| When searching for a tv, people like me always want the best at the cheapest. Let me explain why this tv is so great purely on comparison. This television has a good sound quality and the best picture I have seen on any tv! I took a few months researching LCD & plasma TVs before upgrading my Panasonic 26" LCD TV (I bought a couple of years ago). | |

In this capacity, Hughes conducts the Symphony Orchestra, Wind Symphony and Chamber Winds, guides the master's and doctoral programs in conducting, and administers all aspects of the university ensemble program. In addition to his university responsibilities, Hughes serves as resident guest conductor for the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra. Prior to this position, Hughes served on the faculties at Lander University and the University of Colorado. Born on Bloomsday in Aspen, Colorado (USA), Hughess interest in the beauty of music began early. He decided to pursue conducting as a profession after experiencing the artistry of many of the great conductors who were in residence at the Aspen Music School. REHEARSAL VENUES There are quite a number of halls and other venues in the CBD area that may be suitable for your band to use should you require a rehearsal venue over the Easter Weekend. This list is published on the Nationals web site at www.sabandassociation.org/nationals Bands will need to contact venues direct to make arrangements.
PHOTOGRAPHER The organizing committee has engaged the services of Shaun Murray as the official photographer for the weekend. Details of where and when the photos are to be held will be made available in the near future.
OFFICIAL ACCOMPANISTS An official accompanist will be appointed for each solo section. Names and contact details of these accompanists will be made available very soon. Soloists are reminded that it is their responsibility to contact the accompanist for their section should they wish to arrange a rehearsal prior to the contest. The cost for such a rehearsal is also borne by the competitor. Players are able to use their own accompanist if they wish, however, please be aware of NBCA regulation 9.8 which states that: In any Solo Competition, competitors may use an accompanist other than the Official accompanist provided that by doing so the order of playing is not altered after the commencement of that Competition. The official accompanist shall be used in the case where a Competitors chosen accompanist is not available at the competitors starting time. Due to the high number of entries, there are several solo sections running at concurrent times, and players should take this in to consideration when choosing an accompanist other than the official.
Please note that the number of entries has worked to ensure that we have a very full programme over the course of the contest. Please take in to account the potential for clashes when making decisions on the use of permit players. There is no capacity to delay your bands performance to wait for permit players to free up from other venues.
PERCUSSION EQUIPMENT Percussion equipment will be supplied for each brass and concert band grade, and for the percussion solo sections. Equipment provided on-stage will be large items as prescribed by the scores of each of the test pieces. Bands will need to provide their own sticks/beaters/mallets and small auxiliary items. A complete list of percussion to be supplied will be provided in the near future. There is a grand piano available in Elder Hall. Please contact the organizing secretary if your band requires additional large percussion items. Every attempt will be made to accommodate special requests, however this will be dependent on local availability of equipment.
PARADE OF BANDS The Parade of Bands will take place on Saturday 23rd April from 9am. Bands will march down the popular Rundle Street, entertaining Saturday morning shoppers and caf patrons. There have been a number of enquiries with regard to the adjudicated change of direction. This will be a right change of direction as bands leave Rundle Street and turn in to Frome Street at the end of the march. More detailed information including confirmation of meeting points, inspection and step-off times will be advised closer to the event.
