Designed to blend easily with larger flat panel display monitors and rear-projection displays, the YSP-1000 offers enhancements that allow for easy, automatic set-up, video switching and sound optimization for your room. The YSP-1000 contains 42 digital amplifiers to power 42 sound drivers, delivering remarkable multi-channel enjoyment from a single, elegant component.
Features such as IntelliBeam (Automatic System Calibration) ensure that each sound beam is precisely directed, then the total beam sound effect is analyzed, after which frequency response and other parameters are optimized for your particular room.

The compact, stylish YSP-800 utilizes 23 individual digital amplifiers to power 23 sound beam drivers. Designed to be coupled with smaller flat panel displays, this Digital Sound Projector can also be used on rear-projection, floor-standing video displays, or even within entertainment cabinetry.

The Yamaha Digital Sound Projectors employ multiple small speakers, each with it's own digital amplifier, and our unique projection technology to control the orientation of the sound. By focusing the sound into beams and controlling the speaker delay times, the listener perceives the sounds to be coming from additional speakers placed throughout the room, when in fact there is only the Yamaha Digital Sound Projector.
Sophisticated Digital Sound Projector technology precisely controls the direction of the sound by focusing it into beams. The sound is both direct and reflected off the walls so the listener hears sound from the front, sides and back. The result is true multi-channel surround sound that is just like a
multi-speaker system without the need for extra speakers or cables. Multiple channels (two channels in the stereo mode figure) are overlaid to recreate the desired sound. In a multi-channel configuration, the sound beams are placed together, recreating the sound of multi-channel surround.

Stereo: The left and right woofers, with the multiple beam speakers acting as tweeters, reproduce the effect of conventional stereo speakers. Stereo + Three-Beam: The L and R channels are produced using stereo mode while C, Ls and Rs are produced using beaming. This mode is effective when the YSP is placed in a corner.
Three-Beam: Three beams are produced: L+ Ls, R+ Rs and C. Reflecting the sound off the walls creates a surround sound effect. Targe Mode: A single beam is focused on one specific direction providing a specific area with audio from the YSP great for listening outside the normal preset area.
Five-Beam: All five channels--L , R, C, Ls and Rs--are given separate orientations. Sound is beamed off the walls to create the effect of a surround system with rear speakers.

Setting up the Yamaha Digital Sound Projector is much easier than a conventional home theater system because multiple speakers and extra wiring are eliminated. Installation of this system is so versatile that you can place it next to, or on top of, your video display or if you have a wall mounted flat panel video display you can use the optional wall-mount bracket to place it securely on the wall. No matter if your room is square or rectangular, or if you have to place your Digital Sound Projector in a corner or another part of the room, the system is flexible enough for virtually any room configuration.

Yamahas exclusive IntelliBeam feature ensures optimum multi-channel reproduction with accurate image localization. By monitoring the sound with the supplied microphone and analyzing it, IntelliBeam automatically sets the best beam angles and mode, and optimizes the level and frequency response of each beam. This makes initial setup both extremely simple and acoustically perfect. Manual setup is also possible.

VOLUME MODES

Connecting the Digital Sound Projector is much simpler than connecting conventional home theater systems because multiple speaker cables are not necessary. Completely compatible with DVD, satellite and cable TV broadcasts, the Digital Sound Projector even offers an on-screen menu that provides easy access to a wide range of customizable features. The YSP-1000 is so versatile that it incorporates video switching of the two component inputs to a component output, or three composite inputs to a composite output that allow for easy compatibility with your video monitor. For easy navigation of the setup menus, both the YSP-800 and YSP-1000 provide access to the menus using an on-screen display.
During low-volume listening, such as late night viewing, dynamic range suffers and you may lose some sounds. The Night Listening Enhancer offers two settings, Cinema and Music, with three levels of selection that ensures you dont miss movie dialogue, quiet segments, or the
overall surround sound experience. The new TV Equal Volume mode has been added to the Digital Sound Projectors to prevent sudden bursts of loud sounds occasionally experienced when a commercial comes on while viewing your favorite shows.
YSP-1000 CUSTOM INSTALLATION COMPATIBILITY
The YSP-1000 supports IR pass-through signal transmission that allows for the convenient operation of other components. Once the Remote Control Sensor receives an IR signal on the front panel, it is then
directly output through the IR-OUT terminal to control the other devices. An RS-232C interface is also provided for custom control applications.
