With the DV-983H, OPPO has incorporated Anchor Bays latest VRS (Video Reference Series) technology. An ABT102 chipset provides AutoCUE-C, Progressive Cadence Detection, and Precision De-interlacing. An ABT1018 chip handles Precision Video Scaling, frame rate conversion, aspect ratio control and video zooming. These technologies combine to generate a clearer, smoother, and true-to-life picture free of artifacts.

The OPPO DV-983H plays back standard DVD as well as DVDAudio and SACD high resolution audio discs. It is a universal device for all of your favored home entertainment contents (note: Blu-Ray and HD-DVD are not supported.)
7.1 Channel audio with Dolby Digital Surround EX decoding

Movie soundtracks that have been encoded with Dolby Digital Surround EX technology are able to reproduce an extra channel which has been added during the mixing of the program. This channel, called Surround Back, places sounds behind the listener in addition to the currently available front left, front center, front right, surround right, surround left and subwoofer channels. The additional channel provides the opportunity for more detailed imaging behind the listener and brings more depth, spacious ambience and sound localization then ever before.

VRS Processing

Optimized high-fidelity audio circuitry
Taking inputs from audiovisual enthusiasts and world-famous highfidelity audio equipment partners, OPPO designed the DV-983H with a focus on the precision rendering of Super Audio CD, DVD-Audio, HDCD and regular CDs. Its digital-to-analog (D/A) converters feature 192kHz high sampling rate and 24-bit resolution. The driving stage uses carefully selected op-amps and capacitors. Each section of the audio circuitry is powered by its own isolated power regulator, and the main power supply unit is electro-magnetically shielded. Combining these premium components in an optimized design, the DV-983H reduces quantization distortion and accurately reproduces the analog waveform, resulting in a faithful, natural, detailed and rich sound.
