PEDOMETER WATCH A MULTI-FUNCTION WATCH WHICH HELPS YOU TO STAY HEALTHY
1.0 INTRODUCTION Thank you for purchasing the Silva Ex-Ped Go. The Silva Ex-Ped Go provides Timekeeping, Chronograph, Countdown Timer, Exercise functions and Pedometer functions. To get the most of your purchase, be sure to read this manual carefully and keep it on hand for later reference when necessary. It is advisable to use this Watch in conformity with the below notes: - Avoid exposing the Watch to the extreme conditions. - Avoid rough uses or severe impacts to the Watch. - Do not open the Watch case unless performed by a certied service agency. - Clean the Watch occasionally with a soft and moistened cloth. - Store the Watch in a dry place and enter the Power saving mode (battery will last longer) when it is not in use for a long time.
1.1 BUTTON AND ITS FUNCTION [S/S] Start/Stop Button -To activate the start or stop function during Chronograph Mode, Countdown Timer Mode and Pedometer Mode. - To scroll to the previous menu item. To increase the setting value during setting display. - To switch between Home Time mode and Dual Time mode under the Home Time mode. [S/R] Split/Reset Button -To activate the lap or reset function during Chronograph Mode and Countdown Timer Mode. - To scroll to the next menu item. - To decrease the setting value during setting display. - Hold down to enter Power Saving Mode in Home Time Mode.
[EL] EL Button -To turn on the EL back light for about 3 seconds. - When backlight is activated, each button press will reset timer for backlight
[M] Mode Button -To select among function modes: HomeTime, Countdown Timer, Alarm and Chronograph. - Hold down to select/exit setting display. -To select among different setting items in setting mode. [ST] Step Button. - Hold down to enter into Exercise mode under any mode. - Press to review the information under Exercise mode.

3.0 HOME TIME MODE - HOME TIME AND DUALTIME DISPLAY
Home Time Display - The day of week and the date of the home time are displayed on the 1st row of the display. - The current time (hour, minute, second) is exhibited on the 2nd row of the display. Dual Time Display - The home time is exhibited on the 1st row of the display. - The dual time (hour, minute, second) is exhibited on the 2nd row of the display. How to switch the display between Home Time and Dual Time - Press [S/S] in Home Time Mode to display dual time for about 2 seconds. - Press [S/S] in Dual Time Mode to display Home Time for about 2 seconds. - Hold down [S/S] for about 2 seconds to switch the display between Home Time and Dual Time.

Dual Time Setting How to Select a Setting In Home Time Mode, hold down [M] to enter the setting selection: - Press [S/R] or [S/S] to move the display among different settings from Setting 1 to 9. - If the target setting is displayed, press [M] to enter that setting. Hold down [M] to exit the setting. TIPS: To exit all settings and return to Home Time Mode, hold down [M] for over 3 seconds.

4.3.2 QUICK SET MODE PEDOMETER SETTINGS - 3 OF 9
Pedometer (Sensitivity Level and Sleep Time) Setting Sensitivity Level: Adjusts the Pedometer to users walking or running pace. Sleep Time: Sets the waiting time for the Pedometer before it enters the Sleep Mode when NO step is detected. How to Set the Sensitivity and Sleep Time In Pedometer Setting 3 of 9, press [M] to enter the setting display: - Press [M] to move the ashing (setting). - Press [S/S] or [S/R] to change the setting (Hold down [S/S] or [S/R] to change the numbers continuously). TIPS: To decide the most suitable sensitivity level, walk or run while being in this mode to start the beeps. Choose the current level if the beeping is matched with the pace of the walk or run. Try another level if it does not. If the setting is completed, hold down [M] to exit the testing display.

Countdown Timer Setting - Set the target time for the timer by using this setting. - The target time can be set up to 23 hours 59 minutes 59 seconds. How to Set the Countdown Timer - In Setting 6 of 9, press [M] to enter the setting display or - In Countdown Timer Display, hold down [M] to enter the setting display. NOTE: The timer cannot be set if it is counting, and the display will redirect to Countdown Timer Mode instead. - Press [M] to select the setting items (ashing). - Press [S/S] or [S/R] to change the setting (Hold down [S/S] or [S/R] to change the numbers continuously). If the setting is completed, hold down [M] to exit the testing display.

Personal Prole Setting Set user personal prole (gender, unit, weight, walking and running stride distance) by using this setting. IMPORTANT: Set the Personal Prole before using the Watch, otherwise some Exercise Mode features will NOT perform properly.

How to Set the Personal Prole In Setting 7 of 9, press [M] to enter the setting display: - Press [M] to move the ashing (setting). - Press [S/S] or [S/R] to change the setting (Hold down [S/S] or [S/R] to change the numbers continuously). TIPS: Walk/run on a dened distance (e.g. 100 meters), and count the number of steps (e.g. 200 steps) for accomplishing that distance. The average stride distance will be obtained by: 100 /200 = 0.5 m or 50 cm. If the setting is completed, hold down [M] to exit the setting display.

