Suzuki GSX-R1000 Undertail Kit
(2003-04, Available in: Suzuki White, Suzuki Silver and Gloss Black)
HOTBODIES RACING RECOMMENDS THAT YOU HAVE A PROFESSIONAL MECHANIC PERFORM THIS INSTALLATION. IF YOU CHOOSE TO DO-IT-YOURSELF ALWAYS TAKE APPROPRIATE SAFETY MEASURES WHEN INSTALLING THIS PRODUCT AND USE SAFETY GOGGLES AND LEATHER GLOVES. CAREFULLY READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE BEGINNING THE INSTALLATION PROCESS! HOTBODIES RACING WILL NOT REPLACE YOUR STOCK GLOVE-BOX FOR ANY REASON, MEASURE TWICE AND CUT ONCE! 1) Carefully remove the tail section body work. Save all bolts, washers and plastic rivets for re-installation of tail. Disconnect and remove the brake light (with all mounting grommets and washers), license plate and turn signals and move all wiring out of the cutting areas. Remove the two bolts at the rear end of the stock fender (inside glove box) to allow the end to hang down for cutting.
2) Using a Dremel tool or cutting disc (this can also be done using a sharp edged knife, but is not recommended), remove the plastic shown in the photos above. Be sure to take your time cutting, so that you dont cut away any more plastic than necessary. 4) Re-install tail section and driver seat. Do not fully tighten! Splice your turn signal wires to the signals in the undertail. On the bike; the black wire is the the left turn, light green wire is the right turn and the black w/ white tracer wire is the ground. On the undertail the red wires are the power wires and the black wires are the ground. 6) Install the undertail to the tail section using the 4 plastic pop-rivets in their stock locations. Tighten down all mounting hardware. Need Help? This installation does require a basic mechanical aptitude, if in doubt, contact your local motorcycle shop and have a professional mechanic perform the installation, 3 hours is the average installation time. 3) *Install license plate brackets to back side of license plate as shown. Now hold license plate in desired location on undertail, carefully mark and drill holes, install using the two (2) sets of allen bolts and lock nuts.
* After this modification your undertail is not returnable. Paint is not warrantied against paint chips, flaking or scratches from installation or rocks being thrown from tire into the tray.

Remove the main seat and the passenger seat. Attach the PCIII to the right hand side of the subframe using the supplied velcro (Fig. A). Remove the fuel tank.

Note:The installation can be performed without removing the fuel tank although having it removed may make it easier.

Ground wire

Cross brace
Route the PCIII harness down the left hand side of the bike. Go under the tail section and then under the subframe cross brace. Attach the ground wire from the PCIII to the negative side of the battery (Fig. B).

Route the PCIII wiring along the left hand side of the battery and inside the fuel tank frame bracket (Fig. C) or under the fuel tank if it was not removed.

Unplug the stock wiring harness from the LOWER injectors of the throttle bodies (Fig. D).

Note: If the PCIII is connected to the upper injectors the bike will run poorly and will not show RPM data in the software.

Plug the connectors from the PCIII in-line of the injectors and stock wiring harness (Fig. E).

Note: Use the stock wire ties to hold the PCIII harness to the throttle bodies. 9 Locate the Throttle Position Sensor on the right hand side of the the throttle bodies. Locate the PINK wire with BLACK tracer and crimp the supplied wire tap to this wire. Plug the grey wire from the PCIII to the wire tap (Fig. F).

Note: It is recommended to use dielectric grease on these connections. 12 Reinstall the fuel tank if it was removed. Make sure that none of the wires get pinched. Reinstall the seats.
