Please keep this instruction sheet for future reference as it contains important information. Requires four C (LR14) alkaline batteries (not included) for operation. This product requires the installation and use of content management software to import music from your computer to the music player Simply download this software by going to: www.fisher-price.com/kidtough. Adult assembly is required for battery and software installation. Tool required for battery installation: Phillips screwdriver (not included). Wipe the toy with a clean, damp cloth. Do not immerse. This toy has no consumer serviceable parts. Do not take this toy apart. The USB cable is not a toy. The music player can hold approximately four hours of music (256 MB memory). Minimum System Requirements Operating System. Microsoft Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 7 or Macintosh OS X 10.4.10 or higher. Hard Drive.. 20 MB available USB Port Internet Connection (for software download and updates) Software Installation If you have multiple logons on your computer, be sure the logon you are using has Administrator privileges. You will need Administrator privileges to install the software. Go to www.fisher-price.com/kidtough to download the Fisher-Price Music Player software. The file size for Computer Software may be large (about 17MB) and can take a long time to download. Download times vary depending on your Internet connection (see table below). Uninstall Software PC Users Click on the following items (in order): - Start menu on your computer taskbar - Programs - Fisher-Price - Music Player - Uninstall Mac Users Complete the following steps (in order): - Double-click on Macintosh HD - Open the Applications folder - Click on the Fisher-Price Music Player icon - Drag the Fisher-Price Music Player icon to the trash - Empty the trash Starting/Exiting the Software Double-click on the on your computer desktop to open the computer software, or connect your music player to your computer and turn it on. Click on the to exit the software.

Battery Installation

1,5V x 4 C (LR14)
Locate the battery compartment door on the back of the player. Loosen the screws in the battery compartment door with a Phillips screwdriver. Remove the door. Insert four C (LR14) alkaline batteries. Hint: We recommend using alkaline batteries for longer battery life. Replace the battery compartment door and tighten the screws with a Phillips screwdriver. Do not over-tighten. When sounds or lights on the LCD screen become faint or stop, its time for an adult to change the batteries. Protect the environment by not disposing of this product with household waste (2002/96/EC). Check your local authority for recycling advice and facilities (Europe only).
Battery Safety Information
In exceptional circumstances, batteries may leak fluids that can cause a chemical burn injury or ruin your toy. To avoid battery leakage: Do not mix old and new batteries or batteries of different types: alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium). Insert batteries as indicated inside the battery compartment. Remove batteries during long periods of non-use. Always remove exhausted batteries from the toy. Dispose of batteries safely. Do not dispose of this product in a fire. The batteries inside may explode or leak. Never short-circuit the battery terminals. Use only batteries of the same or equivalent type, as recommended. Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries. Remove rechargeable batteries from the toy before charging. If removable, rechargeable batteries are used, they are only to be charged under adult supervision.

Transfer Music to Your Music Player
Note: Your music player includes five preloaded songs. To transfer your own music, you will need to connect it to your computer using the included USB cable. The music player supports WMA, MP3 and iTunes music files.
Slide the USB door on the front of the music player to access the USB port. Insert the smaller end of the USB cable into the USB port on the music player.

Then, insert the larger end of the USB cable into the USB port your computer.
Press the power button on the side of the music player. The content management software will automatically open. Note: You will need to download and install the software program from the Fisher-Price website to use this feature. Go to page 3 for software installation information.
Import Music On the My Library side of the screen, click on the import music button.
Locate the music files you would like to import from your computer. First, click on the music file. Hint: To select multiple files at the same time, press and hold the Ctrl button on your computer keyboard while clicking on the files. Then, click on the Open button.
Select All Check Box Transfer Button
Click on the check box next to each song you want to transfer onto the music player. Hint: You can also click on the Select All link to transfer all the music files in your library. to move the music files onto the music player. Click on the transfer button

Automatic Music Imports

Monitor and Import Music You can setup the content management software to automatically search your computer for compatible music files. On the My Library side of the screen, click on monitor and import music. button

Click on the check box next to each folder you want to search for music files. Next, click on the Scan these folders each time the software starts up check box. Then, click on the
Remove Songs From Your Music Player
Delete To remove songs from the music player, first click on the check box next to the music file to select it. Then, click on. Note: You can also use this process to remove songs from the My Library side of the screen.

