Attention D2424 and D2424LV customers

*** Important Notice ***

As per Fostex lab level test, the following hard disc models are usable with D2424 and D2424LV. (Ref: http://fostex.com/index.php?file=support/medialist) Western Digital WD600JB, WD800JB and WD1000JB. However, we recently discovered some WDxxxJB series do not work with the recorder depending on the drive manufacturing date. Please, therefore, be very careful when you make a purchase yourself.
What is the difference? Pic 1.
The PC board attached on the drive has the shape like in the pic 1, it works OK with the recorder.
Pic 2. The PC board attached on the drive has the shape like in the pic 2, it will NOT work with the recorder.
The Symptom The Pic 2 type JB series will not provide large enough sectors can be used. Also, it may bring audio skipping problem and data corruption problem. Caution The Operation Confirmed Media list uploaded at; http://fostex.com/index.php?file=support/medialist is based on the Fostex lab level test. However, this is carried out with the HD models they obtained from the market at the time of test. Although they keep as same model names, the HD manufactures may change their specification without any prior public notice. Fostex does not guarantee the operation on the HD available worldwide.
