I love this piece of technology to bits. I would give it a 5 star rating and recommend it to everyone IF they had the software. Tons of great features. Buttons are not that bad. Audio quality is second to none. It really makes your music sound better!

Dear Parents/Carers, We are doing well with our Premiers Reading Challenge (PRC) this year with many students already completing the challenge. This year we are aiming BIG! We would like to have all students complete the Premiers Reading Challenge! Please encourage all children to read their PRC books as soon as possible and to keep on reading if they have already done so. All students are entered from Kindergarten to Year 6 into the Premiers Reading Challenge. We would like to achieve 100% this year and I hope to see this achieved as soon as possible. If anyone is unsure about what to do, please consult your teacher.

WILKINS GREEN NEWS
The May Working Bee was an astounding success last weekend. Despite the weather predictions, droves of families and interested community members turned up with smiles and spades and energy to share. In five hours we created six raised beds, a temporary fence enclosure for baby chicks within the chicken coop, cleaned, weeded, mulched and transplanted, planted 11 fruit trees and made a metal fence around the new water tank. An awesome effort everyone. Well done.

HEAD LICE

Dear Parents/Carers, There has been an outbreak of head lice at the school. We are asking all parents to examine their childs hair for any signs of lice infection. The lice themselves are very hard to find because they move around on the head. Therefore, you could be looking for eggs. These appear as tiny silvery white specks attached to the hair shaft near the scalp. Other signs of lice infection may be a red rash and scratch marks on the scalp, nape of the neck or behind the ears. Please ensure that bed linen, towels and clothing are washed in hot water and detergent. Combs and brushes also need to be washed in hot soapy water. As head lice are highly contagious it is suggested that you examine and treat all members of the family. Students with head lice may return to school when treated.

WILKINS GREEN NEWS

The 'Brawn n Prawn' day on Sunday 30th May is gathering momentum!. Ian Cranwell (Otto's dad) has already designed and made a raised bed using the railway sleepers, with the aid of Bob Boyd. (Matt's dad). It is in Mr. Fry's old plot and is looking terrific. Well done Ian and Bob! We have marked out 5 more raised plot areas - the big building day is coming up fast - please let either Imogen (imogenRoss@yahoo.com.au), Tamra (tamra@outlookproductions.com.au) or Fiona (gainsfordfamily@optusnet.com.au) know if you think you may be able to make it with your family - we need to pre-order the prawns, and plan the teams. All are welcome. We have a new task to complete that day as well - the four baby chickens that Globe Preschool have been hand rearing are ready to join the Big Gals. To stop them being bullied and pecked, we need to build a temporary fence and chook house for them. We would appreciate any offers of help to construct something at the Working Bee. Imogen is on the hunt for appropriate building materials - she thinks a dogs kennel may be a good temporary chook shed for the babies. Does anyone have something like that we can borrow for a few months? Or a better idea? The Fresh Produce Stall is stopping until the garden starts to produce more Salad greens and vegetables. It will start up again in the courtyard after school in Third Term. Watch this space. Until then, parents are very welcome to come down and visit the Green, with or without their children, during school hours. Imogen is there on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 12 and 3.30pm, so come by and say 'Hi'.
