I researched webcams on PCWorld and other sites. Although I read of issues with Skype,I had no idea it was this bad. Great for road warrior to keep in contact with family while traveling. Great pic and compact. Easy to hear volume and microphone. Bought to use with Skype for myself and several staff members. Works fine right out of the box in our environment.

"This is the second one I have purchased. The first was not compatable with good old VIsta. OMG This one set up in less that 15 minutes. "I love the different settings on the software. "FIRST OFF I SHOULD SAY I AM USING XP PROFESSIONAL: This is a great Web Cam. It has great Video and Photo Quality. "We now have 4 of these within the family and so far, so good!

This is a must for anyone who wants a video chat- may it be Skype or any other set up. build quality, compatibility, design, easy to install. Without a doubt, this is well worth the cost after being very satisfied with the previous, smaller version for laptops. Better motion, sound.

I would buy another one of these cams it is great in low light situations. I had looked at several different web cams, but, after reading many reviews, I chose the Pro 9000. Everything I hoped it would be.

The camera works great, but what is even better is the software that comes with it. The avatars and other effects are a lot of fun to use. We use this camera with videoconferencing software designed to communicate with big room-based videoconferencing systems.

Clear viewing, easy connect, choose when or how to be viewed - and it allows a pretty good sound. I bought this logitech product at dell.com to use with the new dell studio xps 7100 desktop.

This is hands down the best webcam for Skype. We use it to communicate with family in Europe, with one of these on each end. I liked the first one so much, I bought a second. I use it primarilly with Skype for video conferencing at high resolution. I have fast internet. Got this to web chat with my daughter. The difference in quality between the built-in web-cam on her laptop and this is amazing.
djalimoen 5:02pm on Friday, April 16th, 2010
No Complaints The webcam seems to be working great. I had fast delivery and it arrived just as advertised. I would buy from this seller again. Did not work w/ my computer, but great return experience I order the wrong camera for my MAC, but the return process was seamless and quick.

The RT-1601 comes complete with a DC adaptor, hut any standard 9 Volt DC adaptor can be used. If using a replacement DC adaptor equipped with a polarity switch, set the polarity switch so that the center pin of the DC adaptor jack is negative as shown below.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR TUNING

I. TURN THE POWER ON.
Wait two seconds for the green light to start blinking. The green light will blink once per second to indicate that the unit is on and ready. Electronic instruments should be connected using a standard cord -inch phone jack into the input labeled INSTRUMENT. You may connect the tuners AMPLIFIER jack to any amplifier or PA system input so that you can tune as you play.
2. PLAY A SINGLE TONE THAT YOU WISH TO TUNE.
Adjust the instruments pitch until the desired NOTE INDICATOR light is lit. For example, if you wish to tune a D string on a guitar, pluck the string and tune it until the D note indicator light is lit. Pluck the string every second or so to keep the note fresh and to prevent the note from fading flat.

3. SLOWLY ADJUST THE PITCH OF THE TONE UNTIL THE GREEN IN TUNE LIGHT IS LIT
Note that the SHARP and FLAT indicators blink rapidly when the tone is far from being in tune and blink slower as the tone approaches being IN TUNE. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for the other notes until the entire instrument is tuned.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR CONNECTION
I. Connect the musical instrument to be tuned into the front or rear jack labeled INSTRUMENT using a standard -inch mono plug. 2. Connect the amplifier or PA. system input to the front or rear jack labeled AMPLIFIER using a standard inch mono plug. 3. A floor/foot mute switch should he connected to the MUTE jack on the front panel with a standard -inch mono plug.
HOW TO USE SPECIAL FEATURES OF THE RT-1601

AUTOMATIC RECALIBRATION

Most tuners on the market allow the user to recalibrate only a few Hertz from standard A=440 Hz. They prove to be almost useless if the user wishes to tune an instrument that is more than a few Hertz out of tune. The RT-1601 can be recalibrated to match any instrument by simply touching a button. Example: If you wish to tune a guitar to match an out-of-tune instrument, simply play Ion your guitar) the note you wish to re-calibrate to. Wait a moment for the note to register on the tuners display, then touch the CALIBRATE (or FUNCTION) button on the tuner. Instantly, the green IN TUNE LED will light indicating that the tuner now considers that note to be in perfect tune. Now, if you tune your guitar to the tuner, it will be in tune with the other instrument. To return the tuner to standard A=440 Hz, simply press RESET or turn the power switch to OFF and then back ON.

MANUAL RECALIBRATION

Most other tuners on the market allow the user to recalibrate manually to a very limited number of pitches. However, the RT-1601 can be recalibrated to any of 12 precise pitches. This feature will be especially useful for tuning instruments which use open tunings or any time you may wish to tune to a natural scale rather than a tempered scale. Example: If you wish to recalibrate the tuner from standard A=440 Hz to A=438 Hz, press the FUNCTION button and hold until the top row of LEDs (MANUAL/FLAT, TONE OUT/IN TUNE and TRANSPOSE/SHARP) light in sequence. Release the FUNCTION button when only the (MANUAL) LED is lit. The bottom row of LEDs will begin to light in sequence (each LED represents I Hertz). Press the FUNCTION button when the LED corresponding to 438 Hz lights. The tuners scale is now shifted flat from A=440 Hz to A=438 Hz. Please note that the manual recalibration scale is referenced in Hertz and in cents. There are 100 cents between any two adjacent notes in the musical scale, and one Hertz is equal to one vibration per second.) To return the tuner to standard A=440 Hz, simply press the reset button or turn the power switch to OFF and then back ON.

