LOW NOISE INPUT STAGE
The easy-feel rotary pot controlled input stage utilises an ultra-low noise pre-amplifier with a wide gain (60dB max) for excellent signal to noise performance. Professional +48v phantom power is globally switchable for all mic inputs when using condenser microphones and DI boxes.
RESEARCH ENHANCED EQ SECTION
Three carefully chosen bands of Soundtracs EQ which have been designed specifically to give the utmost control and musical feel. High Frequency Filter This shelving filter controls the highs and operates at 2kHz (15dB) and above. Mid Frequency Filter Essential to achieve a great vocal sound. Boost or cut the mids with this peak notch filter which operates around 2.5kHz (15dB). Low Frequency Filter Grab hold of the bottom end with this shelving filter that operates on frequencies 80Hz (15dB) and below.

FLEXIBLE INPUT

C H A N N E L S
Flexibility, ease of use and effortless control over sound tailoring, routing and level - the Topaz Mono and Stereo Input Channels have got the lot.

MONO INPUT CHANNEL

2 AUXILIARY SENDS
Two independently controlled auxiliary sends for patching in FX units such as reverbs, delays etc. or for creating a secondary monitor mix. Auxiliary 1 Variable level (up to +15dB) and switchable pre or post the main channel level control. Auxiliary 2 Variable send level (up to +15dB), of the FX send, - sent post the main channel level control.
Designed for use with line level instruments, microphones and DI boxes with switchable +48v phantom powering. You get a researchdeveloped 3 band EQ section with carefully chosen frequencies which are full of expression and bite. - No longer will you have to suffer weedy percussion or boomy vocals.

STEREO INPUT CHANNEL

CHANNEL CONTROLS
Solo - Meter and listen to an individual channel strip in isolation. Essential for level matching. Mute - Cut the signal by pressing the mute switch. - An invaluable aid in mix noise reduction. Routing - The input signal can be routed to the two groups or directly to L-R. Channel Controls - An easy-grab rotary pot controls the pan whilst the channel level is controlled via a quality 60mm smooth-glide fader.
Offers effortless mixing of stereo line level instruments such as keyboards and tone modules as the L and R signals are handled simultaneously via the same controls. In addition you get a lively 2 band equaliser plus two distinct auxiliary sends. (This module can also be used as two mono channels).

Topaz Mono Input Channel

LOW-NOISE INPUT STAGE
Two quality 1/4" jack sockets (for a left and right stereo pair), give access to the ultralow noise electronics especially tailored for line level stereo signals. Superb signal to noise ratio is assured whether you choose -10dBV (semi professional) or +4dBu (professional) operating levels.
EQ DESIGNED FOR STEREO SIGNALS
Carefully chosen frequencies are the key to a successful stereo EQ section and here, Soundtracs have again shown their expertise with 2 filters specifically tailored to suit keyboards, and synth modules. High Frequency Filter This shelving filter operates at 2kHz (15dB) and above and can be used to add sparkle to a sound. Low Frequency Filter Affects 80Hz (15dB) and below and is ideal for adding depth or decreasing boominess in certain sounds such as Brass and Woodwind.
Solo - A sure-touch switch activates the Pre Fade Listen (solo) function - available via the headphone output and displayed on the master meters. This feature makes for easy level matching between instruments and the mixer. Routing - A choice of assignment of the stereo input signal to the two groups or directly to the LR mix is available should a number of input channel levels need to be controlled simultaneously. The left signal is sent to group one and the right signal to group two. Balance - The balance control, (not to be confused with pan), is a rotary pot which varies the relative levels of the left and right stereo signals. - Turning the pot anticlockwise increases the level of the left signal, clockwise the right. When using a Stereo Input Channel in mono mode the balance control does the job of a regular pan. Channel Controls - A smooth-glide 60mm fader controls up to +20dB of stereo channel level.

When you go shopping for a general purpose mixer youre normally confronted with one mass of compromises. Not enough inputs, dull, lifeless EQ, no PFL facility, etc. - You know the beef. It seems that you just cant get the features you need at the price you want. Well nobody told Soundtracs. Best known for the studio and review acclaimed production-class Jade and Solitaire consoles, the stadium filling Sequel II live sound mixer and the revolutionary Virtua Digital Console, it seems somewhat fitting that it is they who should develop a range of feature-rich, lowcost mixers which make the competition look somewhat, how shall we say, overvalued.
These three barnstorming compact mixers are designed for keyboard set-ups, gigging bands, sophisticated audio installations, clubs and pubs as well as stereo recording. The inputs are all high quality and ultra low-noise with a signal to noise ratio spec the competition would die for. Theyre easy to set-up too, thanks to the on-board PFL monitoring and metering system. Then theres the EQ, 3 fixed bands with frequencies carefully chosen after extensive research, for expert signal shaping and tailoring. And of course you get the Soundtracs sound as standard. Why compromise.

BARGRAPH METERING

All Topaz 4-bus mixers are equipped with bargraph metering with two dual operation 10 segment meters. (-21dB to +6dB)
BALANCED 60dB GAIN MIC INPUTS
All Topaz 4-bus mixers are equipped with a balanced microphone input stage which has a class-leading range of +10dB to +60dB. (Line -20dB to +30dB)

MASTER FX RETURNS

Each of the 2 stereo FX returns are mini input channels also with their own rotary level controls. When using an FX unit with stereo outputs these L and R inputs can be used to maintain the stereo effect. When using an FX return as an extra mono input only the L channel should be used. This signal is then sent in equal parts to the main L R outputs.

THE MASTER SECTION

Two Track Tape Control 2-track machines such as DAT or cassette can be connected via RCA connectors. This allows you to record a mix and to monitor off tape (when the tape switch is activated). Ideal for recording a performance or when using backing tapes. Level of the tape input is controlled via the FX return 2 rotary pot. Metering The two LED meters can indicate the LR bus, 1-2/S bus, the AUX 1 or AUX 2 bus, or any input channel so that headroom in the console can be optimised. Auxiliary Masters AUX 1 and AUX 2 can be solod to the headphone out.Aux 1 also has a pre/post switch which when activated makes all channel AUX 1 pots send pre fader, easily allowing a monitor mix to be created. Headphone Monitoring Dual function headphone monitoring is provided via the built-in headphone amplifier with +20dB rotary control. Main L & R Outputs Precise control over the main XLR balanced L & R outputs and mono output is made using two quality smooth-glide 60mm faders.

THE GROUP SECTION

One 60mm fader controls the level of the stereo group section which may also be used as two mono groups. Each group has its own output but with the option of also sending the grouped signal to the LR mix. - Ideal in a live situation where the level of a combination of channels can be controlled easily from a single fader. eg drumkit, backing vocals etc.

20dB PAD

All Topaz 4-bus mixers have a 20dB Pad switch on the main output. Essential when using a Topaz as a sub-mixer it enables the output to match the main consoles input.
Topaz mixers are ideal for gigging bands, sophisticated fixed installations, places of worship, keyboard mixing, post production mixing, mastering and sequencer based studios. - Its just a question of choosing the number of inputs you need.