System Setting - Set user preferences (hourly chime, key tone and LCD contrast) by using this setting. How to Set the System - In Setting 8 of 9, press [M] to enter the setting display: - Press [M] to move the ashing (setting) - When the hourly chime ON or OFF is ashing, press [S/S] or [S/R] to select between ON and OFF.

5.0 EXERCISE MODE - HOW TO TURN ON/OFF THE EXERCISE FUNCTION
How to Turn ON/OFF the Exercise Function The Exercise function (Pedometer Measurement) will be turned ON automatically when Exercise Mode is selected or press [S/S] to turn ON/OFF the function immediately. NOTE: 1) The Pedometer measurement will be STOPPED automatically if NO step is detected for a period of time (Sleep time). 2) If Setting Mode is selected, the Exercise Mode will be turned OFF automatically. 3) Make sure that the Personal Prole setting has been set accordingly before using the pedometer, see chapter 4.8 for the details.

5.2 EXERCISE MODE - HOW THE EXERCISE INFORMATION IS ORGANIZED

Daily Record The exercise information saved within the same day will be accumulated into a daily record. The watch will keep the daily record for the current day and the last consecutive 7 days. For example, the current day is 3-16 (16 Mar 07), the stored daily records are 3-15, 3-14, 3-13, 3-12, 3-11, 3-10, 3-09. Weekly Record The Watch will accumulate the daily records from Sunday to Saturday into a weekly record every week automatically. The watch will keep the weekly record for the last consecutive 10 weeks. For example, the current day is 16 Mar 07 (W11), the stored weekly records are W10, W9, W8, W7 W6, W5, W4, W3, , W2, W1 (Assume a year starts from W1 to W52).

6.0 COUNTDOWN TIMER MODE USING THE COUNTDOWN TIMER
Countdown Timer Function Overview - The measurement unit of the timer is 1 second. - The target measuring time can be set up to 23 hours 59 minutes 59 seconds. How to Set the Countdown Timer - Set the target time for the countdown timer, check chapter 4.6 for the details. How to Measure Countdown Time - Press [S/S] to start counting down when the timer is stopped. Press [S/S] to stop counting down when the timer is counting. Beep Sounds The Watch will make the following beeps during the count down: - 10, 9, 8, 7 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 minute(s) , - 50, 40, 30, 20, 10 second(s) - 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 second(s) - Beep for 10 seconds at 0 second. How to Reload the Timer - Press [S/R] to reload the timer with the target time when the timer is stopped. - Press [S/S] to start counting down when the timer is stopped. Chronograph Function Overview - This Watch includes a stopwatch which measuring elapse time, accumulative elapse time and lap time. - The measuring unit: 1/100 second or 1 second (beyond the rst hour). - The measuring range: 23 hours 59 minutes 59 seconds. - The lap memory: Up to 50 laps. Chronograph Display When the Chronograph Display is selected, the Watch will show the followings on the display: - Counting: During the rst hour counting time (59 minutes 59.99 seconds), minute, second and 1/100 second will be displayed. After that, hour, minute and second will be displayed. - Stop counting: The current lap time and the accumulative elapsed time are displayed. - Lap Display: The current lap number and the lap time are displayed for a short while.

7.1 CHRONOGRAPH MODE - USING THE CHRONOGRAPH
How to Measure Elapsed Time - Press [S/S] to start a counting when the chronograph is stopped. Press [S/S] to stop the counting when the chronograph is counting. How to Get a Lap Time Press [S/R] to get a Lap Time (Lap Display) when the chronograph is counting. In Lap Display: - The lap no. will appear on the 1st row, - The lap time will appear on the 2nd row, - The accumulative elapsed time will appear on the 3rd row of the display. - The counting display will be returned after 10 seconds automatically. - Repeat the above key operations to get another lap time. How to Reset the Chronograph - To reset the Chronograph, press [S/R] when the chronograph is stopped. NOTE: Reset the chronograph will clear all stored lap records.

How to Recall Lap Memory To enter the recall display, hold down [M] in Chronograph Mode: - Press [S/S] or [S/R] to view the acquired lap time one by one - Press [M] to switch the display between Total Accumulative Elapse Time and Lap Time Recall sequence. - If the recall is completed, hold down [M] to exit the recall display. NOTE: If NO Lap record has been recorded, the recall display will NOT be shown.

8.0 POWER SAVING MODE

Power Saving Mode - This Watch has a Power Saving Function which can turn off the LCD display so that the battery can last longer. - While in the Power Saving Mode, the watch function is still worked normally. (i.e. the time keeping function is still running during Power Saving Mode.) How to enter/exit the Power Saving Mode - To enter the Power Saving Mode, hold down the [L/R] button in Home Time Mode for about 5 seconds and the LCD display will be turned off. - Press any key during Power Saving Mode will exit the mode and the LCD display will be resumed.
