| I purchased this video card as a solution to replace the dismal onboard (and non-DirectX 10 capable) in a Dell desktop machine with no AGP or PCI-E sl... So-called techs need to learn the difference between PCI, PCI-X & PCIe. My servers have PCI-X slots but the techs keep referring me to PCIe parts! Buy this only for a second graphics adapter when maxed out other slots, do not expect HD quality video playback. Low power, small form factor. | |

Cakewalks SONAR V-Studio 700 Now Provides Multichannel Recording Option For REAC Systems
Bellingham, WA. Feb. 2009 Roland Systems Group in partnership with Cakewalk announces support of Rolands Ethernet Audio Communication (REAC) protocol with the SONAR VStudio 700. By combining RSS V-Mixing Systems and Digital Snakes with SONAR V-Studio 700, customers can now have a fully-integrated, cost-effective, end-to-end solution that takes their productions from live events through post production and delivery. SONAR REAC technology allows for up to 40 simultaneous channels of audio to be recorded into SONAR through any RSS V-Mixing System or Digital Snake, via a single Cat5e cable to Ethernet port connection. The SONAR REAC driver has been updated and now supports audio monitoring through the SONAR V-Studios VS-700R audio interface. Once recording is finished, customers simply shift into production mode taking full advantage of SONAR V-Studio 700s extensive capabilities for editing, mixing, mastering and delivery of their productions.
About SONAR V-Studio 700
SONAR V-Studio 700 offers an excellent solution for music production or anyone whos working with audio for video. For those looking to expand their capabilities with an editing suite, or setting up a main studio room, SONAR V-Studio 700 has the features needed in one integrated package that will enable delivery of projects on-time and with higher audio quality. The SONAR V-Studio 700 REAC Edition includes: SONAR 8 Producer Edition REAC Driver Kit Full version of Rapture Virtual Instrument VS-700R V-Studio I/O VS-700C V-Studio Console Integrated Roland Fantom VS hardware synthesizer V-LINK support for editing and control of EDIROL video hardware At the core of SONAR V-Studio is Cakewalks SONAR 8 Producer Edition. For over 20 years Cakewalk has been synonymous with ease of use, and SONAR continues that
tradition as one of the easiest, yet most powerful DAWs on the market today. When you combine SONAR with the revolutionary VS700C V-Studio Console, you get a familiar hardware interface that provides deeper levels of control than ever before. SONARs internal 64-bit audio quality is regarded as the highest quality in the industry, and SONAR also includes a suite of professional audio effects that covers all the bases whether mixing or mastering. The SONAR V-Studio 700 has paired this leading audio quality with the pristine VS-700R 24-bit/192 kHz Interface featuring the same high-quality A/D converters and preamps found in RSS by Rolands S-4000 Digital Snakes. When working with video, the forward-thinking design of the VS-700C V-Studio Console includes a T-Bar, Jog & Shuttle Wheel, Transport controls and more that with the click of a button can be switched to control hardware such as EDIROLs DV-7DL line of nonlinear video editors, or any video or image hardware with V-LINK support. This is ideal for switching between the audio and video realm, and saves valuable space in the studio by eliminating the need for separate control surfaces for each. When these features are matched with one of the most powerful and flexible file import/export capabilities on the market today, SONAR V-Studio 700 is the go-to production suite for delivering your audio and post projects on-time, and on-budget to anyone, anywhere.
About the V-Mixing System
The RSS V-Mixing System incorporates the RSS M-400 Live Digital Console, configurable digital snakes with high quality remotely controlled mic preamps, personal mixers and multi-channel recording options. This fully digital system eliminates the bulk and noise susceptibility typically associated with analog snakes and replaces it all with Cat5e (Ethernet/LAN) cable or fiber. The system generates superior sound quality by converting analog inputs to 24-bit digital streams at the stage via high-quality mic preamps located near the source. The V-Mixing System then secures the quality of audio signal throughout the complete system path en route to the M-400 V-Mixer Console, back to any outputs and on to the limitless splits positions such M-48 Live Personal Mixers. The M-400 V-Mixer features rapid recall of scenes, 100mm motorized and touch sensitive faders, a large, bright color screen, dedicated effect knobs for EQ, Pan, and Gain. The V-Mixer console integrates with PCs for remote control as well as sending/receiving setup data allowing users to prepare channel setups and configurations before arriving at the venue. The cornerstone of the V-Mixing System is REAC (Roland Ethernet Audio Communication) - a low latency, high quality audio transport protocol. REAC is capable of transmitting 40x40 channels of 24-bit audio at rates up to 96 kHz over inexpensive Cat5e cable.
