EMBARGO: JANUARY 13, 2011 NEW IPAD APP FOR ALLEN & HEATH ILIVE Allen & Heath has released an iPad application for its iLive digital mixing system. iLive MixPad connects to an iLive MixRack on a wireless network and provides the essential controls for live mixing, including channel faders and mutes, DCA faders and mutes, image controls, aux sends, channel processing, mic-pre control and full metering. Channel processing encompasses high-pass filters, gates, parametric and graphic EQs, compressors, limiters / de-essers and delays. iLive MixPad also offers several useful tools for system set-up, including channel assignment to mixes, a real time analyser and the facility to name and colour channel strips. Glenn Rogers, Managing Director of Allen & Heath, commented: As soon as we saw the iPad we were excited by the prospect of giving our iLive customers portable, intuitive control for mixing a show. In certain situations this app could even replace the console altogether, especially when supported by a PC or Mac for accessing setup features using iLive Editor software. PRESS RELEASE ALLEN & HEATH LAUNCHES GS-R24 STUDIO RECORDING MIXER Allen & Heath has unveiled the GS-R24, a high quality analogue console combined with a choice of interface modules, motorised faders for automated mixing, and MIDI controllers for tactile interfacing with software DAWs, all at a uniquely attainable price point. Based on the highly successful ZED-R16 Firewire recording mixer concept with influences from the classic GS3000, the GS-R24 is primarily aimed at project recording studios, although its flexible feature set lends the mixer to live sound applications requiring multi-channel recording, post production suites, and as a general use home studio mixer. Sporting a high quality mic pre-amp and 4-band fully-parametric EQ, the GS-R24 has 24 mono mic/line channels, 2 dual input stereo channels, 2 mono valve pre-amp channels, 6 auxes (2 switched pre/post EQ), 4 audio sub-group buses, a master stereo and a master mono bus. There are 2 studio output sub-mix sections with individual level adjustment, which source monitor signals, and a comprehensive PFL/AFL and stereo Solo In Place system, ideal for use in mix-down operation. A slot in the rear panel provides optional input and output formats via a choice of plug-in interface module cards. The first module available is a 32-channel Firewire interface with ADAT optical connectivity, which provides a digital send and digital return on all the input channels (mono, stereo and valve pre) and the master stereo, making a total of 32 digital inputs and outputs. Also available from launch will be an analogue I/O plus MIDI module with the interface on D type connectors for wiring to external converters. The MIDI control section provides 24 channel faders (audio and MIDI track), 26 SELECT switches (dual function channel Solo switches), 12 rotaries, 19 MIDI switches, a further 2 MIDI faders and a jog wheel for scrolling functions. The mono channels have either motorised or non-motorised faders depending on model, and mode switches configure the mixer to allow different levels of MIDI control and integration with the DAW. Following in the footsteps of the ZED-R16, the GS-R24 takes the concept of mixer/DAW integration to the next level, explains Allen & Heath designer, Mike Griffin. PRESS RELEASE ALLEN & HEATH SHIPS iDR-64 LARGE FORMAT ILIVE MIX RACK Allen & Heaths iDR-64 large format fixed I/O MixRack is now shipping and widely available. The new iDR-64 comprises 64 mic/line inputs and 32 XLR outputs in a 9U frame, and features the iLive 64x32 RackExtra DSP mix engine, providing full processing (dynamics, EQ and delay) for all 64 channels and 32 mixes. The RackFX DSP framework provides 8 stereo processors capable of high quality FX emulation of industry classics. Each Rack has flexible I/O routing with EQ and Dynamik FXShaper on every dedicated return. With the addition of the iDR-64, the iLive Series now includes a total of 6 MixRack and 7 Control Surface variants, which can be mixed and matched in any combination, and share the same firmware, so that show files are transferable between systems via a USB key. Using standard CAT5, the iDR-64 can be controlled with any of the iLive Control Surfaces, ranging from the rackmount iLive-R72 to the iLive-176.
