CALL FOR ART ROUND ROCK AREA ARTS COUNCIL FLORAL EXHIBIT DEADLINE EXTENDED FOR ONLINE SUBMISSION: 5/27/11 ALL OTHER DEADLINES REMAIN THE SAME _____________________ CALL for artwork submissions The Round Rock Area Arts Council (RRAAC) whose purpose is to encourage, support and enhance current and new Arts & Cultural activities in the Round Rock and Greater Williamson County area, is now accepting artwork submissions from all artists 18 years of age and older who reside or work within the greater Round Rock area for its Floral Exhibit. Entries must be original works of art, entirely the work of the entrant. Entries must be water media based, pastel, or oil paintings on natural or synthetic paper, paperboard, canvas or clayboard. Collage may be used, but all collage materials must be original designs and materials, not pre-colored paper or manufactured materials. Entries must be framed and have a professional appearance. Paintings must be ready for hanging with wire (no saw tooth hangers) and protected under either glass or plexiglass with the exception of media used on canvas. Unframed stretched canvas will be accepted if the sides are painted and no staples are visible. (Fully wrapped canvas only.) Paintings that are not correctly wired for hanging will be rejected. Entries which are sold from this exhibit (up to 30 days after the closing of the exhibit as a result of having been exhibited in this show) must pay the Round Rock Area Arts Council a commission of 20% of the sales price. All sales are handled between the artist and client. Artists may not substitute another work for an accepted work nor withdraw that work once it is accepted. All paintings will hang for the duration of the exhibit. RRAAC carries no insurance for loss or damage to artwork in the exhibit or in transit, nor assumes liability for the same. However, every precaution will be taken for the safety of the work. Artists should provide their own coverage if desired. The exhibit runs from June 1, 2011 June 30, 2011 at ArtSpace, 231 E. Main Avenue, Round Rock, Texas 78664. Deadline for artwork submission is Friday, May 27, 2011 by 5 pm. No late entries will be considered. Artists will be notified via email later that night, Friday, May 27th, 2011. Artist Art Drop Off on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 between 9 am and 10 am. Opening Reception will be Thursday, June 2, 2011 from 5:pm at ArtSpace.

How to Submit

Artist may submit up to 3 original works in pdf or jpeg formats at a minimum file size of 1024X768 and not to exceed 5 MB in size online at www.roundrockarts.org Label the jpg image file with your last name, first name, title of painting and size, i.e., Smith_Jane_Sunflowers in Spring_8x10 Artist must complete Artist Information form. The link to this information is on the website until the close of the call for art. A fee of $15 is required for each image uploaded at time of artwork submission. The maximum for three images is $45.00. If paying by check or money order, please make payable to RRAAC and mail to: P. O. Box 5981, Round Rock, Texas 78683. (Please note Floral Exhibit on outside of envelope.) Check must be received no later than Friday, May 27th in order for artwork to be considered for this exhibit.
Art content must be family friendly, as it will be displayed in a community facility. Artist will be responsible for art delivery and pickup at dates specified upon notification of art selection.
