SUPER PRO ACTIVE EASI

Why do the overrides on my Super Pro AVi / Active-PLUS have to be removed in order to use the Part 1299 interface lead with a Garmin Zumo 550?
The Zumo acts as the origination point or gateway for the phone, music and GPS signals and outputs these as a single signal when used in a hardwired configuration such as with the Part 1299. In the process, the Zumo 550s overrides are utilized prior to exporting these signals as a common stream. The important factor to consider is that the overrides are based on preset priorities designed to enable efficient use. In order to connect the Zumo 550 to a Super Pro AVi or Active-PLUS with the Part 1299, the rider must decide to which type of socket to interface the Zumo 550s multi-purpose single signal. If the choice is to maximize music performance the Zumo should be connected to a stereo phone socket which, based on the Autocoms on-board overrides, is low in the priority chain requiring removal of the Autocoms built-in overrides. This is necessitated by the fact that the Autocom is receiving a single audio signal from the Zumo with signals of differing priorities (phone - high, GPS - medium, phone - low) which once combined cannot be separated. To avoid this requirement see the Part 1273/1314 option on the prior page. For additional information on disabling the Autocom built-in overrides call 888-851-4327.
