High Sound Quality 55W x 5 Yamaha Original Digital Amplifier The DVX-S150 incorporates an extremely powerful and sophisticated amplifier. Power is 55W to five channels, plus 100W from the subwoofer amp, as much as many high-end home theater systems. Whats more the amplifier has an advanced digital design. Its highly efficient, so can be made smaller, and it delivers its power output with very low distortion. 192kHz/24-Bit Audio D/A Conversion for High Sound Quality Digital to analog conversion, an important factor in the signal path that can greatly affect sound quality, is accomplished by 192kHz/24-Bit D/A converters for all channels, which are much more precise than conventional 96kHz types. High Performance Speakers Speakers are extremely important to the success of a home theater system, and the DVX-S150 units are up to the task. The five speakers (two front, two rear and one for the center to handle mainly dialogue) deliver exceptionally high quality surround sound, and have a compact, stylish design. 100W Advanced YST Subwoofer Yamahas patented Advanced Active Servo Technology (Advanced YST) generates incredible bass from small speaker enclosures. Advanced YST is the ideal method of combining amplifiers and speakers for maximum performance. This systems advanced negative impedance converters intelligently adjust the negative impedance generation as the speaker moves, creating a hard, rigid cone that prevents deep resonant waves from leaking out of the speaker cone. This means the full power of the waves is forced out through the air port, resulting in clear, powerful bass.
Surround Realism Yamahas Exclusive YSS-948 32-Bit Floating Point Quantization LSI The decoding circuitry performs Dolby Digital, DTS and Dolby Pro Logic II decoding with extreme accuracy. Two special programs (Dolby Digital Matrix 6.1 and DTSES Matrix 6.1) allow the decoding of 6.1channel movies (extra speakers not necessary). SILENT CINEMA The SILENT CINEMA mode allows private enjoyment of multi-channel music or movie sound through ordinary headphones. Night Listening Mode for All Surround Programs By engaging the Night Listening mode, you can reduce the volume and still enjoy proper tonal balance and dynamic range. You hear dialogue clearly and the music and action are just as exciting. High Picture Quality Progressive Scanning DVD Player Video displays use two types of scanning systems: interlaced and progressive. In brief, progressive scans twice as fast as interlaced, providing a superior picture with less flicker and other distortion. The DVX-S150 has a progressive scan processor built in and eliminates the jagged edges that generally appear in moving images when interlaced video is converted to progressive.
