Before installing the card, you must refer to the owners manual of the host device or to the Yamaha website (Guidance on the use of Mini-YGDAI cards page) to verify that your host device supports this card, and to verify the number of cards that can be installed in combination with other Yamaha or third-party cards. Please note that the MY16-AE/AT/TD cannot be used with the following models of Yamaha product that accept option I/O cards (Yamaha MY series and third-party products). Models: 01V, AD824, AW2816, AW4416, D24, DA824, DIO8, DME32, SREV1 To use the MY16-AE/TD card in a DM2000 or 02R96, the following system software is required: DM2000 Version 1.14 or later. 02R96 Version 1.06 or later. See the Yamaha Web site for upgrade information. Do not attempt to disassemble or modify the card. Do not apply excessive force to board connectors or other board components. (Mishandling of board may lead to shock, re hazard, or equipment failure.) Be sure to disconnect the power cable from the main unit before installing this card (to eliminate shock hazard).

CAUTION

Failure to observe the following precautions may lead to personal injury, or may result in damage to equipment or other property.
Do not touch the boards metallic leads (pins) when handling the card. (Pins are sharp and may cause hand cuts.) The card is electrostatic-sensitive. Before handling the card, you should briey touch the main units metal casing with your bare hand so as to drain off any static charge from your body. Yamaha assumes no responsibility for data loss, equipment damage, or injury caused by inappropriate handling or usage.

The MY16 series Mini-YGDAI Digital I/O card can be used with Yamahas DM2000, 02R96, DM1000 and future digital consoles to provide up to 16 channels of simultaneous ADAT-format (optical), AES/EBU-format (D-sub 25 pin) or TDIF-format (D-sub 25 pin) I/O via a single expansion slot. All 16 channels can be used independently at sample rates up to 48-kHz, or the MY16 card series can be used for double channel connection to 96-kHz recorders providing 8 channels of I/O at 88.2 or 96-kHz.

DM2000

Connection with 96-kHz recorders
Although the DM2000, DM1000 and 02R96 handle 96-kHz audio as standard, most of the currently available digital recorders can handle 96kHz audio only in double channel mode (using 2 tracks to make one). In this configuration the DM2000, DM1000 and 02R96 use one channel for one (96-kHz) track, but twice the number of I/O connections must be used. The newly introduced MY16-AT/TD/AE cards can handle 16 channels of 44.1/48-kHz audio or up to 8 channels of 96-kHz audio in double channel mode. With the newest recorders that handle 96-kHz audio as standard (in double speed mode like the DM2000, DM1000 and 02R96) you can make standard connections using the MY8AE96(S) card. MY8-AE96(S) card can work either in double speed or single speed mode.

All slots are 24 bit/96-kHz compatible, so you can select mini YGDAI cards to create the input/output configuration thats perfect for your needs. Whether you need digital I/O in ADAT, TASCAM, or AES/EBU format, or extra analog I/O capability, the appropriate cards are available.