The RT-1601 will generate any reference tone over a two-octave range so that you may tune by ear. Example: First, plug the tuner into the amplifier. If you wish to hear a C note, press the function button for three seconds until the MANUAL/FLAT, TONE OUT/IN TUNE and TRANSPOSE/SHARP LEDs light in sequence. Release the function button when the TONE OUT LED is lit. Now the A LED on the bottom will light and an A will sound through the amplifier. Each time you press the FUNCTION button, the pitch will rise one-half tone. Press the FUNCTION button three times to generate a C note. You may play your electric instrument while in TONE OUT mode. You will hear your instrument and the reference pitch at the same time so that you can match the tones precisely. The volume control on your instrument will also act as the volume control of the tone generator.

TRANSPOSE

The RT-1601 can he transposed to any key. This is especially useful if you are using a fretted instrument with a capo or if your instrument is not tuned in the key of C, such as a B Flat trumpet or an E-Flat Alto Sax. Example: If you wish to transpose the tuner for use with a B-Flat trumpet, press the FUNCTION button for three seconds until the MANUAL/PLAY, TONE OUT/IN TUNE and TRANSPOSE/SHARP LEDs begin to light in sequence. Release the FUNCTION button when the LED that corresponds to TRANSPOSE is lit. Now, the twelve note indicator LEDs will light in sequence. Press the FUNCTION button when A# (which is the same as B-Flat) is lit. The tuners internal scale is now shifted down one full step so that a C played on the BFlat trumpet will register C on the tuner, not B-Flat as before transposing. To return to standard C tuning, simply press the reset button or turn the unit OFF and back ON.

TUNING TIPS

Most musical instruments have peculiarities that can cause annoying tuning problems. Fortunately, most of these peculiarities can he overcome by following these simple procedures.

FRETTED INSTRUMENTS

1. PLUCK THE INSTRUMENT ONCE PER SECOND AT THE NORMAL VOLUME WHILE YOU ARE TUNING. THIS WILL KEEP THE NOTE FRESH Plucked strings go noticeably flat soon after they have been plucked. 2. TUNE STRINGED INSTRUMENTS FROM A PITCH THAT IS FLAT UP TO THE PITCH YOU DESIRE. This procedure removes any slack in the gears of the instruments tuning heads. If you tune from SHARP to IN TUNE, the gears will slip as you play and the instrument will go flat. 3. IF YOU HAVE DIFFICULTY GETTING A NOTE TO REGISTER ON THE TUNER, TRY TOUCHING (MUTE) THE OTHER STRINGS LIGHTLY TO STOP THEIR VIBRATIONS. This will eliminate any extraneous overtones that may disturb the tuning. 4. USE GOOD STRINGS. Old strings tend to lose their uniformity and will not vibrate evenly. 5. ALL SOURCES OF FRICTION WILL CAUSE PROBLEMS. For example, if the slot in the instruments nut is too tight, the string will be pulled flat as it is played. A tight nut (or capo) will cause the strings pitch to change in steps rather than evenly. 6. AVOID PRESSURE ON THE INSTRUMENT WHILE TUNING. Even moderate pressure on the neck of a guitar will cause a noticeable change in pitch. Also, press the strings straight down to the fingerboard. Bending the strings sideways is very common, especially on difficult chords, but causes the strings to be pulled sharp.

A NOTE FOR ADVANCED FRETTED INSTRUMENTALISTS.
All fretted instruments, and most other instruments, are constructed to play an even-tempered scale. Sabine tuners are also calibrated to this scale. The even-tempered scale places equal tonal spacing between all notes in the scale so that the musician will not have to retune to change keys. A disadvantage, however, is that the third note of the scale sounds a little flat (14 cents, to be exact). For example, when playing in the key of C, the B will sound flat. If you tune the B string so that it sounds correct in an open C chord, other chords using the B string will sound out of tune. The musician may choose to optimize the tuning for a particular key or use the tempered scale. Much depends on the musicians style, but generally, it is best to tune exactly as your Sabine tuner indicates.

