts of mica and talc are added, which testing has proved contribute to the beautiful quality of sounds in the vocal range. These drivers internal loss characteristics decrease unwanted resonances to achieve the smooth frequency response that results in natural sounding vocals. The midrange driver creates a feeling of presence as if someone is actually singing in the room, while the dual woofer design delivers deep and tight bass. Aluminium Dome, DC-Diaphragm Tweeter The high-performance 3cm aluminium dome tweeter delivers crisp and clear highs at all power levels. It employs a fully integrated diaphragm/voice coil structure called the DC-Diaphragm that eliminates extraneous materials for a cleaner sound. It is extremely light yet durable, and for a small unit transmits an extremely large amount of detailed sound information, resulting in a denser sound DC-Diaphragm field. Tweeter Plate A diecast aluminium tweeter plate isolates the tweeter from cabinet vibration and provides a solid attachment for the tweeter unit, so the high range sound is clear and transparent, with no colouration. All Parts Selected for the Highest Possible Performance The edgewise-wound ribbon wire voice coil contributes to high resolution, exceptional sound detail and excellent imaging. The spider is a high performance model made by Kurt Mller of Germany. Diecast aluminium baskets ensure solid support for high stiffness, improving sound image Spider by Kurt Mller localization and depth (High linearity suspension) reproduction. The midrange driver is powered by a newly designed, compact and powerful neodymium magnet. Carved Wooden Port Each port is carved from carefully chosen, high quality wood. The port has very thick and rigid walls and a flared shape, ensuring a smooth sound flow that contributes to Wooden port bass sound with a more spacious and massive feel.

CDR-HD1500 HDD + CD-R/RW Digital Audio Recorder
More Easily: Ripping, Editing, Playback and Burning New CDs If listening to music is important to you, the CDR-HD1500 is going to make your life a lot more enjoyable. You can rip over 400 CDs onto the hard disk, then group the songs together for playback and recording. Creating your own personal CD collection is easy and fun. Youll also appreciate the CDR-HD1500s superb audio quality, high speed operation, versatile functions and fast music access. In fact, the more you use it, the more youll realize that this is a machine designed by music enthusiasts, for music enthusiasts. Make the most of it! Extremely High Quality Recording and Playback The CDR-HD1500 uses a Linear PCM recording system, which means the music signal is recorded without being compressed, so no quality is lost. In addition, recording from CD to hard disk and back to CD maintains full digital quality throughout the process. A high performance 24-bit D/A converter ensures optimum audio reproduction, and a 24-bit A/D converter is used for best quality analogue source recording. And finally, unlike PCs with a hard disk and CD recorder, the CDR-HD1500 is designed exclusively for audio use all memory and technology is dedicated to maximizing audio quality. Audio Master Quality Recording This is an exclusive new Yamaha recording process that provides even higher quality when creating CD-R discs. It creates bigger pits and lands (the space between pits), enabling higher recording accuracy. In fact, it raises recording quality to the level of professionally prepared music CDs. This greater capacity demanded by this type of recording requires a hard disk drive, so it is only possible with the CDR-HD1500. Flexible Editing Functions The hard disk drive makes it possible to edit the stored music before creating a new CD, unlike ordinary CD recorders which dont let you edit once the music is recorded. The CDR-HD1500 takes full advantage of this ability, offering a large choice of editing features. Individual tracks can be combined, split, faded in/out, moved, erased and more, all with no loss of quality. You can even edit during playback just press the Menu key and the CDR-HD1500 enters the editing mode. In addition, you can create and edit your own disc, album and track titles via the Jog dial or a PC.
