DBR Metro Project Directorate
The General Assembly of the Capital City established DBR Metro Ltd. in 1997 (under the BKV Public Transport Company's authority) with the purpose to prepare and to co-ordinate Metro project development. Since the Government and international financial institutions made a decision to provide their contribution to the benefit of BKV Co.'s, in February 1999 the organisation has been operating under the name of BKV Rt. DBR Metro Project Directorate ("BKV Rt. DBR Metr Projekt Igazgatsg").
The scope of activity of this organisation of low staff numbers includes the full scope of investment tasks, the central co-ordination of project progress, assignment of the tasks to be carried out (implementation is a duty of the consultation companies selected by tender procedures), as well as the management of project financing.

Challenge

During construction period in tube and at stations main contractor and subcontractors need reliable and secure solution to access remote locations, databases, the Internet and to communicate in the tube. This requires a comprehensive solution for a temporary network used during the construction. As the I. section of tube is 7.4km long and connection has to be established for any points in the tube a durable and robust wireless installation was needed. This solution had to be resistant in the challenging environment. Therefore ZyXEL Solution partner I-Consulting Kft. chose ZyXEL switches and dual band outdoor access points with external antennas that proved to be the perfect and reliable solution in the tube as well.
