| I had a Sangean HD tuner for 3 years which did not survive a move. Onkyo T4555 has noticeably better build quality and marginally better sound. Gets everything excepts short wave and alien deep space broadcasts. XM, Sirius, Standard FM, Standard AM, HD FM, HD AM. I thought that inital set-up was a snap, especially programming stations into memory. | |

And inside, the T-4555 hosts a D-type transformer that can reproduce FM and AM radio with the clarity and finesse you would expect from a separate component. With the slot-in C-AMFM tuner module, you're safe in knowing that the quality of the tuner board meets the same rigorous standards as those used in Onkyo's flagship network receiver, the TX-NR5000E. The slot-type module bay will accommodate any future radio formats or upgrades. And with the T-4555's integration connectivity options - RS232, 12 V triggers and IR inputs/outputs - this tuner presents itself as a worthy addition to the best home entertainment systems.