Easy Use

Press and hold the power button to turn the player ON. Press the play/pause button to start the music. Press again to pause it. Press the previous or next button to scroll through song choices. Hint: Press and the hold the previous or next buttons to rewind or fast forward a song. Press the volume up or volume down buttons to adjust the volume level. Hint: The volume level will be the same for both the music player and the microphone. If the player is paused for several minutes it will go into sleep mode. Press any button on the front of the player to wake it up. When you are finished playing with this toy, press and hold the power button to turn it OFF.

Sing-Aong Fun!

Pull the microphone out of the holder on the side of the player. Press and hold the microphone button to sing along with your favorite tunes!
For private listening, insert a headphone pin (headphones sold separately) into the Headphone Jack. Make sure the headphones used are equipped with a 3,5 mm pin.

Troubleshooting

PROBLEM
Product functions erratically or does not function at all
Static electricity may temporarily stop the electronic function of the camera and cause picture loss. For example, walking across the rug and touching the camera may create static electricity. Batteries are weak or exhausted

SOLUTION

Reset the electronics by inserting a pen or other pointed object into the reset hole, located in the center of headphone icon on the side of the music player.
Replace the worn batteries with four, C (LR14) alkaline batteries. Check cord connections on both the music player and your computer, or you may need to unplug the USB cable from the USB port on your computer and reinsert it in another USB port. Make sure the transfer process is complete before disconnecting the music player. Reconnect the player to your computer and transfer the music files again. Remove music files from the music player Make sure the music file(s) you transfer are MP3, WMA or iTunes music files.
Cannot transfer music onto the music player
USB cord may not be properly connected; the USB connect icon will not show up on the screen.
Music player was disconnected from your computer before music finished transferring
The music player is out of memory Music file is not compatible with the music player. The music player can play MP3, WMA or iTunes music files. Make sure the music player is connected to your computer and the power is ON. For best performance, do not use the microphone directly in front to the speakers. Lower the volume.

Requires four AA (LR6) alkaline batteries (not included) and one CR-2032 button cell battery (included). Adult assembly is required for battery and software installation. Tool required for battery installation: Phillips screwdriver (not included). Loosen and tighten screws with a Phillips screwdriver. Do not over-tighten the screws. Your Kid Tough Digital Camera includes PhotoShow Deluxe Software to view, manage or edit your digital pictures. If you already have image viewing/editing/managing software installed on your computer, you do not need to use PhotoShow Deluxe Software. For additional image storage, this camera accepts a Secure Digital (SD) card (not included).

Battery Tray

Battery Compartment Door 12
The CR-2032 button cell battery provides power to your camera when you change the AA (LR6) batteries so that no pictures are lost. If you nd that your camera loses pictures when you change the AA (LR6) batteries, its time to change the CR-2032 button cell battery. Loosen the screws in the battery compartment door. Remove the battery compartment door. Locate the battery tray inside the bottom of the camera. Loosen the screw in the battery tray and pull to remove the battery tray. Insert one CR-2032 lithium button cell battery, as indicated inside the battery tray. Replace the battery tray and tighten the screw. Replace the battery compartment door and tighten the screws.

Turning the Camera On and Off
Power Button Press the power button on the back of the camera to turn it on. You will hear a tone. To turn the camera off, press and hold the power button until you hear a tone and the camera shuts off. Hint: If you have not used the camera for a while, it shuts off automatically. To turn it back on, simply press the power button. 16

Taking a Picture

Have your child look through the viewnder or look at the LCD screen to line up a picture. While holding the camera steady, press the shutter button on the front of the camera to take a picture. Listen for a shutter sound and the camera appears on the LCD screen. The picture you just took will stay on the LCD screen for a few seconds so you can make sure you got the shot. Hint: A number appears in the lower part of the LCD screen to indicate the number of pictures taken. Shutter Button

Using the Flash

Flash Indicator If you are taking pictures in low light (dim light) and the ash is required, the ash will operate automatically. A lightning bolt appears on the LCD screen and blinks until the ash is ready. While holding the camera steady, press the shutter button to take a picture. Hint: The ash works best when your picture subject is about 4 ft. - 7.5 ft. (1.22 m - 2.23 m) from the camera. When the batteries are getting weak, the ash will not fully charge and the no ash lightning bolt appears on the LCD screen. Its time for an adult to change the AA (LR6) batteries, see page 10. 18

Reviewing Pictures

Image Back Button
Press the image forward or image back buttons to review the pictures you have taken. When you are nished reviewing, the camera switches back to normal picture taking mode in a few seconds.