Instrument Tuning Tips
Pluck one string at a time. Pluck the instrument once per second to keep the note fresh while you are tuning. Notes go noticeably flat a second or two after being plucked. If tuning a higher-pitched instrument (such as a mandolin), pluck a little faster; for a lower-pitched instrument (such as a bass), pluck slower. Do not pluck loudly. Generally light to medium volumes provide purer tones that are easier for tuners to analyze. Fingernails and flat picks add overtones and slow the tuning process. Tune from a pitch that is flat up to the pitch you desire. This procedure removes any slack in the gears of the instruments tuning heads. If you tune from sharp to in tune, the gears will slip as you play, and the instrument will go flat after a few minutes of playing. If you have difficulty getting a note to register on the tuner, touch the other strings lightly to stop their sympathetic vibrations. Use good strings. Old strings lose their uniformity and do not vibrate evenly. Remember to stretch your new strings out; new strings stretch flat as you play. All sources of friction cause tuning problems. For example, if the slot in an instruments nut is too tight, the string will be pulled flat as it is played. A tight nut (or capo) will cause the strings pitch to change in steps rather than evenly.

RT-7100

Quick Setup Directions
Using your RT-7100 Rack Tuner

Inputs/Outputs

The RT-7100 Rack Tuner has two channels (A or B) with inputs (labeled INST) for these channels on both the front panel and back panel. NOTE Only one input jack (front or NOTE: back) per channel can be used at a time. The Rack Tuner Outputs are labeled AMP. The RT-7100 has outputs located on the back and on the front panel. NOTE NOTE: only one input or output jack (front or back panel) per channel can be used at a time.

Foot Pedal

The RT-7100 has -inch TRS connectors for a two-switch pedal (model # RTPED2). Use the Foot Pedal to toggle between Channels A & B and/or to Mute the tuner output. Connectors are located on both the front and back panels (use only one pedal at a time). When a foot pedal is connected, all front panel switches still operate. NOTE: if you use your own pedal, the switches must be momentary, not latching.

SmartSwitch A/B Display

This LED array displays your input/output configuration and the signal path of the SmartSwitch circuit. As you plug in your guitar(s) and amp(s) you will immediately see the corresponding A or B INST or AMP LED light on the Display. When you touch the A/B switch, the signal path LEDs will clearly show the signal routing configuration of the SmartSwitch (see diagrams on page 4). And, at the same time, the A or B input LED will flash to indicate the active tuner channel.

Front Panel Switches

The A/B switch performs two functions simultaneously. Tuner Channel Switching: Tapping the front-panel A/B button switches the tuner to either the A or B input, and the appropriate LED flashes on the SmartSwitch display to show you which channel is active in the tuner. Signal Channel Routing: Tapping the A/B switch also routes the input/output signal path to match your rig. Use the SmartSwitch A/B circuit with any of the following configurations:
or One guitar into one amp out: Simple setup, you dont need the A/B Function Two separate rigs: 2 guitars into 2 amp outs: Switches both inputs & outputs between channels A or B
or Two guitars, one amp output: Switches inputs
Use the front panel Flat Tune Button to quickly transpose your guitar down from standard tuning great for those dark-n-heavy Eb and D tunings. The front panel Flat Tune Steps scale shows the number of steps or tones below standard tuning. NOTE The RT-7100 display has dedicated LEDs OTE: that show Flat Tune status. The Flat Tune LED for the current setting will always be lit. The 0 LED signifies standard tuning; each position to the left of zero represents tone down from standard tuning. Press the Flat Tune Button once to move the status light one LED to the left. For example, to flat tune your guitar down two half tones, tap the Flat Tune Button twice. The Flat Tune Button will light and the Flat Tune LED will move two positions to the left. Tapping the front panels Strobe Button toggles the display mode between Standard and Strobe mode. Standard Mode: (resembles a bar graph) Up to 8 sharp or flat LEDs will light up to indicate the degree of sharpness or flatness in cents. As the played note gets closer to the note indicated by the Note LED the corresponding sharp or flat LEDs will LED, dim and turn off one by one until the green in tune LED lights. Mode: Strobe Mode: LEDs strobe left to indicate flat, right to indicate sharp. Strobe speed is a function of the distance the played note is from being in tune. A pitch far from the closest note (as indicated by the Note LED will strobe quickly. As the LED) played note gets closer to the note indicated by the Note LED LED, the strobe effect will slow down and eventually stop for in tune. NOTE: NOTE As in all strobe tuners, it can be difficult to get the strobe effect to stop completely. This is due to the extreme accuracy of the strobe tuner and the fluctuation in string vibration frequency as it varies from first plucked to sustained note. Use the Front Panel Calibrate Butt o n to tune your instrument to a pitch basis other than A = 440 Hz. NOTE: NOTE The RT-7100 display has dedicated LEDs that show calibration status. The Calibration LED for the current setting will always be lit. Press the Calibrate Button once to move the status light one LED to the right (past 445 Hz, the LED will cycle to 435 Hz). For example, if you wish to recalibrate the tuner from standard A = 440 Hz to A = 442 Hz, tap the Calibrate Button twice. The Calibrate Button and the Calibration LED above 442 Hz will remain lit while the tuner is calibrated to A = 442 Hz. The Mute Button mutes both outputs for silent tuning. The mute function can also be operated with a foot switch.

Front Panel Microphone

The front panel of the RT-7100 is equipped with a microphone for acoustic instrument tuning without a -inch cord. This microphone is disconnected whenever any of the inputs has a connector plugged into it. Signal from the microphone will not pass to any of the outputs.
