1. Unclip and remove the breather hose from the side of the air box.
4. Loosen the hose clip and remove the air box assembly.
2. Unscrew the clip securing the intake hose to the mounting bracket. 5. Remove the standard mounting bracket. 3. Pull the flexi hose off the air scoop.

1. Attach the new mounting bracket to the original mounting point using the original screws.
1. Fit the new rubber intake hose to the throttle housing, Do not fully tighten the clip. 2. Attach the intake hose to the bracket using the new studded clip, nut and washer supplied. 3. Fit the metal tube up to the step in the filter base. Do not push beyond the step as this will affect air flow. Tighten the clip until the filter just turns. then tighten the clip one full turn (360 degrees) no more, Do not overtighten the clip.

Instruction sheet A2054-255-3 Page 2 of 3 6. Fit the plastic tube half way into the new rubber breather hose and tighten the small hose clip supplied. Fit the new breather hose into the original breather hose (this may require lubricating). Push the plastic tube into the side of the new intake hose.
7. Carefully lengthen the flexi cold air hose to 51cm / 20 (306) and 79cm / 31 (Xsara / Saxo). Ovalise one end of the hose and feed it down to the lower grille. Position the end of the 4. 1. Feed the hose to the front lower grille. Secure the hose to the grille with a long plastic tie supplied.
Note: If air conditioning is fitted the flexi cold air hose should be fed down to the lower spoiler. Pierce / drill a 3mm hole in the end of the flexi cold air hose and lower spoiler trim. Attach the hose to the lower spoiler using a long plastic tie supplied.

Tuning. CAT. Cars. No adjustments are required. An increase in fuel may be required if further engine modifications are to be carried out. Filter maintenance. Under normal conditions clean and reoil the filter at approx. 40,000 miles / 65,000 Km. Use only K&N cleaner and oil and follow the instructions carefully. K&N filters are pre-oiled ready to fit. The advantage's of K&N's cold air intake system. Cooler air being denser, will show positive improvements in power over filter systems that draw hot air from the engine bay.

FITTING YOUR 57i KIT If you are not fitting the kit it is essential that the person fitting the kit (eg. Mechanic) carefully follows these particular instructions even if they have fitted K&N kits before. This will save you both time and money. Kits fitted incorrectly may show a loss in performance, e.g. the positioning of the essential cold air hose, (flexi expandable and rubber hoses are used). A final check under the bonnet, by yourself with the instructions, would seem sensible.