Deleting Pictures

Image Delete Button If you decide you do not want a picture, locate it by using the image forward or back buttons. Press the image delete button X. A trash can with a question mark appears on the LCD screen. If you want to delete the picture press the image delete button again. If you decide you do not want to delete a picture, simply wait a few seconds for the trash can to disappear. 20
Transferring Pictures to Your Computer System Requirements

Installing PhotoShowTM Deluxe Software
Note: Your Kid Tough Digital Camera includes PhotoShow Deluxe Software to view, manage or edit your digital pictures. If you already have image viewing/editing/managing software installed on your computer, you do not need to use PhotoShow Deluxe Software.
Insert the PhotoShow Deluxe CD into the CD-ROM drive of your computer. The software installer launches automatically. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation. 22
Connecting Your Camera to Your Computer
Insert the USB cord (smaller end) into the USB port on your camera.
Insert the larger end of the USB cord into a USB port on your computer, generally marked with this symbol. The camera turns on automatically and USB appears on the LCD screen. Note: Do not disconnect the camera or computer while pictures are importing.

Importing Your Photos

Manage Button

Double click the PhotoShow Deluxe shortcut on your desktop to launch the software. Double click the Manage button.

Select

Select the Removable Disk (E:) option from the Cameras and Memory Cards menu and the photos on your camera will import (transfer) into the software (on your computer).

Select All

Check Box Go Button Click the select all button on the top menu to import all photos. Or, to select some, click the checkbox in the lower right corner of the images you want to import. Click the Go button to proceed. 27

Type Album Name Here

Type Comments or Keywords Here
Name your album and enter any comment or keywords youd like. Your new album will now appear in your list of albums. You can edit, share or watch a slideshow of the pictures in your album. 28
Using PhotoShow TM Deluxe

Hand Tool

To edit a photo in your album, move the hand tool over the photo you would like to edit. A small menu box pops up with six options: Edit Rotate Clockwise Rotate Counter-clockwise Click edit to make changes to your picture. 29 Print E-mail Delete

Using PhotoShowTM Deluxe

Adjustment Tools
A new window opens with several adjustment tools to change your picture. You can: crop, add text, x red-eye and more! Hint: For further information and tips on use of these or any features in PhotoShow Deluxe, click ? near the top of the screen. 30
Exiting PhotoShowTM Deluxe

Close Window

To exit PhotoShow Deluxe, click close window X at the top of the window.
Disconnecting Your Camera
To disconnect your camera, click eject disk on your computer's task bar. Select the USB Mass Storage Device (your camera) and click stop. Click OK to conrm. A message will appear on your computer screen advising you to remove your device (camera).
Unplug the USB cord from your computer, then your camera. The camera shuts off automatically. 32
Using an Optional SD Card
Add an optional SD card (not included and sold separately) to store more pictures on your camera. Make sure the camera is turned off. Loosen the screws in the battery compartment door. Remove the battery compartment door. Gently insert an SD card into the slot in the camera bottom, as shown. Gently press the SD card down. You will feel a click when the SD card is in place. Note: The card will t one way. Please insert the card carefully. Replace the battery compartment door and tighten the screws. When you turn the camera back on, the card will appear on the LCD screen. To remove the SD card, gently press the end of the card and it will pop out. 33

SD Card (not included)

Your Kid Tough Digital Camera has an internal memory that stores approximately 50 pictures. If youd like to be able to take and store more than 50 pictures, we recommend purchasing and using an SD card (sold separately and not included). Here is the approximate image storage capacity with typical SD cards: 8 MB.. 68 pictures 16 MB.. 136 pictures 32 MB. 272 pictures 64 MB. 544 pictures 128 MB.. 1088 pictures 256 MB.. 2176 pictures 512 MB.. 4352 pictures 1 GB.. 8500 pictures Notes: If you use your Kid Tough Digital Camera with an SD card (sold separately and not included), pictures already stored in your cameras memory are not visible. To see them again, simply remove the SD card. When using an SD card from another camera, pictures already on the SD card may be lost when inserted into the Kid Tough Digital Camera. We recommend using a new SD card with this camera. 34

Clean the lens with a soft cloth. Try to keep the camera steady when you take pictures. Wait for ash to fully charge before you take a picture. Back up the focus range is from about 4 ft.
